What is the level of the internal grinder?
Thanks for this video. I’m wondering what is the tallest travel mug that I can use under the coffee dispenser? Will it fit an 8” tall mug? Can’t find that information anywhere.
Hello, my milk is frothing huge bubbles
@myonamajiet3779 hello. The tip of the steam wand needs to be inserted at tip. If it is to deap it will blow big bubbles.
@myonamajiet3779 ruclips.net/video/NqfCIsVpYr0/видео.htmlsi=-Urm2qLsqSTMh4BZ This is a link to a video on the basics of steaming and or frothing milk on the la Specialista range of matchine's it may help you.
i find the normal filters better than the dual wall ones. can't beat fresh coffe either.
@@kimbridge5592 what do you classify as normal filters
@@derekmenkensmyhomecafe. sorry the single wall ones that come with it. and that coffee shops use. i think the dual wall ones are for pre grond and supermarket beans. but mostly ground. so i heard.
you sure you tamped that enough. looked a little high. i got this machine 2 months ago. i use it in manual mode most of the time. i like that you can do manual or auto for coffee or milk. i do a blind shot first to heat portafilter and group first much better. love the grinder on this model. i only wish being volumetric. you could change it by miliitres. i have set to custom but it is preset amounts. next machine i might get one with heated group head. but they are expensive for what i use it for. love my breville hope it lasts 10 years like my last machine which was a fully automatic which i wont buy again. great machine but more controll with my breville
Tamping without stirring is never a good idea. Coffee grounds will be clumping together and uneven.
I have never had a problem with tamping with out using a widget.
It seems your bag came with almost everything apart from the one piece of information used to ascertain it's fresh: the date on which it was roasted
Hi it was bar coded on the back at the bottom of the bag. Roast on date 12/5/2024. And bet before date 12/5/2025. They use both in Malaysia.
which kind milk used
Good morning I use fuul cream fresh milk.
I've just won this model in a prize draw. I was delighted to come across your video, which explains things far better than the Nespreso videos or the user guide. Thank you.
Your very welcome. Glad it helped you. 😊
Which kind of milk do you used?
Good morning and thanks for watching. I use full cream Dairy milk in all my Milk based Coffees. 😊
@@derekmenkensmyhomecafe. Long-life milk or fresh milk?
Fresh milk , but keep some long life for standby. I get good Results from both when I steam or froth milk.😊
I also have the Touch Impress and enjoying itb very much.
Double press the brew button to get a milk friendly extraction.
Yes im already aware of that . Thank you 😊
Have you gotten Error09? Machine shuts off during milk steaming?
Hi it is a indication to clean the steam wand tip.
Couldn’t understand one word you said. Th I couldn’t understand one thing you said. Hoed insane . Try to speak more clearly . It was nothing but a bunch of mumble jumble 😮
It is perfectly clear and understandable when i watch it back.
Check your settings on your device you watching it on.
@@derekmenkensmyhomecafe. I'm a Spanish speaker and I completely understood every word. Great video, don't listen to that guy.
I've just got a bottomless for mine but having nothing but issues with extraction. Just splutters everywhere, which obviously is an issue with the stock one to (but its contained) No idea what's wrong
Hi the spatter you are getting is a sign of grind size to corse.set your grind size finer. And extraction time to 30 seconds for a Double filter basket.
I would suggest small amounts of change first till you get a steady stream with a flow and crema colour of honey.
@@derekmenkensmyhomecafe. I can get my grind down to about 9, it stops the splutter but really stops the flow, to the point a 30s extraction doesn't extract enough
A Double espresso shot is between 70 mll & 80 mll and coffee should start to flow at about 8 to 10 seconds on the timer display.
If it starts earlier the grind is to course,if it starts after 10 seconds the grind is to fine. If you adjust your grind size to archive this you are on the right track.
My crema system seems to just spit out small amounts of cream. It’s never that much. Is there a way to fix this? It’s brand new and having issues with it
Hi have you disassemble the head and soaked in warm water for 10 minutes then rinced all components?
I highly recommend brewing your coffee first into the cup and then starting the milk. The espresso shot can comfortably sit for a while and it won't go bad, but the milk will go bad VERY quickly. It will lose froth quickly when left sitting there for just a mere couple minutes.
and as soon as the coffe has poured you can do your milk straight away. no waiting or purging like dearer machines. i to do my coffee first now. much better
Is the time it brews consistent at around 30 seconds? My machine goes anywhere from 19 to 28 seconds on the same grind size from one shot to the next.... What firmware version are you on?
Hi persason😊. Thank you for watching the video. The brew time will generally never be the same each time. It will Depend on the freshness of your Beans the impress dose and tamp system will pick up minor differences in freshness. And give you the indication as what to do to correct it and will remember that for the next time.
@@derekmenkensmyhomecafe. Thanks for the reply. I was more interested in the brew time performed for example on the same day. If I make 3 shots right after each other brew times can varry significantly
With the brew time yes you will have a difference in brew time,if you get a espresso shot of 80 mll you are on the right track. The brew time difference can be anything from around 5 seconds on extraction time.
In regards to firmware I will check on that and let you know soon.
Are you getting a green line when you dose your portafilter each time?
Is the Latissima worth the labor of having to take the milk frother apart at least once per week to deep clean? Or is it easier just to have the separate frother that you can clean thoroughly clean in under a minute?
Yes I personally think it is worth it.
Do you disassemble and clean the milk container after each use? I thought you could store the milk container in the fridge, but the website says you have to clean it after each use. It seems like a pain to have to completely take it apart after each use. That cancels out the convenience of the integrated frother.
Hi Jewel no need to disassemble the milk container after each drink. Just do a rinse cycle as recommended in the manual. Disassemble and clean the milk container with every second fill of the milk container. That is what I do with out any issues.
@@derekmenkensmyhomecafe. Thank you! How many times do you use the milk container before you refill it?
Hi I often get 2 standed milk recipe drinks out of one full container. Fill milk container 2 times 3 at Max, Refrigerate in between fill ups then Disassemble and wash everything.
Thanks very much for the video, we have just received our machine. Looking at the recipe at 2:02 I interpret that as one red for the heat and one white for the foam? I would have also double clicked the coffee button? Does the double click of the coffee button half or double the volume of coffee? cheers.
The double click of the coffee button will give you a shorter extraction of coffee. Mare than half but less than full.
Thak you for watching the video.🙂
@@derekmenkensmyhomecafe. Thanks 👍

