Stuck Aperture on Nikon DX AF-S Nikkor 55-200mm Lens
Просмотров 24 тыс.6 лет назад
Diaphragm/Aperture lever was stuck on this lens. I bought it as it is online and decided to try my luck fixing it. I am in no way an expert, just trying to save some money on a lens. I was lucky that I was able to fix it.

A great monument which is preserved well by our government.. The feeling which u get when u walk through the corridors and while inside the cell cant be described through words..... Salute to all those great men and women who gave their life to gain us freedom
although my lens was a tad different from yours(Nikkor 85mm 1.8) this helped me so much! The fix was so much easier than I thought. the aperture was stuck for five years and I finally got around to fixing it. great video, thanks!
@@LP620 glad it helped!
Dear friend I have Nikon 24-70mm 2.8 same problem 2.8 stuck no up this method can I use to fix
Sure it can!
Enthustiatic but it is too dangerous
Thumbs up for posting this!!! If only youtube would handout 600$ prizes to troubleshooters like you The dynamic range on the camera you shot this with is pretty bad :P
Thanks for the nice words. I shot with d7100 with a 35mn lens, had a tough time getting it to focus at the right spot 😓
Thank you dropped my camera and my aperture was stuck thanks to this video lens is fixed My Nikon d3100 camera broke too but was able to fix mirror by carefully moving mirror with screw driver seems to be working fine now
Glad to hear that!! A lil diy, a lot of patience and luck can do wonders!
The video is informative but please get rid of the annoying music.
Brother help me....my nikon 18-55 mm lens is having a problem.... whenever i attached the lens it shows LENS NOT ATTACHED, i can only use it on Manual mode that also I can't control the aperture...and just today i just saw that it says it is NON-CPU LENSES. please anyone help me😭😭😭😭
Wanbha Dkhar usually its due to dirt or oil on the lens contacts. Clean those contacts both on lens and also on the camera with alcohol wipes. Let me know if it works. Also, keep in mind to use non lint wipes. Good luck buddy!!
@@KASDIX okay brother I'll try that....also there's some scratches on those things idk what do they call those but they're like grip or edges on the lenses...could it be becoz of that also
Wanbha Dkhar sometimes those tiny scratches are enough to ruin it. Hopefully a good cleaning of those contacts will be good.
@@KASDIX Actually there are many scratches on the barrel of the lens...could it be becoz of that?
Wanbha Dkhar Did you try cleaning it?
Very interesting video. Thank you for your time with this. I have a Nikon 19mm that suddenly is "stuck" at f2.8. It doesn't go up or down. I have tried this lens on another camera and the same happens. I have cleaned the connecting dots of both the camera and camera body, but nothing happens. Do you know where can I get any information on troublesome for this lens? Maybe it has happened to another photographer and the information could be of great help. I'm having trouble finding information anywhere. Nikon service just says to send it in as usual ofcourse. Let me know if you have any info on this problem or where can I get help. Thanks!
Thiago da Cunha Thank You for the comment. Did you drop your lens ? Sometimes a small tap will put the aperture back in place. But wouldn’t recommend doing it if you don’t know where to tap. A small spec of dirt can get stuck in between the gears and can cause this. Sometimes the spring holding those aperture leaves comes loose.
@@KASDIX Thank you. No, the lens has never been dropped. But I do change lenses a lot and work near the sea so that could be an issue. I guess I have to send it in. Thanks again.
*The lens produces good pictures✥>**imgs.love/Nikon55?no** throughout the zoom range (although it suffers somewhat in low light condition), and the VR makes it possible to hand-hold the camera with some pretty low shutter speeds without blurring the image. Since the lens is fairly light and relatively small, it's easy to use and doesn't make the camera too bulky or heavy.*
Well done! You saved me! I have a live-stream real estate tour to record with my wide 16 - 24 2.8 Sigma lens in 3 days. I had to fix it and your video gave me the confidence to fix it and it worked! Thank you!
Shawn Mills That’s awesome Shawn!! I am glad that my video helped you. Thank You for the nice words.
@@KASDIX Absolutely! My camera repair company closed the doors for a while with everything going on. By fixing the lens, preventing the need to rent a lens.
It it the same to repair a Nikon 85mm 1.8g
APERTURE ADE if it has a moving shutter, its the same process!!
Excellent video I just buy for $6 one and gamble after watching your video and was exactly the problem.. and now work fantastically.. so i save some cash 💰 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
jacasan2000 Thats the way to go!! I am so happy that my video helped you. $6 lens!! Oh my god. You saved a whole buch of money there. Thanks for watching my video.

Bro 55-200 works on d3400 or not
Bishwas poudel As per their compatibility chart, AF-S or AF-p type should work.

Sadly, this didn't work for me. It wasn't only the aperture that didn't move, but also the zoom is blocked. The little wire is only very loosely connected, it came off and I had to resolver it. Took me 3 attempts and a bit of extra solder to get it attached firmly. Bummer. Nevertheless thanks for the video. It helps as reference material on how what is attached with what screws.
mouseanalyse this video was actually a reference for what goes where for me to put it all back in. Thought of sharing it. Yeah, I know that lil wire. Gets in between all the time. Sorry to hear that it didn’t work out for you. Thanks for the comment! I
Bro apna number Lao
Thanks you
Just fixed my lens which had the same problem. Thanks!!
Queen28m I am so glad it helped.👍
Mine disengaged from the pin too! Thanks!
Bisstube Glad it helped..
Kasyap Sudha it’s a little tricky handling all the small parts but not too bad.
Is it normal to hear the lenses move around inside when I shake my lens from side to side etc.? I think it may have been dropped at sometime or other! * Follow up here: Is it possible that some elements are out of alignment and maybe they have separated inside? I see slight blurring on the left side of every image when I maximize my photos to full frame! Should I go in from the back or the front of this lens, to check for this issue? Thanks in advance! :)
Sorry for the delay in replying. Lense might get out of its sprocket system. You should always go from back to front, as they have assembled it from front to back. Sometimes a bump or drop the lens can definitely cause this. Please solve this before you shoot with it anymore as it can cause further damage. Thanks !
Thank you so so much Brother... You had really helped me a lot by making this video.... May God bless you and may God bless your Channel And Stay blessed forever...
Ansuman Majumder Thank You
Yes, I did help. Thanks.
Spray Mad Foam Yo I am glad to hear that. Thanks for letting me know!
Kasyap Sudha Fixed mine yesterday. Took me longer than you did, but it works awesome!
