Welcome new crafter Marina! I am using the Sizzix Stencil & Stamp Tool. I love this one because you can also purchase a ‘stamp wheel’ accessory which allows you to make stamp wreaths & an extension which allows you to stamp & stencil on books, journals or anything thicker.

@@katrinamurphy1493 In my personal experience, they stamp the same as stamping with photopolymer (clear) stamps. I was frustrated with foam because depending upon the pressure, the foam could force recessed parts of the image down onto the paper ie. the tummy of a chick would get a smudge because the foam forced it into the ink & onto the paper 😢. I have been using unmounted stamps for 20 years & would never go back 😊. Hope I answered that okay, please reach out if I can help any further! 🤗

I know you’re going to really like your stamp and stencil but with the mat you’re going to LOVE it! Since you’re one handed, I’m thinking you may want to keep a ruler as spacer between the mat and lid instead of the plastic grid sheet as it definitely requires the strength of 2 hands for me to remove it but a ruler would easily be removed 😊❤

No not a machine, I just misspoke, the stamp platform is 2 plastic pieces hinged together to close like a book and I put the photopolymer sticky mat on the bottom layer to hold the paper in place while I stamp. 😊

It’s been on my Stencil & Stamp tool for 6 months now & while it might lift a little on the corner when I pull up the plastic, it hasn’t left the tool surface even once! And the waffle pattern is against the tool surface so that tells you how strong the grip is! Trust me, you won’t be sorry! By the way, I misspoke in the video when I said silicone, it’s actually photopolymer, the same material clear stamps are made from.

I bought the Memory Keepers sticky mat but not thrilled with the stamping. Is the Altenew a little thinner?

@@susanlefevre632​​⁠I haven’t seen the WeR mat so I couldn’t compare but the Altenew Mat is approximately 1/8” thick. I have no issues using my stamp platform with it. If you wanted to use foam backed stamps you would need to purchase the Sizzix extension for this platform.

They have different stickiness ones also

Hi @bjack! This mat is not ‘gel’ like a gel plate, it is made from the same photopolymer that acrylic stamps are made from & acrylic stamps can remain on their plastic sheets indefinitely, without harm. This plastic sheet is actually what came attached to the stamp grid when I purchased it from Altenew. I haven’t had any issues for the last 6 months but I will keep my eye out for signs of trouble 😊

Absolutely! 😊 #1-Goo Gone! At least that’s what it’s called in Canada. I buy it at Canadian Tire, it’s a product that came out about 2-3 decades ago to remove gum from carpets etc. it has an orange oil scent. It completely breaks down glue, just work a little under a corner, give it a few minutes then start peeling back. Add more as needed. #2-but more expensive, UnDu. This product came out during scrapbooking’s boom, especially to remove adhesive from photos & sticky albums, without harming the photo at all! Same technique to remove. #3-Blow dryer. Heat will loose the adhesive however be careful not to burn yourself! Hope that helps & I’m so glad you found my channel too 🤗

I stuck mine to a glass cutting mat I already had - it stays on there so I don’t need to peel on and off; it’s now portable; and, I as I said in another comment, I cover the top with a Dollar Tree cutting mat so it stays clean and dust free between uses. Good luck!

I do that very thing all the time but since I was demonstrating a ‘kit’ I was worried about confusing people by straying away from the included instructions. I do highly recommend cutting out anything that would be covered up 😊👍🏻 Thanks for posting that for others and I will make mention of it in my next video! ❤

@@melittasmakin Roller. Sigh. If it doesn't work all the way, use a crumbless eraser first, then the lint roller.

@@melittasmakin waffleflower makes the mats in many sizes, I have the one that fits the misti but I don't use it that way. Was considering getting another for my stampin up stamparatus (discontinued platform) but decided to go BIG with the 9x12 like you did.
