    Top talent in the world? Stock price doesnt reflect that. Google is falling behind all other magnificent 7 stocks in the last year to 5 year returns. So no, this argument of attracting top talent isnt working. You people are so spoiled and dont even know what you are saying anymore.

    • @GrapevineSoftware
      @GrapevineSoftware День назад

      Hmm, your comment makes me wonder if you watched the video fully. The video discussing top talent is how remote or flexible work opens up the range to being able to select and attract people beyond a 50 mile radius as we have in the past. The simple understanding of expanding population size in a selection process - will give you the ability to attract THE top talent not just the top talent in the given population in a 50 mile radius. On your last comment, this misconception of being “spoiled” often gets thrown around when discussing remote work. However, it doesn’t really stick given the studies and statistics being shown - companies from knowledge workers to frontline workers are all finding ways to offer remote and flexible work. The ability to give people more options in work doesn’t seem spoiled, it actually is the way forward. The underlining themes of remote work topics are found in choice and changing how we work.

  • @AM-lz2jr

    Bro we don't care about disability. The stock is tanking at the end of the day, at the cost of shareholder value. SBC is literally shareholder dilution. The company isnt a charity. At the end of the day they have a duty to bring up the stock.

    • @GrapevineSoftware
      @GrapevineSoftware День назад

      People do care about disabilities, people care about women, people care about giving underrepresented people better options. Don’t inflate your own personal thoughts towards a generalized viewpoint.

  • @MereAYT
    @MereAYT 3 дня назад

    It forces people with complex health issues or caregiver responsibilities to quit disproportionately when companies take away flexibility in order to push attrition instead of doing proper layoffs. I think that the companies know that this is the case, but don't anticipate legal consequences.

    • @GrapevineSoftware
      @GrapevineSoftware День назад

      You are exactly right and what’s even more disappointing is that we see through this article we analyzed in the video - companies have disguised RTOs as layoffs knowing people like disabled individuals, women, and more are going to pull themselves out of the company opposed to the company doing layoffs. It’s an abdication of responsibilities from the leaders in the organization.

    In my blue collar career as a machinist I was layed off three times without any notice. Happens all the time. What is so special about tech workers?

    • @GrapevineSoftware
      @GrapevineSoftware 14 дней назад

      Before Grapevine, I worked in construction and as a Roofer in a factory as well as in the operating room as a janitor pretty much. It’s not only about tech workers here Philip. It’s about the disguised efforts of executives claiming they want people to come back to the office when in reality they are using “RTOs” as a mechanism for voluntary layoffs where employees quit and the companies gain the benefit of not having to give severances. Hope this answers your question.

      @vamseemk 14 дней назад

      Listen mate, we can argue all day, and I acknowledge that what you're saying is true. I noticed this trend right from the start of the pandemic. The majority of people working from home have been coasting. The problem is, when people respond to my statement online, they're either honest workers who get triggered by my comment, or they're the truly dishonest ones who are getting away with it and don't want their handouts to stop, causing a drop in productivity. Online outrage against remote work is not representative of overall sentiment. Work from home was supposed to be a temporary solution, not an entitlement. They just a small fraction of the workforce and have a lot of time to comment online because they can look at their phones and because they have the time to spend on the internet in their work from home jobs. I worked from home too, even before the pandemic, whenever it was necessary. The truth is, when it's done across the board, even good, productive workers can get ruined. And Americans, remember, all your people being really insistent on your work from home jobs. The more you insist, the more likely your job is going to be shipped off the country to India or Southeast Asia.

    I work fully remote for a startup. It’s the fastest growing company I’ve ever worked for. Do I work as hard? In a way, but also I was hired as an expert in my field, so I know the market and the subject matter at this company, I don’t have to go through the learning that happened over the last decade in an office. I’ve designed literally twice as many products in half the time, and I’m also providing services I never had the chance to in an office. I can’t see going back to an office..there’s literally no point. The only way they can get some people back to an office is if the economy tanks so bad and the jobs dry up. We are heading that direction..but if/when it rebounds, people will just bail and go remote again.

      Remote work, when motivated, you work more than in an office, commuting is wasting precious time unless you have a chauffeur.

    • @design2survive
      @design2survive 20 дней назад

      @@truehighs7845 That’s been my experience. I worked at a company that was middle manager heavy in 2020. They hated remote work. “Shoulder tap 5 min meetings all day”, that ended up wasting everyone’s time. No more brown nosing the executive team. We had one of the most successful two year runs in history. They rewarded everyone with donuts and made us come back to the office. I quit a month later, found a remote job, moved to a better state, and here we are.

    • @GrapevineSoftware
      @GrapevineSoftware 20 дней назад

      @design2survive exactly what we are talking about here! It’s not where but how we work that matters. Don’t get me wrong, some industries might require a meet up here and there but in most cases remote or flexible hybrid is doable. The benefits significantly outweigh the cons. We see this from companies like Atlassian, GitLab, and many more in addition to your example here. Thanks for sharing!

    • @GrapevineSoftware
      @GrapevineSoftware 20 дней назад

      We agree! Beyond commuting there are many benefits for disabled people, women, people of color, etc. Giving people choice is the win too. With that, just make sure you have the right policies, processes, tools, and people. Then you are good to go!

