BS, I am from the North of England, Liverpool, I am telling you now hardly anyone was on 19k in 1986, the average wage then was £2.50 an hour! The mainly use London and calculate the average wage, I would say the average wage in 1986 in Liverpool my city was under 10k, as its predominantly a working class area or shops, factories etc, even working for the government ie office work for the tax etc, you was only on around £4 a hour, so do the maths ie £2.50 a hour or even £4 a hour, 40 hours a week is definitely not 19k a year. And showing the average price of houses ie £260k plus again is bs, I live in Aintree Liverpool, the average price for a 2/3 bedroom house is £130k to £180k, the average doesn't mean anything, it depends in what part of the country you live for example my house is worth around £170k , 2 bedrooms front and back garden, in a reasonable area, same house in London would be around 1 million plus! So it depends on what part of the country you live really.
