Why did you buy the 325mm instead of the 305mm? The original is 305mm I think?
Thanks for the video. Good tips. Will order one in a few days.
my dirtbike posture is still just as bad... at least no mention of two of us running off the track
Haha thought I would be nice, but your definitely a dirt bike rider at heart still.
Que bueno. Es posible cambiar de tambor a disco,? y tener suspensión independiente la parte posterior de las ruedas se podria cambiar?
I have seen some disk brake conversion kits but they are expensive and I believe unnecessary unless you are wanted to tow something heavy or something like that and as for the suspension the front in independent and the rear is a solid axle.
hi, do you have the link of radiator?
Yes their you go, just note that you will have to modify the radiator shroud to fit and modify the power steering fluid bottle bracket. www.ebay.com.au/itm/196573183443?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=705-154756-20017-0&ssspo=zerxr0qpt2w&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=fdql7lvqqau&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
where did you purchase these parts I have a 1999 H25A I wanna. Upgrade like this for offroad
So all of the CV shafts and standard Suzuki parts are just from car wrecking yards second hand and the air lockers and air compressor are from Alibaba (contacted a seller/importer who had the right air lockers in stock, part numbers can be found in the video, if buying from alibaba be careful of scams) you can also buy the air lockers from TRE4x4 or ARB.
Greetings. Did you raise your vitara
Yeah, so my vitara has a 2 inch extra articulation suspension lift (2inch springs with 3inch longer shocks), 2inch body lift to create clearance for larger tyres and in this video I have 30inch tyres (lifts the car differentials 1.5 inches higher off the ground than stock) I have now fitted 31 inches higher off tyres.
Hello, I completely gamed a Honda AX1 250 motorcycle, I also gamed several trail motorcycles, the videos are on my RUclips channel.
Hello, I completely gamed a Honda AX1 250 motorcycle, I also gamed several trail motorcycles, the videos are on my RUclips channel.
Nice work mate, keep it up
Relocate the mount holes for spare wheel mount...
Yeah I worked out the only reason I have a clearance issue with my rear wheel is due to my bumper sitting slightly high at the rear
245/75/16 muds don't rub with 2" body lift
Yeah I’m about to get some 245/75/16 for my road tyres I think
I fitted 245/75/16 s on my grand vitara , just need a 2" body lift
Nice, what brand of tyres did you get?
What is the point of this? On the vitara there is a switch between 2H and 4H. I think when you are on 2H, you drive only with rear differential. Can you please explain this?
The standard set up in the grand Vitara’s has the front cv shafts constantly spinning even when in 2wd and when the car is put into 4wd the cv shafts are engaged in the front diff. This system works and operates fine however the constant spinning of the cv shafts can cause a few problems. 1. You can wear out your cv shafts a bit faster. 2. There are bearing inside your front differential that are constantly spinning causing wear. 3. The spinning cv shafts and parts of the front differential that are spinning cause more drag in your drive line causing reduced fuel efficiency. And when modifying your front differential to fit air lockers the free wheeling hubs must be fitted as your basically fit the front differential out of the 90’s model vitara and they require free wheeling hubs.
i have 285/75/R16 bfg muds on my grand vitara v6 1" body lift 3" extreme liftkit that moves the wheels further out to the front and back. and a 5.1 diff from a old vitara
wow, those are some pretty big tyres for a grand vitara. I love it haha
Did you go with alteredego suspension, or something else? I'm on the fence on whether or not I want to go with them, they are definitely pricey. The four and a half inch lift seems like a bit much, and I was considering the 3-in kit although it doesn't look quite as nice. Possibly throw a one inch body lift with the 3-in suspension lift to give me some room between the frame and body for some other ideas I have.
@@S-ed7zu no its a 4xfourart suspension they are from turkey
Hey mate just wondering that atoto headunit you chucked in, did you need a fascia adapter kit or just cut about and made it fit?
The atoto radio just fit straight in the standard hole, no cutting was required I just had to unbolt the standard radio and the clock and little shelf
Ah sweet thanks mate actually already got it sorted haha bought an eonon one that fit perfect. Now I'm up to a snorkel haha, I can't seem to find any that aren't like 250 total from the UK and was wondering if you know any way to get em cheaper here. Also you mentioned you had to do a bit of a custom fit with some pipe from Bunnings as the stock pipe from the kit was a bit arse. Was wondering if you could just give some more insight for me mate thanks!
