He reminds me of the earliest videos of Justin Bieber when he had a hard job singing in tune. It's truly amazing what a few years of persistent practice does to anyone's performance. I think that Alexi, 10 yrs on, is now the most gracefully thing on 2 legs. He might not yet jump the highest but he knows what to do with his long arms and legs and they always seem to be in exactly the right place. Names like Nuryev and Barishnikov come to mind. Give him another 5 years and he will be jumping more than 6 inches higher and spinning faster. His artistic sense is evident when several falls at the end of a performance were rapidly made to seem like an intended event.