Good morning Brooke😊. This is the link to where I got the portafilter from. Let me now if you find it please😊
Excellent video. I have read some negative reviews in regards to the reliability of the Touch Impress. Mainly that the machine tends to shut off in the middle of brewing or frothing the milk. Have you experienced anything similar?
Hi thank you for watching the video. In regards to your question no I haven't experienced any of the issues you mentioned.

Amateur hour, pouring the milk of screen
Hello. Can you please give me more information on your comment 🙏
@@derekmenkensmyhomecafe. I believe he was hoping to see you clearly show the cup in front of the camera as you are pouring the milk. It was off-screen for most of the pour, but he was also being rude about his comment for no reason.
useless video!!!
this coffee machine simply does not make foam. I have had several other coffee machines, but this one is by far the weakest. I do not recommend it to anyone.
I don't understand why you say that I have made foam and steamed milk for all drinks both manually and with automatic system with Dairy and non Dairy milk.
Which bottomless portafilter are you using, link please.
The portafilter is Available from Breville. I purchased it online from Breville online store.

Hi, Derek. Do you mind to invete me to your home cafe?
Hi may i ask why? Where are you located?
I am originally from UA, but it is not a big deal to visit ur location though@@derekmenkensmyhomecafe.
Are you in western Australia?
how much did pkg weigh ? or machine weigh ?
Hi I will weigh the matchene and let you know what it the weight is.
Too many mistakes.. could not follow… can’t get the water hardness set. You shut off you camera and come back on with a different screen REALLY
Yes Really. Im sorry you could not follow the video. Yes it took a few tries to get the settings done. In the end I achieved what iset to do. The screen the different video clips were for the different steps in the process. I hope you got you test completed 😊
Hi Derek, thanks a lot for all the videos posted on breville products. I’d like to pick one semi auto machine, my short list includes the barista express impress and the touch impress. Since I’m more interested in good quality shots and less on milk drinks, the express impress is still a good option although the touch impress specs are superior. Also those 600euros less to spend on the express impress are a thing. I also have to deal with the kitchen counter, which is not that wide, could you please tell how much the express impress is deeper than the touch impress. Thank you
Hi sorry for the late response. I take a few measurements and a short video for you and get back to you asap.
And Barista Touch Impress vs Oracle Touch - which do you prefer? 😊
Hi Derek, I'm not a vertuo coffee girl myself, but good video 😊 didn't know they made a Vertuo Creatista 😊 I've got the Creatista Pro 😊 I was wondering though, have you had any issues with the Breville/Sage machines at all? After reading a lot of complaints on the internet, regarding Breville/Sage machines with especially steam issues, it scares me a bit to advance into the Touch Impress because of the price tag, if it has somewhat the same build as the others 🤷🏼♀️
Hi thank you for watching the video 😊 Nice choice in having the cratista pro,I have one also. In answer to your question,I have 4 Breville bean to cup coffee machines, I have had no issues with any of them, I believe that with regular care and cleaning we will get best out of all that I have. Feel free to watch the videos I have done with the Breville barista express impress..
Breville barista touch,Breville barista touch impress, Breville Oracle touch they may give you a insight into the life of espresso and cafe quality coffee at home. If I can help with future questions please don't hesitate to ask. Sincerely from Derek 😊
@@derekmenkensmyhomecafe. Thank you, I will 😊
I suggest running the grinder for a few seconds to allow the adjustments to settle.
Good morning ladies 😊 Thank you for watching the video. On the inner bur grinder I have a setting of 6 the same as what you have, however on dial on the side I have a setting of 9 if your beans are reasonably fresh these settings should put the gauge needle in the optimum Range when you extract your espresso shot.
