Indies with Potential and an NES Classic
Tuff game, even for an old school hardcore Pro like myself
I think the reason is the audience themselves, lack of marketing didn't help much but it's the people themselves the real reason I think. Alot of Westerners aren't into turn based or anime like games and there are some who are more into gameplay than story. There are alot who prefer mindless fast paced shooting or Hack and Slash over slow, strategic turn based games.
Definitely the best WRPG platform. I think Switch is still the best JRPG platform.
Can the ATOM RPG switch version work with the console?
It does work on Switch if that's what you mean.
Edit: (Looks like y'all played it ♥️) There's an amazing thousand year door hack of paper Mario 64 if you wanted to try, and you can add HD assets too. Mupen64. Paige would have liked that I think, since she played thousand year door first
Excellent stuff as always, folks !
Glad you enjoyed it!
If it's not stolen I love this video
Stolen?!? - Thankfully the Meta Quest 3 has on-board capture so that you can download the video right from the device. Makes it a breeze to create VR content for RUclips.
@@TheThirstyMage oh no i meant like a lot of people just screen record other peoples shorts
No worries, all me lol. I think I forgot to mention in the video I also like Walkabout because it doesn't give me motion sickness.
@@TheThirstyMage agreed my dad loves the game!
Great stuff as always folks! Ditto on save spots often being whack. Gimme save anywhere !
We have the technology…. lol.
thats not turn based... games these days seem to appeal to people with no attention spans and no braincells.
You can’t compare the graphics of this remaster to other NES games, that’s completely unfair.
Sure, but the original NES cartrudge graphics are still better than most NES games.
this isn't the NES lol
shhhhhhh
Usually good to get whatever version of the game you want that runs the best too! Rather than setting yourself up for disappointment
*Mario and Zelda joined the chat*
if your a player of the original that hasn't played this, it is nothing like the originals combat not even close, even with mods. you have to play it knowing you are playing an action game. honestly
Out of curiosity, why did you decide to play the version of Eiyuden that was the most likely to have errors and bugs (Switch)? Setting yourself up for failure. Aesthetically, Bravely Default is more boring to look at than Eiyuden in my opinion, but of course thats objective
Jordan is the Reviews Editor at Nintendo World Report, so he was obligated to review the Switch version of the game. Even with the Switch being underpowered compared to other platforms, a game with this type of retro aesthetic shouldn't be struggling this much. Many games with much more graphical demands run much more smoothly.
I'm playing through every single final fantasy and offshoot final fantasy game before I play remake and rebirth 😊 Staying hopeful for a true ff vi remake
We can only hope. Be interesting to see if the rumors of a FF9 remake are true.
Have you tried the Golden Sun: Jenna Mod hack? Makes the beginning way less dull, I've heard
Never tried that, I'm guessing it cuts out a bunch of stuff lol. Curious if they have a mod that combines the two games into a full story.
You really need to play this game on ps5 or pc, which sucks because this game has a major bug that affects all Platforms. The encounter rate is locked to your FPS. PC players with a really high FPS can run around forever and not get a random encounter
Definitely feel like there are going to be a ton of updates for this game as the developer irons out the wrinkles. The addition of a toggle to control the random encounter rate should be first on the list.
@TheThirstyMage a few updates I don't think were mentioned in the podcast after finishing it. The weapon system is annoying, but this was 100% ripped straight from the suikoden games. There are 3 attendant slots you can throw all the characters that the game forces on you for the story so they can be there for the story but not combat. (You can even throw the main character in that slot and never use him) Also with this being a suikoden game, you have will have to also have to play this game with a character recruit guide.
Thanks for info! We recorded the episode a few days before the official release (playing a review copy of the game) so there's already been some patches since then. Definitely agree with you that a guide in regards to recruiting would make the game much more enjoyable. Probably already a few online that folks would be able to use.
FF6 faithfully remade in 3D would _smash_ all over every single other Final Fantasy
Kinda surprised they haven’t done something with Final Fantasy VI (besides the pixel remaster) lately.
AND PS4/PS5
Agree 100%
Gosh! The Command & Conquer series was my childhood! My first game was Red Alert. I did preorder the Remastered Collection Special Edition from Limited Run games. Fun times!
Awesome! I’m looking forward to seeing what the later games were like. I played a ton of OG and Red Alert but started to fall off the series after that.
are you guys taking voce roles?
We wouldn't say no if someone offered us a role.
thats great! do you have anywhere were we could talk in more detail? i have a insta, discord, gmail and personal contacts
Nice
thanks
This is not turn based at all
Final fantasy 6 is in no way whatsoever better than 7. The story is good. Other than that it's backtracky AF. I wanted to give it a run through again as I hadnt beaten it more than once (FF anthology original ) and until the story started evolving, it was ass AF.
1:56 it's also ok to stick to the wall if you not high enough to jump on platphorm!
The only downside for me is that I cannot reconfigure the buttons, And it's a really hard game because of this! game
If i remember correctly, NIS America is doing their best to narrow the gap between the release date in Japan and the West. Hopefully the series would catch fire and get more gamers to play.
Falcom also said that they would try to slow down so that the localization to catch up but with Revierie in 2023, Daybreak in 2024 and Daybreak 2 in 2025 it's really good progress, I just hope quality don't drop due to the rush.
That is great! Would love to see an entire collection of pc games/steam deck games! How did you do this btw? Is there a video with the process?
It's funny, I was sure I made a video on how to make them but now I can't find it. The gist of it, I purchased a bunch of bargain basement DS games for the boxes, created box-art based on Pixelmator, and then hot-glued à micro-SD holder into the box. Worked great and they look great on the shelf.
Just make a black and white vr 😭
thats gonna get really expensive if you want to do that for your entire collection :D
Lol what a terrible "review" this is merely your thoughts on like 2 aspects of the game....
just ugh.
I agree with dude on a traditional turn based it's better final fantasy should have stuck with that that new shit ain't cool
All the effort they put into this game and yet the sloppy fighting completely wrecks it. They should acknowledge their screw up and at least offer a turn based option
The Classic Mode IS turn based. Your character auto attacks (fills your ATB like the original) and you use your ATB to do actions. NOTHING IS DIFFERENT. It's just the WAY it looks.
Where is the classic turn-based battle mode???
Watching reviews to get the spark to play again. I’m at chapter three. I really enjoy the dialogue.
so cool! been wanting to do this for a while. hadnt considered ds box. very nice
Hmm what 😮
I know right! Fool me once…
I enjoyed the whole discussion! Jordan has a great way of keeping the podcast moving and I enjoyed the comments and banter between you both. However I have to say, it made me so happy (and vindicated) to hear that Paige really dislikes the lack of Splatfest-specific stages in Splatoon 3. I was so flustered about that when it became apparent and I'm still miffed to be honest.
Thanks for the warm comment! Glad you enjoyed the episode!
I still had all but Edge at lv 60+ here.
I STILL had all but YANG at lv 60+ here.
basically: Falcom is still an old fogey about localizations.
It won't load the game for me on latest deck os and game 😢😢😢
