The control the pilot has in this case is just incredible .... but give him a old fashioned gas powered 5 ft 10 pound plane and he has no idea how to fly it .....

Idiots! The AMA Safety Rules mean nothing to this flight field, the club or pilots. You fly over people, vehicles and do stunts too close to the crowd and ground. Academy of Model Aeronautics is very clear about flight field safety.

As a real planes pilot myself I reckon this pilot has superior coordination skills. However it is likely that he himself caused a flame-out of the turbine with those air-depriving manoeuvers. If people are going to risk destruction of their high tech ultra expensive toys, they are either too rich or too dumb, or both.

I can appreciate all the genuine remarks and the applause for the RC pilot's flying skills...apparently these remarks do not take into account that the $20,000 toy is now expensive junk...I'm unable to appreciate the manner in which it returned to the terra -firma. Many enthusiasts are likely to profess that this is merely a part of the overall experience. I'll have to remember this when I slip into the left seat to fly again.
