JETS OVER KENTUCKY 2023
The day begins quietly and builds to a mind numbing scream of non-stop turbines and the continual smell of kerosene. The camera man shows you the massive tent area complete with all the toys under them. Then a trip to the flight line to see some of the worlds best R/C jets tear it up in the sky.

Semi Automatic R/C Airplane launcher!
Просмотров 1743 года назад
How about an electronic way to launch R/C jets and such and be able to set up a more adjustable launching platform?? An outside the box idea launches some birds to 15 lbs. with the 4 cords activated, or even the smaller pusher props with just one cord. We also added a blast wall that sizes itself as the launch rails are adjusted for various aircraft. You'll laugh at the "goal post" to maintain ...

The Sky Ranch Flyers of West Bend Wi were asked to provide a short flying demo for this clubs event. Shooting only for kicks I was asking where to fly, what to video etc. while flying, so its totally off the cuff, sort of un cool. What is cool though is what this club all has to offer on about 300 acres. This teaser video is RAW UNEDITED footage (uploaded at 4K) and will be PROPERLY RESHOT to s...

Fun Fly Stills June 2014

No video this year...but Daryl was nice enough to share stills he took so I'm passing these on. I was enveloped this year with racing and dropped the ball on enough video to tell the "story" of the fun fly. Playing in the dirt with 1/8 scale Nitro cars was so fun I lost my mind completely.

IMO the sickest of sick in Giant Scale R/C choppers! Dennis spent more time & dough on this gem they did on the Hubble Telescope. Past impressive! It even has remote starting! I mentioned: "That rig deserves some kind of award".

Some run older vehicles and some have new tech. From 1/8 scale (total over kill) down to 1/16. We run them all together regardless of scale, motor, 2 or 4wd. Last time it was reckless abandon with more vehicles.
89" Slick - Oconomowok Air Show

Sweet airport with more than enough room to bang sticks on anything from any flying arsenal. A 52 degree start & 20 winds had some landing concerns due to serious cross winds. The tents, trucks, trailers and even the crowds inadvertently set up down rotors along the entire flight line with stiff northerly winds. Many were reluctant to fly, due to seeing others "land".

2013 Sky Ranch Flyers Fun Fly

This year we have 2 new camera platforms for aerials and once again offer a separate helicopter "main stage". Again we had the C.A.F. fly in a crowd pleaser, the Texan. They even brought in their vintage war Jeep & offered 1st gear rides for the kids! Along with the helicopter candy drop I would say all ages enjoyed the show. Unfortunately the threat of rain lowered the public & pilots consider...

I would have love to see more of that green Outlaw!!
I looked great! Wish I was there. Maybe I could have helped with the filming? My drone wouldn't get much inflight stuff. But I could get some (speed limted to 85 95)
This was filmed by a friend from our flying club who lives eats sleeps all that is powered by ducted thrust! BTW, We agreed the shaky stuff wont make the next videos ever again!
*Let the Sunshine In...*
Fantastic event coverage. Thanks!
Your very welcome!
Amazinggggg, beautiful jets and awesome pilots!!!! lets goooooo
wonderful video and content, but a swivel tripod would take all the shaking out. tks for the coverage.
The problem is having his heavy professional tripod at all times for a 3 day event...sooner or later your tripod naked. We decided the shaky stuff will never again make it into a video.
Ya I can understand that.....just a shame that such a great content video had the shakes....Really appreciate all the shots and not just planes going around in the circuit....tks again
Great film! Action packed with some BEAUTIFUL birds 🔥👍
Thanks for watching!!
Great Job ! Thank you
Much appreciated!!
Dommage que le cameraman ne soit pas à la hauteur pour suivre les avions en vol. Le reste de la vidéo est bien. C'est un grand évènement!

As a current member of Sky Ranch, I loved watching some footage of the club from years ago! Tomorrow, we premiere the video of this year's Prop Roast 😁
If you can't fly a Senior Telecaster... you can't fly.
very nice
hello...excellent design i like it so much , can you guide me to make a one, please ?
Where do we start OMG!...lol. It's fairly complicated to get the pivot points in the EXACT spots so I first made the entire thing from wood to perfect scale to figure everything out. Serious pain in the ace to get it all right so it works flawlessly in the end. Every pc of tubing is tightly filled inside with oak and CA'd in place to last a lifetime. We have zero tube deformation after almost a thousand launches now...Next hurdle was the metal finger that kicks the tube out of the "ditch" so it fires/launches every time. All white material had to be UHMW to be reliable. Its a serious commitment to make it a totally reliable build. Took the entire winter (4 months) since its all 110% my design so I had nothing to copy, zero guidance, and no clue. I used a power miter box for the alum pcs. a table saw to make all the inner oak pcs for the aluminum., a very accurate drill fixture/drill press, a lathe, a mill and a serious boatload of patience. Testing, testing, testing...you need to be as analytical as you possibly can during/after each test to perfect a launcher. Drill holes must be ACCURATE as hell in each pc to be reliable, smooth operating parts.
Great video sir, and it's a beautiful plane. I really love this model.
Jonny anybody is welcome to fly at the Sky Ranch but you need to be a club member after an initial 3 "freebie" visits. You need to hold a valid AMA card to be a member or fly there as a guest. The club rocks, every year at the Fun Fly (this 22nd of June is our yearly public event COME ONE COME ALL!) we're told by countless people we have the best club in the nation....I kid you not, I here it all the time from public pilots who travel all over the USA to these events. You can fly at our show too, just be an AMA member and toss up what you have to fly....any style bird or chopper whatever, from gasoline to turbine and all in between! The event draws thousands and is from 8am to 3pm. Pilots show up a half hour early (if they want to fly during the show).
I live in the neighbor hood behind the Hahn sky ranch was wondering if I could fly my DJI mavic pro there
I'm trying to find one to buy in a kit form. All I can find is a kit with an electric motor. If anyone knows where I can find one with an eight foot wing span, or a twelve foot one, please tell me. I thought they would be easy to find.
Buy the normal kit and put any motor in it - I have a ROTO 25cc gas engine in my Senior Tele.
I know from one we have in our backyard that they love black oil sunflower seeds.
U guys your suposed to be watchen the plane! Great flight girl
I'm almost finished with a 79 Slick and watching videos like this makes me scared to fly it if a slow moving impact with the ground can do this much damage. It's the strangest thing that they can handle jerking the sticks back and being hammered into spins but as soon as you touch the ground with any part but the wheels, they practically shred like paper.
If I would have shut it down, (instead of attempting to recover it) the fuselage would not have received the whiplash incurred by full throttle.
that's beyond talent. you are a natural in more ways than one. bravo more videos plzzzzz. 😋😋😋😋
What engine do you have in there?
Not sure on motor size, its a guys bird from our club.
OS .70 Four Stroke
What motor is in it
What motor you running

