Adventuring Pals
Австралия
Добавлен 3 апр 2017
Welcome to Adventuring Pals. Our aim is to provide with you with loads of information about our travels and experiences as we are caravanning around Australia on our big lap so that you can better plan your very own epic adventures.
Hi, we (Elvin & Esh) are a family with two young boys (Jaiden & Jordan) and we have been working and traveling around Australia since March of 2019.
We are usually towing our Jayco Expanda caravan behind our Mitsubishi Triton and that is now our home.
We share with you all the ups and down about our life on the road as a family with young children. We show you where to go, how to get there, what to do there and because we usually spend months at the places we go, we can give you almost a locals point of view.
Also check out our Facebook & Instagram with the same name “AdventuringPals” for more regular posts.
Thank You for your support.

@@samlandorf2338 thanks mate. I appreciate you taking the time to tell me.
I have the 115l and it has never ever reached its -10 or frozen a bottle of water ! It cuts out 100 times a day throwing a cide and takes 10 minutes to tuen back on! I have 4 x 300 ah batteries, I have solar input and dc/dc and generator 14.5v constant! All day until night time and all day long the fridge just cuts in and out!! I have 2 other engel and a waeco both fridges work perfectly, they reach their temp and freeze anything i put in! My brass monkey ihas never frozen a thing, all it doe is cut in and out. Sent it back for repars, and i recieved it back apparantly faultless! Same thing straight away! The 115l weighs literally a tonne! Its soo heavy its too big , its huge!!! I.would not t recommend a brass monkey fridge to anyone, dont waste your hard earned money on this crap.. i have read so many somilar reviews to mine..
That’s a terrible experience indeed. I’m surprised they didn’t replace it for you. Did you buy it from Jaycar or RTM? They are usually great to deal with. From my experience anyway. I upgraded this fridge to a Brass monkey upright fridge and that’s been working pretty well too. Maybe I’ve been lucky. If it’s still under warranty, you should try and get it replaced.
Yeah mate , yeah nah, gonna cook a paylow, yeah mate, let’s get into it. What do ya reckon, whattaya got eh?
Cheers mate. 🤙
Just got these drawers also. Definitely checkout rivnuts. Perfect for creating M6/M8 sized mounting points into blind panels and canopies where you only have access from one side.

Might also not get the full charge depending on if your charger is lithium compatible or not. Lithium need a slightly higher voltage to fully charge, but still much better option even if it doesn't charge 100%
@@scoooooty it has a setting for lithium so I’m guessing it should do the job. Might have to dig a bit deeper into that one. Thanks mate.
great episode, I am sure you'll now be able to camp where we camp with the dual lithiums.
@@nanddayal6836 that’s the plan.
Nice work on the install, would also recomend some split loom conduits on the linked battery cables, Victron also do an IP rated shunt that should work fine if you're going to mount it outside with the batteries.
@@ArgonsGas thanks mate. I have already put some conduit on the cable. Will show that when I do the shunt install. Is the Bluetooth only one IP rated one you’re talking about. Or is there another?
@@AdventuringPals Yeah I belive so though it's a bit confusing, if you don't just want to use the bluetooth it looks like you can add the screen seperatly but many places sell the screen and normal shunt as a combo. I've installed the kings shunt on a mates system in a canopy and i've installed the simarine system in my campertrailer.
@@ArgonsGas I think I’ll just the Bluetooth one in the caravan and save the extra cabling. Might get the Kings one for the canopy as it’s only half the price and that way I can compare them too.

