    Really appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule to share your space and your beautiful work.I had the pleasure of meeting you not long ago at the New York student artist league and since then have met quite a few people how had you as an art instructor. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and was pleasantly surprised when I saw some of you work in Todd Casey's new book ,Oil painters color handbook but wasn't surprised when he mentioned you were also his teacher.Thanks again and be safe.

    Hello Max, I was wondering if your father ever signed his portraitures in capital letters and not cursive writing? I have two portraits by an “A.GINSBURG” of my father and grandmother. Thank you for the information!

    • @maxginsburgstudio4427
      @maxginsburgstudio4427 2 года назад

      Analea, I'm not sure. I recall mostly cursive signatures. He always signed "A.Ginsburg" with the letter "g" in lower case.. Email a photo of the portraits and a close up photo of the signatures and I will tell you if these are his paintings. Max

      They were all sold a long time ago and he didn't have a camera then to photograph them. I wasn't even born yet (1929 or 1930) and I was just a little kid when they were being sold. I vaguely remember seeingmiddle 1930's. Thanks for asking. Max

    What a wonderful tribute to your father on your birthday. I miss seeing these paintings more than I can express. When I saw you posted this video, I immediately stopped what I was doing to watch what you were willing to share. Your stories of your father, his life and his devotion to painting remain among the highest forms inspiration in my own life and artistic ambitions. He was a true artist indeed - sensitive, honest, with big brushes. The paintings you shared are beautiful. I love seeing your quick sketches too - oh color… endlessly alluring and worthy of devotion.

    Mr. Ginsburg..sincere thanks for sharing this! Fond memories of your teaching @ HS Art and Design...45 years ago you painted a group of students there.I was invited by you to sit for a portrait also, however a long daily commute didn't allow me to ( one of my life regrets).The once stated youthful pensive look in my eyes has only changed slightly over the years with the evidence of life's enduring journey...lol. You're inspiring and I'm grateful for you sharing this (virtually across the miles: Galveston,Texas 🤠)❤️ A&D 1976

    That was pleasant. I would agree with you about the value of understanding business. Most of us would benefit from more knowledge in that department. That said, as an artist, you've done a wonderful job projecting your values onto canvas. As a teacher, your example has inspired generations of students to think deeply about their beliefs and be able to stand behind their ideas with conviction; regardless of criticism. Speaking for myself, the time I spent with you from the first few minutes of instruction altered my entire conception of art, life, purpose and meaning. I am more grateful than I can express in a single comment... Thank you Max.

    I think these artists you are referring to are mostly graduates so they don’t have a choice but to stick to the rusty traditional methods of the old masters, which I think is important. Could it be Rewriting history? Are artist as important if they don’t refer to traditional methods? Are artists using this means to refocus the gaze on what’s happening now? And also is that an obstacle in the way of artist reaching their full potential in terms of creativity and being unique?