Can't wait to get my Reactor together!!!!!
Nice pictures, looked like you guys had a lot of fun!!
More fun than anyone should have. We were still learning the track at this point; so it was a little ugly. I can't wait to compare this video with more recent videos of us racing!!! You don't see Troll or Rattler flipping cars a cars too much any more.
Oh, and yes, the buzz-purring sound is asking to be fed. It's a contact/affectionate sound used between a mother and babies (and as adults when courting), but in this case it's a desperate request for food and protection/affection.
Heather thanks for the info! I was worried about the mother too... could easily lay a world of hurt on you in a heart beat. Then possibly the rabies shots.
Squirrels are not a rabies vector species. You can check the CDC website to verify that, if you like. Those are almost certainly orphans. Red squirrels have been found to adopt orphans that are related to them, so orphans have the instinct to seek comfort from apparently kind beings when they are desperate. If they had a mom they would not approach strangers like this. This asking for help behaviour is common in orphaned baby squirrels. I see this vid was uploaded in 2011. I hope someone helped them :(
They don't imprint, that's a myth. Squirrels can identify individuals that they feel are safe. The great thing is they will wild out and only come to you. My only concern is if the mom is actually there, babies will seek out someone to care for them. If she is, no worries, just be careful with the dog. I have successfully released hundreds of squirrels. Most go away and never come around, only about 3% do but only to me.
Very impressive to say the least
duct tape quick!!
shit, buy a helicopter for gods sake...
Are you another low life who realizes suddenly a neuron is way larger than your brain? AND you cant even do ANY torque rolls if your life depended on it....right? Maybe in your sleep with an 11" foamie low on 2s power... IF DADDY or MOMMY bought MAYBE? This was practice Mr. I know all typical dumb ass, I'm sure your a 2 stroke god with a six horse big bird right Timmy?.....With that 7.00 airplane you own and the 22 cent mouth to back it up, you should be proud of your accomplishments as a major POS in the "I can type too" population today.
haha, nope! not me. Its funny that you let my comment get your panties in such a twist... I believe a good training method should encompass all tricks in moderation. too much of a good thing can be bad.. a good example can be seen above. If you focus on one thing for too long the mind will stop learning, give yourself a break from the torque rolls, breathe deep and practice high rolling circles instead or whatever else your working on. I doubt you will take an old guys advice but hey, just thought I would throw that out there.
OMG,,,she's Bueatiful...Amazing Pilot too...where are you from..how long have you been Flying...Tell me a little about yourself if you don't mind me asking...
Let me know when you want to move forward. I hope you guys still have my card. Be glad to help you "get into a new Slick" when your ready. You'll have a smile all the way around your head! I can also advise the proper parts for my lightweight builds. Servos, spinner, battery,IBEC to extensions.
I was there.
That's the idea...fly low as possible.
Great Job Joe :)
DAMNNNNNNNNN
That plane is 1/4 scale r u sure?
I see Roger Olsen's Jet
And, I see Jerry Rose
I see Mike Jablonski, Bill Flannery and Jim Furby flying and Roger Nickolaus's Twin engine!
Beautiful plane!
Very true. I suppose the extended gear helps in providing extra lift for short takeoffs.
The landing gear appears to be stock. That’s just the way they are built! They have a horizontal stabilizer that has an air foil which help with lift.
The owner cheated a bit...notice the landing gear is extra tall. This provides a better angle of attack. It gives him instant take off's and for landings, once the tail starts to drop it's almost acting like a brake. The leading edge of the wing way up catching air. Good ol ground effect helps too.
TrollHDTV if you ain't cheating, you ain't trying!
Wow this plane has better performance than my HobbyZone Supercub. Even if I land it on the grass it cant stop as fast as this bird did. Good Job
nice... kit have instructions on float placement and balance? have 2. 45s and a.60 as.well.as a.25 stik
I like flying close too...but you need more practice to do it around other people. Couple times before it went in you almost lost it towards you and then the pits! Injury waiting to happen....IMHO