@ All good thanks mate 👍👍. We had a big gum tree come down and destroyed our caravan and Navara, just missed the bride by no more than half a metre,I was standing the other side of the truck with smaller branches all around me. Both of us came away without a scratch 🙏all though Charlie 🐕🦺was in the truck 😂😂he took off an hide under a bus parked about fifty meters away, I’ve got a feeling he might take a while to trust me again. We went to Bathurst and brought a used New Age 22’ 2022 double bunker for 72K ,for all intention purposes you’d think it was brand new, they couldn’t of used it much at all 👍👍they reckon they wouldn’t of travelled anymore than 20k kilometres. We have to wait for the insurance to assess for payouts but the van is a definite write off, I just hope the Nav is as well or we could be waiting for months for it to be fixed 😇🤞🤞they probably won’t even start working on it until February next year. I was thinking about a new Isuzu crewcab truck or maybe a Toyota 70 series twin cab 😂😂 but the bride has other ideas, we took a new Y62 patrol for a test drive In Dubbo and she hasn’t stopped talking about it ever since. You know what it’s like mate,ya gotta keep the bride happy. Just waiting on insurance to make a decision now, probably at least a couple of more weeks yet , all’s good though,we have family and a tribe of grandkids to entertain us and a new van to kit out 👍👍❤️🙏.
@ wow mate. How incredibly scary. So glad to hear you guys are all ok. Hopefully the insurance does the right thing. Those Y62 are a pretty nice unit. @@colinsimmons2913 thanks mate. Sounds like I’ll need all the luck.
Mate, with the battery ditch the AGM and go Lithium you will never go back, you might need to check whatever DC to DC they supplied in the van that it has a Lithium setting, I have been running 2 x Li-Time 200A Plus in parallel so 400A for about 6 months, these have been faultless, currently on a 3 day cycle for 100% to around 40% backed up with 400W or 900w solar, These run a 3000W & 1000W inverter for off grid cabin to run Induction, dishwasher, washing machine etc, then a 2000w when I put one back into he vehicle (I am going to get another one just for the vehicle so no need to keep swapping), go the Plus models as they have 200A BMS, non plus is 100A so give that a miss, They always have online sales, I got these for $612 free delivery, currently Black Friday sale $662 you can't beat the price with 5 year warranty, they have been in the US for many years just recently come to AU, weight is 19.8Kg, compared to my Renogy 200A, it's 29kg and nowhere as good as the Li-Time for discharge consistency, watch the price online reflects the "Final Price" I found the website doesn't always apply the full discount, just send them a message and they will fix it straight away, they got back to me within 12 hours on a Sunday and fixed the pricing difference, good luck, let us know how you go.
Mate, good to see you back on, don't worry about producing Emmy award videos, we just happy to see you and the family travels / reviews etc, informal format is good, I'm really looking forward to an honest Ranger review as I trust your review better than any other YT.
@@-PORK-CHOP- thanks mate. I appreciate your kind words.
Standard v6 engine with a remap, front suspension parts from the raptor, strengthened chassis, maybe new diffs at least new internals, shafts, proper rims and tyres, maybe a tranny cooler, new rear suspension. Done. $88k plus on roads I reckon. Xlt internal spec. Maybe a second trim level at 93 plus on roads. Keeping it all below the f150 range. Just. Definitely on my radar! If these engines stop bellowing up ;)

@@dousty how do you mean?
1.5 ltr 4 turbo supercharged , or it could have a real motor we`ll see . Be the same price as the other import/ converted utes probably == overpriced .
@@paulthompson8480 I’m hoping they stick with the v6 diesel and it’s reasonably priced. The f150 isn’t too bad and thats after a conversation to right hand drive which the ranger won’t need doing. If it’s based on a low spec trim like XLT that should be achievable. But like you said. We’ll have to wait and see.
I thought the f150 was rhd built as it was a USPS vehicle so they deliver from that side of the vehicle?
@ that was the case for the old f trucks. But not the new ones as far I know.
Small boosted engines do not last the way they are designed currently
Yes, I feel the same way but at least the ranger has a 3l v6, which is probably biggest offering of all the mid size utes now that the v8 cruiser is no longer an option. I also feel that all the extra emissions restrictions are also to blame for the ongoing engine problems.
Why the hell are weekend warriors and city slickers wanting these ridiculous vehicles. Surely its an ego thing for wankers to boast about to their airhead mates or want to tow a bloody monstrous alloy dog box on wheels. Grow up!!

@@johnmathisen1167 yes will be interesting to see the final product as it’s sold.
Why, have a look at Tyler Thompson partner vehicle. Look at Ford's timing belt.
@@RustyCandyAdventures hey mate. I’ll look into that. I just think it will be great to have a big gvm from the manufacturer with the factory warranty backing. For whatever that’s worth, as I haven’t yet needed to claim anything with ford yet so not sure how they handle it.
@AdventuringPals is it about the adventure or the comfort. Reinsurance about the children, keeping up with the jones. Or is it better the adventure. Letting the children to have their camp, going to them remote places. It's the same view with the top rig as a tent. Is it the father that does things with the children. Towing big means bigger problems. The tight tracks. The weight. The soft sand or mud. Being a medium off roader like these dual cabs or getting a real off roader. Like an oca, Isuzu truck. Or a big ass off roader. Not worrying about scratching the paint. Knowing the drive line can get you there. Me and my selection i would be tyler last build with my camper. And spending the rest of the money on an adventure. And when it breaks, not worrying about a 2nd person hoping they are going to fix it. There all shifty, that what this country become. Have you seen sailing la vagabonds. Or ghost town living or beau miles. Going overland and many more. I know this text is a bit. But keep it simple. Be rugged, go for the adventure. Be able to fix it. Be like Malcolm Douglas. The camp man. Show your family you can fall down and pick yourself up. Do not trust in salesmen and companies. Trust in yourself. You have a better life.
@AdventuringPals ruclips.net/video/ZwR7M0VcC98/видео.htmlsi=csD17z0zerzu0me6 you do not aways need the best. Now, this couple is setting up to see the world.
@@RustyCandyAdventures well for me personally it’s all about getting out there comfortable and safely with a reliable setup. I would just like to be able to take what I want and that’s where the big gvm is appealing to me. I also use my ute as a work ute when we are at home too , so it’s a double win for me. I don’t really need to tow big as our caravan is 2700 atm and we don’t really tow off road except on dirt roads. I like getting new vehicles just to avoid buying someone else’s problem that I have to fix and getting a factory warranty is a peace of mind. I was just as happy, maybe even happier when we started travelling with the fam in our under $40k setup, ute and van. But sadly things broke down over time and had to be replaced along the way and our wants and needs change as the kids get older too.