    • @GrapevineSoftware
      @GrapevineSoftware 20 дней назад

      It all comes down to the structure a company provides. Many companies calling workers back into the office don’t have the setup needed and they feel like they are losing control. However, with the right processes, tools, and policies - you can keep track of performance without needing control or micromanagement!

      We wouldn’t take it that far haha. However, we understand the sentiment. The choice is the important part. Extroverts feed off in person - give them the option. Introverts work better in their own space - give them the choice. Ambiverts bounce in between - give them a choice. Make sure you have the right foundation for how you work and you are set!

The Google Site concept is a way to better organize your materials and deliver a better experience to your employees. In most cases, companies do not have everything stored in a Shared Google Drive. As far as front end and back end, if you are referring to coding a different UI or functionality, I’m not sure 🤔. We are currently building our own software that will be a better version. Thank you so much for the feedback! There is a way you could offer this as a paid course by having the content gated from a simple Stripe form embedded on your website or landing page. When someone signs up and pays, on the confirmation page, you can have the link to the course there. The only issue would be you need to have the link open for “anyone with the link” meaning others could stumble upon it for free. It’s unlikely but it is a risk. Another option is to use Thinkific or Teachable. They both have free options and are targeted more towards what you are looking to do. Let me know if I can help in any way!

    Hi there. Thank you for this. I have a question. I'd like to use Google Sites for my organisation's website (NOT INTRANET). Moving away from other CMSes. However, how do I do this, safely. How do I publish to the world, and keep my drive safe?

    • @GrapevineSoftware
      @GrapevineSoftware Год назад

      Hi Anand, Google sites are technically made for outwardly facing content. It’s all based on the permissions. What I’d recommend is creating a specific folder in your Google Drive that will be outwardly facing material. Anything that goes on the website should be put in that folder. Make sure to set the permissions of the folder and each document to “anyone” can see this but make it “viewer” only. I’d also recommend within the folder for outwardly facing content, you have sub folders for specific things like “Marketing” “Google Forms” etc to stay organized. If you want to learn more, feel free to schedule a call with us and we can go into more detail. Hope this helps!

      Hi @REACHMedical it's a bit tough to explain in the comments but I have found a great video from TestMator that can significantly. Check out this video: ruclips.net/video/FTt31ROIGWU/видео.html and go to their website as suggested in their video. Steps: 1. Double click into the space you want to add the search bar 2. Click <> Embed 3. Go to TestMator's website, navigate to "Embed in Google Sites" and select "Search Bar" 4. Copy the code from TestMator's website 5. Pull up your Google Site (Published Version on another page 6. There should be a search bar in the top corner or somewhere on your site 7. Type in Test and go to URL and copy until 'query' 8. Go back to Embed and add the link where TestMator explains to in his video 9. Scroll towards the bottom of the code and find TestMator and change "Search..." to whatever you want to 10. Lastly, publish the site and test it to make sure you were successful I hope this helps!

    You shouldn't pause and do something and say you did it, might be best to include those instructions, good video one way or another.

    • @GrapevineSoftware

      Thank you for your feedback John. However, when we recording this video it was with an older computer. The reason we paused was so people didn’t have to sit their waiting for the page to update or load. This is an older video, but if my memory serves correctly, there weren’t any pauses that caused someone to miss anything important. Do you have a specific part of the video you wished you saw more of? Let us know and we can try to close that gap for you. Thank you!

    Can you google classroom to create company email for your employees

    • @GrapevineSoftware
      @GrapevineSoftware 2 года назад

      I'm not sure if I follow your question. If I read this correctly, you could create a distribution email for people within the classroom. However, I don't know about the company email being tied to Google Classroom. If you can go into more detail on your question, I'd be happy to respond better. Thank you!

    • @GrapevineSoftware
      @GrapevineSoftware 2 года назад

      @@lightoftheolive6800 I don't see a way to generate emails through Google Classroom. However, you can create emails for your students or teachers in Google Workspace "Admin Console," and depending on your subscription, you can create/add emails. Once you have these emails created, you can add them to your Google Classroom under the tab "People." You can also add emails that are outside the organization if you did not want to create emails and just use their personal ones. Hope this helps!

    ??? Intranets contain proprietary, internal only, information. You just showed us how to build a website that the public can get to correct? That is not an intranet. I watched the whole thing and didn't see any form of log-in protection. Did I miss something???

    • @GrapevineSoftware
      @GrapevineSoftware 2 года назад

      Hi Kerry, thank you for your comment and question. Yes, the part you are missing is that Google Sites can be internal or external. If you are building a website with Google Sites then the access does not require a login or for you to "request access" if you are outside of the organization. Similar to any website builder out there. It is open to the public. However, when building an intranet, like this video is, you are only giving access to your employees who can only access the site if they have an email with the domain you have for your company. For example, our email domain is XXXX@imeoconsulting.com and the only people who can access this site is internal employees. You can also place an approval process with your Google Sites admin to ensure no one is sharing sensitive information without it being approved first. If your question was, is there a SSO or two-authenticated process, that would be more on the end of how your Google Workspace is set up. Please let me know if this answers your questions. Thank you again!
