I think that with sprite is a lot to do with the culture differences but yeah he can come across as body shaming. But let's not keep John off the hook ... some of his actions towards Sprite was borderline too. :P

We totally agree. it is an art to create well rounded characters that do not feel like caricatures( a bit like in Gimme Gimme Gimme that we have covered in a previous video.).Vicious succeeded in making us care deeply for these couple of "old queens" so much that at the end we couldnt help but to cry a little at the end of the show😅

Nothing wrong with the term 'gay' . the 'Q' word is just used here to have a broarder sense than the word gay(ie:to describe a broad spectrum of non-normative sexual or gender identities and politics) . But we do understand that some people would may be feel uneasy to hear this word due to its past pejorative meaning.

Honestly, I always thought it an amazing achievement that the movement managed to so completely redefine the word "queer" that my generation, born early eighties, has to be reminded of its former use as a slur. I do understand however how its use can make older generation uneasy.

totally agree @gnommg . I feel that the word really allow to look at the broader side of our subculture. At times the term Gay can be so reductive, especially when we look back at works by John waters or even Gregg Arraki

Yes, that was something that stuck with me from this show as well. I can't think of any shows at the time that were exploring this in depth. It was nice to see.

we have been going blind on this season and so far it seems to provide us a more detailed universe to explore. after 2 épisodes we are still waiting to see where they will bring us but the creep factor is definetely there. Like we mentioned in the video, AHS always started with grand stories and ideas but usually end up faltering badly at the end. being a book adaptation might help on that respect. the book has at least been added on my list of things to read now

The ending of Lost was a disappointment for a lot of people and this was one fear we had going into this show but so far we feel that the mystery is well defined and hopefully the 'box' will slowly be opened to us. A second season for a show is always complicated as the writer need to find ways to expand the lore and get the story going in the right direction,(Mr Robot has the same issue with a second season that was really subpar compared to the first and the subsequent ones) but the last few episodes did give us some great scenes which thrilled us immensely .Concerning the introduction of new characters, it is a shame that the show format(10 episodes only comparared to 22 episodes when lost was a thing) does not allow us to spend more time with them, to get to know them better. we stay mostly on the originals and the new one feels like set up for kills or to populate the background.Randall is the exception, he seems to have a more defined role that really bring a sense of danger amongst the survivor that was missing. Overall, with two episodes left for this season and a third season already confirmed(with the addition of a babywhich could be another way for the writer to mess with our mind) we are not leaving this sleepy little town yet .

this is an interresting theory. The fact that more and more people seems to be getting visions now could mean we might get some answers this season , who knows? We are really intrigued by the fact that the 1950s seems to be overly present in the show. should we start looking at the cold war and all the experiments that was made during this time for some answers ? what do you think @thetherapistview ?
