So, for me to like my work, I have to realize that about every 10 paintings can produce 1 really good one that I like and feel like it’s good enough. Loved your answer to that too!

Often the more we show up the more we can move the needle from 1 out of 10 to a higher number. For the process of expression, some will be bold and wonderful, and some may suck. That is all part of the growth

I’m so glad you are an expressive artist! I feel like I am too I’m sure I can learn a lot from you. the painting I brought to the last group was really not me. I actually just did that one with a bunch of non artists at a women’s retreat. I thought it would be easy to draw and I had them paint with any colors they wanted and encouraged them to use mixed colors.

Yes Noel. Expressive painting allows for touching into life experiences, successes and challenges. To me this is a throughline to my coaching and teaching and to my own art. Thanks for showing up

The uncomfortable way of feeling when you do art and what Sara is feeling is exactly how I feel! Sometimes I've done art in the past that it's unexplainable, it's almost a feeling within, deep inside that is hidden, not wanting to come out at all, and it makes us vulnerable to the world because we don't want to show our vulnerability, we want to keep it to ourselves! I'm not a painter, more like a sketch type of artist, but I have not in many years done any type of drawings, other than doodles in a drawing journal I have. My fascination has been charcoal, love how freeing it can be, but also how intimidating it can be! I really need to get back to my artistic self and express these emotions within me! Thank you both so much for sharing this with us! ❤

Sylvia, thank you for sharing your perspective here. I appreciate your honesty and opening up. Yes, opening up and getting back to your artistic self can be a wonderful breakthrough. Sincerely, Daniel
