Welcome to my garden in Central Illinois, zone 6a! This video was primarily filmed for me to have to look back on in the winter time when I am desperately missing my garden. I spend all winter every winter watching other people's summer garden tours, but the garden I miss the most is mine. so I am throwing my own tour into the very flooded corner of RUclips that is the gardening and homesteadin...
i 😘you
I love YOU!
Your plants look healthy. We're in zone 6b. One of my worst garden yrs ever. 🌱
@imakatoh3593 Oh no I'm so sorry to hear that!! There's always next year! I have had my fair share of disappointments this year for sure.
@@oldruggedcrossfarm we used to live in 6a but we moved a little south 12 years ago. I've had good gardens here, it's been dry and hot
It is my first time on your channel and I have just subscribed. Big nice garden, the tomatoes are lovely. Thank you so much for sharing. Keep up the good work. All the best on this journey.🙏
@myhomeandgardenchanneldwel7777 Thank you so much! Glad to have you here! ☺️🩶
Courtney I can’t sleep please help me
I JUST SAW THIS I'M SORRY. Did you manage to fall asleep?
Your garden looks great! Aww the kittens <3 it looks like so much fun over there, I'm drowning in weeds right now, just need to keep up the motivation lol
Thank you so much!! Oh I am also drowning weeds over here after over 3 inches of rain and no free time!! Lol! Today is garden cleanup day for sure 🤣
I have a similar issue with brassicas (and similar climate zone, Eastern Europe, though never filmed it), at first they might grow big but then when the heat comes they get jaded by insects and just take up space. The trick is to plant seedlings earlier, but not worth it for me.
It is so hard to find the perfect time to plant here because we essentially skip spring every year. We seem to go straight from sub zero to sweltering heat in a matter of weeks. One of these days we will figure out the perfect formula!!
@@oldruggedcrossfarm Yeah, somewhat the same here, 1-1.5 months of Spring and then the heat, other areas/climates are far better suited to grow brassicas, so if you fail again - imho it's not your fault. If you have intense heat and enough space - I'd plant (more) watermelons, they love heat (and space) and they're so nice to eat in the Summer! One of the most prized veggies imho.
@georgecarlin2656 I am definitely going to get some more seeds in the ground. I have had luck with later crops of cucumbers and squash in the past. I *might* be able to get some more candy roasters and honeynut squash. Either way it's worth it to me to sacrifice the seeds to try!
Los cultivos tienen sistema de irrigación por goteo ??😊 suscribete al canal
I SO wish I had drip irrigation! I water by hand with a hose every day like a mad woman. 🤣
@@oldruggedcrossfarm I congratulate you, you give added value to your plants 😊 And your effort is seen in the results!!
@darionico Thank you so much! Honestly the best compliment I could get, that is so kind, thank you. 🩶
