It closed in 2021 for investigations into injuries related to the ride (the worst being fractured vertebrae)...but the park confirmed this last March that its closure would be permanent. Based on my final rides in December of 2020 (when injuries were first being reported)...one train was running _horribly_ rough and bouncy, which I wouldn't be surprised if that was the culprit behind the later injuries. It was an incredible ride, but when it was starting to run that poorly, its time had come...

That and it was just at the end of its service life. We saw how quickly Hypersonic XLC lasted; I’m honestly surprised this lasted as long as it did. The Thrust Air 2000 technology by S&S was the first pneumatic propulsion system ever designed for a roller coaster. This was probably as complicated as the Intamin Accelerators, but their problems were less known due to the fact that there were only two ever built (and only one for the last however many years lol)

@@triple7marc Japan tends to be _really_ good with maintaining dated technology well past its prime, operating very much under an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mindset (the last company in Japan supporting pagers discontinued service at end of 2019). The fact that Fuji-Q doubled down on making the launch even more extreme for the 2017 season shows they were committed to keeping it as much as they possibly could, but it's more than likely the tweaks made to the ride during that time compounded the wear and tear on the ride (to accommodate the loop, they used a slight unbanked turn to the left, which caused a _massive_ jolt to riders' necks; in conjunction with the increased speed putting more strain on the track, the rest of the ride was also growing increasingly rough). Once the consistent injuries were getting reported, it was pretty obvious it was running itself into the ground and that there really wasn't a feasible way to delay the inevitable much longer.

@@Howlingburd19I’m not so sure, the park probably had its reasons, as much as I hate to see an insane ride get removed.

You can get a top fuel ride which will offer even more acceleration than this did. 0-100 in 0.9 seconds and 250 mph in 3-4 seconds. But the price is $10,000 lol

You know, I have a suggestion (although I don’t think it’s gonna happen because it might not be possible), when the whole coaster is removed, rebuild it from scratch using NEW parts and maybe try to replace or update the ride vehicle so it might not cause any complications possible. The ride should be manufactured by Intamin and would use the LSM launch track and try to modify it so it would reach the same acceleration as before (or higher if possible). The only inversion this new ride should have is an Omega element. As for the ride’s name, I call it “Tri-Dodonpa” (トリドドンパ), I based it on the fact that this would be the third time the ride has been made, idk.

@@AiakTycoonsI understand, but I think one of the priorities my revival concept is proper safety features and good testing to ensure the ride is efficient, safe and thrilling as possible. Although, if Fuji-Q really wants to avoid this sort of thing, as you said, maybe some other Japanese theme park might be interested and would likely build this coaster. I’m just saying.

@@GloriousSwagMy last time on it was right when the injuries were first getting reported, and I do remember one train running like absolute crap and jackhammering to hell the whole ride (rerode it later in the day on the other operating train, and it rode normally, so it seemed like it was just that one train having a bad day). My back actually did hurt really bad afterward, but I didn't think much of it till I heard the news of the closure a few months later.