@@sirpiecat5070 ahhh nice good to hear. yeah the snorkel is a bit of a pain, I’m building another vitara up to do a full build series (currently just gathering parts) and I can seem to find a snorkel cheap either. The one on my car at the moment was like 90 dollars off of eBay but it appears to be gone now. I’ll have a bit more of a look for you though. The Bunnings pipe was just a pvc 90 degree bend the fit over the factory airbox inlet just before the air filter (Screwed and siliconed the 90 degree bend on) just so the flexible tube from the snorkel made a better seal.
@@BrooksiesBackyard Ah yeah that seems like a good way to do it. Keen to see the other Vitara build, when you reckon you'll upload some videos on that build?
Looks like you can get a snorkel from AliExpress for 200 bucks aud delivered or on alibaba there are some sellers selling snorkels for our cars but it’s more of a bulk buying market place however you may be able to negotiate with the seller to just sell you one.
Great video! Super informative
Cheers, thanks mate
Id advise against going all red, my 2dr is currently all red and constantly trying to find things to accent in different colors to lessen the red. Yours looks great with the silver door bumpers, I wish I had those on mine. I have a lot of paint chips on the rockers and lower doors.
Well I have always wanted to go all red but I have wanted the option to go back so I have just managed to get a second set of the bumpers and door bumpers which I will paint red and then have the option to change back to the original colour scheme. But thank you for the suggestion.
Where did You Buy the timing chain?.
The chain was just bought off of eBay, but you can buy them from AliExpress as well.
90,000kms wow 🤩. Mines only done 29,000 so I’m definitely going to keep it.
Haha yeah I am so surprised but it doesn’t show any signs of giving up so I’m just going to keep riding till it does and see how many kms I can put on it

Where you get your lockers from?
I purchased them from a seller on alibaba and they were delivered in 5 days from china to Australia. Quite pleased with my experience.
Where did you get your lockers from? Any link to online shop?
To be honest they are Chinese lockers I ordered through alibaba, I would post the link of the seller I bought from but they have changed their name or no longer exists so I can’t give you the exact link. But just go on there and find some sellers who sell lockers for Suzukis and see who will give you the best price. Just be wary of ones branded as HF lockers as I have heard negative reviews about them.
Nice bike! Mate 🎉
Thanks, appreciate it

saludos muy bueno el video tambien tengo una grand vitara y le estoy haciendo esto
Nice, it is definitely the best modification you can do to the car
Bought a 02 , xl7, handles great, has some issues,, i got it as a back up car to my always in the shop ranger. Nice to know theres a small cult following in these things not many you see on the road.
Yeah definitely, there is so much you can do to these to make them into an unstoppable 4x4
Any 4WD light solution?
When you say 4wd light solution are you talking about putting it in 4wd and having the light flash on and off?
G'day! With that 2" lift, did you have to change the rear shocks? What about the front? I know you used a camber bolt. Same struts? Thanks mate!
Yeah mate, replaced all of the shocks, if you keep standard shock front and rear the car will be taller but you will gain no extra off-road ability
The shocks came with my 2inch lift kit from zook off road Australia, black raptor brand
Thank you for the info! I just looked it up on Zook...I thought this had a leveling kit/spacers. So, only new shocks and springs for the lift? I didn't see any specs on the site, but those front struts look the same length as the stock ones. How much longer are they?
@@1ring2rule3pigs I have the 2 inch extra articulation kit and can’t say exactly how much longer they where but definitely longer than standard, when flexing I max out on my sway bar when connected and when the sway bar is disconnected the cv shaft maxes out so definitely longer than standard
@@BrooksiesBackyard Awesome. Thanks for your time! 👍
Some additional information. I have a 2002 US spec GV 2.5 4 door. I purchased aftermarket wheels that were supposed to fit but did not. I had to use 30mm spacers and with 235/70R 16 tires there was significant rubbing that required some considerable bashing of the inner fender and trimming of the plastic liners. All is well after said bashing was completed.
Hey mate great little rig what sort of fuel economy you getting on the highway?
It’s awful, 15 mpg on a good day. That being said my vitara is nearing 200,000 miles, great vehicle
Sorry for the late reply, on the highway with 255/70r16 on with 5.12 ratio diff gears I get around 10.5L/100kms which I think is pretty good.
