You have a beautiful wife. Great life you have. Stay blessed
Hello Dave, my girlfriend is fillipina and currently works and lives in Israel. I am retired and want us to live in the Philippines. I am currently in the US and have my passport. We both enjoy your videos and subscribe. Can you give me some advice on what and how to live there, like what i need to stay there permanently, ie visa, passport etc. Thank you, Rich
just curious - what is that noise in the background? is it a racetrack?
Bullfrogs, it just rained hard for hours-then the frogs go crazy. Take care
Amen brother
I'll be 67 this month. I agree with all you've stated in this video. Maybe someday i'll make the move to southeast Asia. Enjoy👍🙏👍
You deserve to live a life where you are not working your life away like you used to do. Good for you! So many in the Philippines work their lives away just to have food to eat for themselves and their dependents. Here we work our lives away to maintain a western lifestyle. When I and my wife make our move to the Philippines it will have to be part time there and part time here. We will have to keep our lifestyle over here simple. Just one car instead of three and three is necessary for us now due to my wife’s line of work. No boat and no swimming pool and no hot tub. There is a part of me that wishes I could just sell it all and live in the Philippines full time but I and my wife have our three grown sons here and one is looking to get married soon. I also want to live simple in the Philippines. Beautiful homes and multiple vehicles require a lot of money to maintain.
🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
It's not just the seaside areas that have a rust problem. We have had to replace our water tower and the metel parts of our wall. More to come! Nice area of Samar. I do like that area.
Build on the hill you won’t regret it. Tell your wife that this is the Autumn of your life and when you’re gone she can move to the concrete jungle.
Nice!
how did you guys meet and date before marrying

Hi Dave 😅I agree 💯👍 about living on the Ocean I lived on the Nth. Coast of NSW, north of Sydney about 5 hours on the Pacific Ocean in a place called Coffs Harbour......awesome place and coastline, probably some of the best beaches in Australia 🦘........BUT 😮 the Rust and corrosion was incredible, from inside our Appointment, Piano copped it inside and out anything Brass gonzo!! 😮 And the car and all of my experience tools etc etc. It's unbelievable. Thanks for today's tour of u're getaway.....Enjoy.😊
Appreciate it! Take care
I have my passport so what else do i need to live in the Philippines
How far of a scoot is it up to Allen from Calbayog? I presume you have to head north past Lonoy? Never been out past Malajog. Definitely a trip I'll take when I'm over next, looks beautiful
@mduckod992 1.5 hr from Calbayog-it’s an amazing ride and beautiful views.
A quick question Dave, if you have a house built in the Philippines before you retire, would maybe 1300 be feasible?
@@mduckod992 Once everything is purchased and medical/emergency savings on the side-you could make it work-not much wiggle room. Have your own 🐣 chickens-garden-cut cost where you can then yes. Just make sure that savings doesn’t get touched. Take care
@@maudave sorry I should have clarified, I'd be talking in terms of British pounds, so essentially $1700 , I live slap bang on the northern Irish border with the Republic of Ireland. That old chestnut 🤣
Gotcha-you’ll be fine then.
Your 3 biggest expenses in the Philippines are Housing, food and electricity. If you have a guaranteed monthly income of 1300 British pounds ($1700 USD) and you have a place to stay that is paid for, you will definitely live comfortably in the Philippines. This is assuming you are in good health, with no major medical condition and you have a partner who is budget conscious and doesn’t have a family who is constantly looking for help or handouts.
Block me i dont give a shit! Take back my subscription, fuck U!
No couch in my apartment. I've got a desk with my plastic chair, yoga mat and my bicycle in my living room. I'm not about to put western furniture in my Filipino home. and I'm all about the calisthenics man!

Filipinos are truly "Off Grid" People in the West don't know what poor is. I'd love to have a hut like this for weekend getaway's. Cheers Dave!
One of my favorite places to visit- Very peaceful…
I'm a single guy, frugal, cook my own food and make my own coffee. My rent for 1 bd apartment plus utilities is about $1,000/month plus my food bill: i eat 3 pounds of burger/day at $5/pound comes to $15/day equals $450, I'll round up to $500 with tax and about $40 for my coffee. not including car insurance, gas, etc... my monthly bill is about $1600, and I keep it simple. Cheers!
Nice living- Very few can do what you’re doing. Take care

I agree with each of you chicken feet is a waste of time and yes, dear sour crowd is gross but that’s my opinion
Lol
Yup …. I’m moving to the Philippines in February… I also have a beautiful girlfriend with a beautiful 1 year old daughter who is adorable. I should be North of $3,000 a month but I’ll start a channel as well… I agree with you as I’ve been to the Philippines several times ….😊
That’s a good budget- You should be able to have a good life and save- I have a budget over that but rarely spend over $1500-$1800. Safe travels and congrats with your girlfriend and daughter. Thanks for your support of the channel. Take care
Thank you for serving our beautiful country! 40 yo guy here, considering a move to the PH in the next couple of years if I can build my YT channel and get monetized. One of my hobbies is woodworking, and I have a lot of quality hand tools. Should I consider keeping my tools and have them shipped or is there a source for good hand tools such as chisels and bench plane's? Cheers Dave!
@@primalpassion Oh man-you and I could talk for hours about this. My first RUclips channel was “Two Shawns Woodworking”. I will continue that channel when I finish my shop. I sold everything-regret not sending some things over. Hard part is ⚡️ electric, being 220 and not 120. Small tools-hand planners nick back tools- Amazon ships things here-big cities you can get good power tools. We should chat sometime (messenger) and go over some of the items. Thanks for the support-check out the other channel-I only put 5 videos out-woodworking does very well. Talk soon Take care

@@maudave Yes we should chat sometime. I have a collection of Lie-Nielson chisels and bench planes boxed up. Think I'll keep these and have them shipped to the PH. I can buy power tools when i get there. Just found your channel today. where do you live? I'll have to visit your shop in the future. Cheers!
@@maudave Appreciate it! I'm starting to get some traction. The focus of my channel is wearing 100% organic cotton clothing, and barefoot shoes. I strive to live a healthy lifestyle and enjoy these topics. Eventually I'll transition into a travel-vlog and hopefully a homestead PH channel with a lovely Filipina.

Great video, man. Well-done on retiring early. You earned it. I've always worked a lot, but not nearly to the standard that you did. @maudave I'm looking fwd to it. Unfortunately I have just over 3 years to go. But we will start the house now and hopefully it will be ready when I retire.
I spent 20 Years active service Army as an Infantryman / Ranger / Airborne, I had 5 bilateral knee replacements I knew when I joined the Army this is the job I wanted, the hardest / most dangerous job, I love the Army, I don't regret anything, I live in the Philippines but I'm going back to the USA to live my last years before I die, I love my country no matter what people say or complain, It's only a small percentage of the population who complains. He moved to the Philippines because his wife is Filipina, I'd doubt he'll move there if he were single.

@@maudave I’m not going to visit. My daughters asked me if I was. I told them that I wasn’t. I told them, If I get there and don’t like it, I’ll move to Thailand. If I don’t like Thailand, I’ll move to Italy, or Mexico. I want to live on the beach in the province, wear shorts 365 days/year, work out and eat good food. My budget will be $1,250.00/month for utilities, WiFi, etc, and another $1,000.00/month for food and travel. I’ll still have plenty of money left over. Philippines appeal to me because I don’t like the cold, 90 percent speak English, beaches, Catholic (I’m Protestant and Catholic is fine), cost of living and I want to live a simple life. Tired of these fake people who drive around in a $100,000.00 car make $40,000.00/year.
