Love this version. But, I do have 1 criticism. While I'm OK with the blade beams, I absolutely hate the tail beam. I just feel that it's an unnecessary and silly overtake on the design.

Ghouls are essentially immortal, they heal automatically are very tough and radiation resistant. Why is anyone surprised The Ghoul stabs the dog, it attacked him first. Yes stim-pacs heal you just like in the game.

Shin Godzilla is the most cthulu esque/lovecraftian edition of Gojira there's ever been. People bring up the Fukushima disaster as the inspo for this movie, I think that the way this film captures the beaucratic failure is why the horror is the forefront before the heroism.

Well actually, a father and son-like relationship between Kong and Suko. You see, Suko reminds Kong of himself when he was his age because he lost his parents when he was an infant and while Suko is different, nonetheless, the two are alike and so Kong becomes a father figure to Suko, patiently earning the latter’s trust and adopting him as his own son. Kong is a better father to Suko than the latter’s biological father, Skar King. When Skar King kicked Suko’s caretaker Gnarled Finger into the pool of lava, seeing Suko crying in agony, this immediately reminded Kong of losing his parents to skullcrawlers on the day of his birth and was shocked by what Skar King had done in front of him, making Kong furious and challenging Skar King so no more of his kind would suffer under the rule of the tyrannical Skar King. Skar King is a true tyrant, arguably the most evil kaiju ever come up with and the worst villain in the MonsterVerse so far because while Ghidorah is actually a force of nature that was using the Titans to reshape the Earth to mirror where he came from; Skar King had enslaved and tortured his kind for thousands of years to this day and was the one who sparked the Titan war in Hollow Earth thus the ancient rivalry between his kind and Godzilla’s including the King of the Monsters himself. While Kong defines the word king, Skar King defines the word tyranny. According to Adam Wingard, Skar King is the nemesis of Kong and the former represents the worst of humanity and that has delivered truly. If Kong had not defeated Skar King with the help of Godzilla, Suko, Mothra and Monarch; then the tyrant would have won and conquered the surface using Shimo to begin another Ice Age thus continue to enslave and torture his kind. It’s incredibly fortunate that Kong destroyed Skar King in the end and freed his kind from his rule, thus, becoming the true “King of the Apes”. Long live the true ruler of Hollow Earth and the true King of the Apes: King Kong.

1:29 because Godzilla, "a lizard", has 252,000,000 years of experience battling Titans far more powerful than apes like King Ghidorah, Shimo, Tiamat, the Mutos, not to mention the fact that Godzilla fought an entire army of apes (Skar Kings army). So Godzilla, at this point, would know how apes fight and how ti deal with them. In Godzilla vs Kong, their fight only went on for 3 rounds because Godzilla was toying with him and let his ego get the better if him until King won round 2 via hitting him with his axe. Round 3 is how their fight would realistically go if Godzilla wasn't fucking around. Don't get me wrong, Kong is cool, he can definitely give Godzilla a good fight, but if it really came down to who wins, it's Godzilla.

People other than Japanese who saw this movie were probably surprised, right? Why does a Godzilla movie, which is supposed to be a fun monster movie, make me cry? and. In fact, the Japanese original Godzilla has had many variations over its 70-year history, and some of them even have plots similar to those in the Monsterverse. You were questioning whether or not Shikishima “doing his job” could have influenced the outcome of WWII. (04:40) It would have made no difference whatsoever. Though Kamikaze attacks were initially fairly successful, by 1945, the Allies had developed very effective defenses against suicide attacks, particularly for destroyers and carriers. In fact, 1945 saw nearly 4,000 Kamikaze pilots and planes lost without sinking anything larger than a frigate. Shikishima would have been extremely unlikely to have ever reached a target, let alone turn the tide of the war. He would have died for nothing and, worse, in this fictional world, Japan would have pointlessly lost the man who ultimately took out Godzilla (at least, for now). Anyway, good review/reaction. Earned my sub. You should watch Shin Godzilla - it’s also excellent.
