      Cult: 1) a system of religious veneration and devotion directed toward a particular figure or object 2) a misplaced or excessive admiration for a particular person or thing The only way CrossFit could be considered a cult is an “excessive admiration” for fitness. Is that really such a bad thing?

    This is by no means a realistic class: - His demo is absolutely below average, he bends his needs on his arch positions - All his progressions where empty reps, I didn’t record any specific or general que other than (ara boy mat, which I don’t even understand), second one was good Erin. - His crew was all staged, all of them had toes to bar. If you want to create realistic content please film a real class, with real people that have less than 1 year experience in CrossFit. Imaging if he had 2 new athletes, 2 injured aging athletes and two athletes who even can’t hang, that’s a real class. Let me see how he handles that then we will see how strong is his level4. I am sorry guys but this is weak

    • @kiffe22
      @kiffe22 10 дней назад

      To make your scenario more challening: add 2 Quarterfinals (or higher) athletes in there who can string 20+ ttb and who are standing there bored, trying to find any value in your coaching. I was surprised when seeing this advertised as "L4 coach" as well. On top of the bad demo. I heard the name Meridith 4 times and everyone else was just "doing great". He wasn't correcting or helping anyone with anything. No one seemed particularly focused on his cues (including himself) probably because they all already have the movement down. This is group managment, not coaching.

      @toddocchiuto4491 11 дней назад

      @cathicakes I love that option and that’s exactly what I would do as well. I’ll even continue through the knee raises with one foot remaining on the ground and one knee coming up at a time.

    • @spencergsmith
      @spencergsmith 11 дней назад

      @@jimmycisneros5920 mobility can be improved through controlled, full ROM movements, but if swings are painful for the athlete, then perhaps a substitution such as GHD sit-ups or V-ups would be useful while they work on rehabbing their shoulder through banded pull-aparts or external rotation presses.

    Amazing how many ex CF athletes are introducing bodybuilding style work in their programmes. Maybe it is not as bad as Glassman made so many believe. Every methodology has Pros & Cons. An intelligent coach uses all of them instead of religiously adopting only one

      @@jeff_howard_afk sure. So why demonize it like Glassman did? It's a powerful tool that can and should be used when the adaptations it induces are useful to our athletes. That's why smart coaches ignore the old preachings and include BB in their programmes

    • @spencergsmith
      @spencergsmith 8 дней назад

      @@samuele.marcoraas Chad said in the interview, BB is not nearly as holistic and effective as CrossFit, so it should only be used for specific people who want a specific result (hypertrophy). If you aren’t a professional or competitive athlete, and you only have one, MAYBE two hours to devote to training each day, you would benefit far greater from focusing on functional movements, skillwork, rehab/prehab work, etc. rather than chasing the pump.

    Hahaha the moral obligation Was to Greg. Gyms don’t own anything to private equity. Gyms make a decision about whether they are getting something for their fees. Many many gyms are deciding that the brand name is not worth it. I would suggest that the brand is detrimental to gyms. It is absurd that protecting the brand is a focus. Deliver value to affiliates by promoting the brand positively. SEO comes without trying when you create compelling content. Redirecting leads to affiliates is the bare minimum and it was rolled out horribly. My entire profile was fully updated and it showed up secondary to a gym that had been opened half as long and had not updated their profile, and their website link was broken. #donfail
