The best performance of this piece on RUclips is Annie Zhou age 13, in my opinion. Annie gives emotion to this Liszt work as well as technical skill.

I'll be playing the flute part at the 2010 Composer's Conference at Wellesley College this July. This performance is as good as it gets. Well balanced, and the addition of the harpsichord and bass continuo gives the piece the depth it deserves. Each movement is a beautiful thing to listen to, and not all that difficult to play. The most important aspect is to really sing the lines, really sing, and the oboe and flute are well-matched in strength and clarity. Brava, brava!

Impressive interpretation, but when you play what is essentially an etude, you do *not* miss notes.

I'm still trying to find the perfect rendition, in the perfect acoustic. This one is not bad at all. At all... But the acoustics fuck'em up.... :(