What is your inner grinder set to? I’m using illy beans and have been having so much trouble getting the right setting. Currently my inner grinder is set to 6 and outter is 16 ….. everything is so off. I’ve read manual and went through to cans of coffee😢
To make a latte in a 440ml mug you will need to use a 80ml pod.
In the video I made today I used a 440ml mug.
To make a latte using a 230 mll pod you will need a 590 mll cup or mug to allow sufficient space in the mug to hold the amount of frothed milk it will Deliver using the Automatic system.
Hi Derek. Just an after thought. With the glass you used in your video today, would that glass be big enough to make a Latte using a 230 ml pod and the Latte setting on the milk Frother? If so, this would work for me seeing as using the foam button manually would be no good for someone without vision not knowing how full the glass would be. My main reason for buying this machine is because I have problems pouring the right amount of milk in to the glass and the milk frother would solve this problem for me if it automatically turned off if producing a Latte.
A latte is made up of double espresso and milk. 230ml coffee pod is not recommended. Also the glass is not big enough.
Thanks so much derek for trying to brew a flat white. We know that it does not work so for my situation probably a 80 ml pod brewing a latte would work best for me. Other alternative is continue to brew 230 ml pods and not have milk from the frother on top. Maybe Nespresso will bring out an update or a machine in future for brewing flat white coffees. derek, have you connected your Vertuo Lattissima to wi-fi and checked for an update? curious to know whether this feature exists in this model seeing as the Vertuo next can be updated. Really appreciate your videos Derek.
I hope you don't mind me asking? Are you totally blind or do you some sight?
what is the manual you describe in 3:44 minutes of your video? Thanks
Hi there the Manuel I referd to is known as the coffee Guide, and is supplied with the purchase of the coffee machine. The section I used is the perfect Espresso settings Table.
Hi Derek. I want to thank you for producing this video. I am really wanting to buy this machine. As a blind person I found your video very descriptive and very helpful. I have one question. I usually use a 230 ml mug size pod so am I able to make a latte with a 230 ml pod or would this size pod produce too much coffee and not much milk. Thanks Derek.
Hi Scott thank you for watching the video im so glad it was able to help you. 😊. In answer to your question, ad long as you have a cup big enough to take the amount of coffee and milk it will brew yes you can. The amount of coffee and milk are both pourd and set by the bar code the matchene reads when the desired pod is put into the coffee matchine.
@@derekmenkensmyhomecafe. Hi Derek. Can this machine produce flat white coffees or is it only espresso and latte based coffee? I was not sure because you mentioned in your video espresso and latte and I assume these are the only coffees this machine can make. I wonder if it is possible to make a flat white coffee similar to the ones you purchase at 7 eleven service stations? I also assume Miss machine is easy to clean and with the milk dial you mentioned in your video, does the dial have two different settings a setting for foam and I can’t remember what the other setting was for on the milk dial. Thank you so much Derek.
The milk based drinks it can make is a capitino and latte makiatto. The position on the dial, one is for milk frothing (middle) To the left is t remove for cleaning, to the right is too rinse after use. For the milk carafe. In regards to a flat white im not sure if it can. But I'm planning to do another video featuring the foam button, I will try and make a flat white in that video.
@@derekmenkensmyhomecafe. I look forward to your upcoming video Derek

What settings you are using for the grind, inside the grinder and on the wheel?
Hi thank you for watching the video. The grind size is #10. For a medium roast blend of beans. With a double wall filter basket. But this may vary a little depending upon freshness of your coffee beans.
How fresh were your beans in this video?
Great video mate

Good morning I prefer the Oracle touch.
can the entire milk system go in the fridge or do i need to remove the plastic part?
The intier milk system can be put in the fridge were ever can fit it . I would suggest that you leave it there for a short time only though. I.E:48 hours.