@@BrooksiesBackyard what rpm’s are you hitting on the highway ? Let’s say at 60 mph stock im around 3,000 which I feel is high
@@jeanfrarugama3423 I sit on 3000 rpm at 60mph/100kmh but that is with 5.12 diff gears and 30inch tyres on
Hello, do you have any tips for installing new springs in the front. I got 4cm longer ones with shock absorbers, but I'm having really hard time getting springs on
Yeah, so the best way I found to fit the front springs is to loosen the lower control arm bolds so the control arm will swing freely then hold your spring up on the top spring seat and swing the control arm back up then and get the bottom on the spring to go where it needs to on the lower control arm and then put a jack under the lower control arm and jack it up to compress the spring the install your shock to hold the control arm up so the spring doesn’t drop out. Hope this helps
@@BrooksiesBackyard Thanks for the tip, really appreciate it. We ended lifting the whole front of the car, because at first we only lifted one side. Then we unscrewed the control arm only at the front and also sway bar. That gave us couple of more centimeters to work with and it didn't seem impossible like before. Again, thanks for the help :)
Hey mate, what size tyres are you running on your rig
They are 255/70r16 so around the 30-30.5 mark depending on the tred depth of the tyre
Awesome, looking to get a bit more of a body lift for my Grand Vitara
@@matthewstark3463 to fit anything over 29s you will need to put on extended bump stops or in a body lift but sounds like you know that already
How is it since then? Did it already break down? 😅 I'm considering either this or a yss shock, would love some feedback. Did it also lift the bike, or just the smoother dampening feel btw? Thanks mate!
Well right now it is still working great, and you can set the height of the shock so you have have it higher or lower than standard however the rear linkage design of the bike limits the amount of height increase you can have.
I love the build up, makes me wanna get a Vitara immediately for African adventure...
I just bought mine a week ago. Looking forward to building it up. 😊
Nice, have fun with it, great little cars.
Fantastic bike. I owned one three bikes ago. Couldn't kill it. Two farm bikes came up for sale recently and I'm tempted to follow your lead.

Nice rig mate!
shutup
hey mate, loving the videos are you located in sydney
Thanks mate, and no I am in Qld
my son has a 40mm lift manual front hubs and an airlocker. goes just about anywhere,
Yeah, locked Grand vitaras are basically unstoppable, the only thing that’s holding mine back is the driver haha
hey bro, what year did they switch from 10 bolt rear diffs to 12 bolt rear diffs in the vitaras? cause that is pretty important when sourcing your gears or your locker
Oh yeah, whoops I didn’t even really think of that but I believe 1993 was the change over year so most 1993 rear gears should be right and anything 1994 and up will be correct however if you just get everything (cvs, half shaft, gears, etc) from a 1995+ se or any year sv vitara you will be right. Hopefully that helps.
@@BrooksiesBackyard oh yep I see yeah I'm a 1996 sv420 just can't ever seen to find 12 bolt rear gears for my 12 bolt locker
@@braydenballantyne9309 yeah right that seems strange, you should be able to use your factory gears, but if it helps I got my gears out of a 93 se vitara
Hi. You can machine your ring to fit the ARB locker. I did it with mine rather than change to 5.125 ratio. The air actuator problem is already solved with the ARB. you will just need some hubs.
Nice work, that is good to know
Hi, sry my english is not the best. What is the ARB? and at what air actuator are you talking about? Here is my "problems", i bought yesterday a vitara 99 2.0 petrol, i've seen that the interior fan was very weak, and the radiator fan was working even if i was going 120km/h in the night and it was cold and rainy, is it normal? Some cars uses often the radiator fan, idk. Do you know something about that? thx
in the reality idk if the interior fan i weak or the air flow is blocked bcs i can hear it running good, but air is coming too slow even at max speed
@@altair9637 1. ARB locker and the air actuator we were talking about refers to the front axle. Not related with your questiones 2. This engine radiator fan is not electric, it will always spin regardless it is cold, the engine is hot, etc. It has a clutch to control how fast it spin but not important, it will always spin. 3. My internal fan for the ar conditioner and heating was pretty weak. It turns out it was just the air cabin filter clogged. You have to remove the glove box to change it. Pretty easy and cheap fix. Hope this helps
Mate, I'm always glad to see your update videos, I will definitely be attempting this soon in my rig.
Thanks mate, I definitely recommend the lockers, they just turn the car into an unstoppable weapon. Hopefully it all goes smoothly for you when you get around to doing it.
