Same car with same year…I backed into a high curb while parking… the muffler ended up being moved a bit and sat against the heat shielding which caused my rattling… Was looking for a video to help set the muffler back lol

It’s Nissan sentra air intake system issue. Open the bonnet, start the engine , one person with keep hand on intake pipe and another will put on D mode. Here you found the issue.

So I'm hoping my experience with my 2017 Nissan Sentra S (base model) may be able to help some people and it's a relatively easy thing to at least check even if it's not their issue.. I was running some battery cable from inside of the vehicle underneath the driver side dash through a grommet and through the firewall and to the battery. It was a pain trying to reach the cable I fed through that was now behind the air filter housing so I just unsnapped the couple clips off the air box where the engine filter is and took the whole housing off after taking out like two bolts and unplugging the mass airflow sensor. I had suddenly gotten a delivery so I quickly plugged the mass airflow sensor back in and reinstalled the air filter housing in clipped it back together but left off the intake housing part that runs to the front right corner of the car. And was just going to put it back on after my delivery. But once I started my vehicle it sounded and acted exactly how you showed and described in your video. I still proceeded with the delivery and it only made the noise with the vibration when going like 2 mph about to come to a stop or just idling forward with the foot off the break or just when sitting at an idle. After the delivery, I reinstalled the part of the intake that I left off and voila noise immediately stopped as well as the vibration. So if anybody is having this issue I would highly suggest starting with the filtration and intake area and just check to make sure there's not a leak and that everything is assembled correctly. I can't tell you what specifically was making the noise, but again it sounds like a good place to start looking at least. Good luck and hope I can help anyone who reads this

Watch these street mechanics my car was fine until i went to the wrong shop i feel they helped themselves to my car parts and switched out my new and put old parts on my new car 😭 chop shops still exist be careful.. sometimes your car fcked up csuse you trusted the wrong mechanic 👀

I had the same exact problem and I just went out and popped the hood and it was the rod that holds the hood up

IT’s possibly your muffler or exhaust system rusted and and braking causing it to be loose and rattling

Hi did you get an answer for this? I've seen similar and others think it's the following: 1. Engine mounts 2. Computer relearn needs to be done 3. Rubber grommet under airbox is missing causing the plastic to vibrate on medal 4. I saw you mentioned the hood rod can rattle due to the snapping mechanism being broken 5. It was mentioned another user had a ticking sound and it was due to old oil, after oil change the sound left to never return

Had a same issue with my Daughters 2016 Sentra SV. Trying to locate source of noise under dashboard, under carriage and had no luck. Noticed Rubber washer gasket missing between the bracket and air Inlet scoop that leads to engine air filter close to firewall. Installed rubber washer and noise is gone. Hope this helps.

I have the same issue with my 2015 nissan sentra sv. It makes the noise when you turn the car on. While it's in park and drive. If you have your foot on the brake and put it in reverse it quits. But switch it back to park or drive it does it again. My husband and I tracked the noise to somewhere behind the motor...

Nissan sentra is a piece of 💩 car. Wife bought one and first owners and had issue after issue. Nissan dealership mechanics have no clue on how to fix them. They always says it's this issue and that,but never fix it.

I have this same issue on my 2021 Nissan Sentra. And they still have yet to figure it out. Im definitely trading it in

I have this same problem on my 2011 Nissan Sentra. Midas said it was the belt tensioner as well as serpentine belt. Also on my car that caused another problem hand in hand and I then needed a new motor torque mount. I then took it to another mechanic and he said i needed a new tensioner and serpentine belt as well but that I didn't need a mount. Hope this helps. I haven't got it fixed yet as it was just yesterday that I bought the used car. I really wish I would have taken it to a mechanic before buying it.

Check the black plastic air intake tube on the driver side. There is a little rubber washer/grommet that helps hold the two piece assembly together and reduces vibration. I bout a 2019 Sentra a few months ago and it was doing the same thing. The rubber washer was missing and the plastic stud was rubbing against the metal mount that holds it in place. Went to NAPA and bought a pack of 5 for like 2 bucks. Fixed my problem. Whenever the car gets serviced and they change the air filter sometimes this little washer unknowingly comes off too.

Hi , My 2013 has the same rattling issue while at a red light . I did get a mechanical warranty renewed the 2nd time with Nissan that is where I bought my car. Upon inspection they found lower torque mount was broken. I had them fix it. Although I still have rattling on front right side . It's just annoying 🙄. Did you findout what issue your car has?

replace fuel damper and double check the injectors also.
