Another bikepacker said that you have to hike a bike for a hundred miles on the CO trail. Do you think that's accurate? Is 20% of the trail hike a bike?
There is certainly a fair amount of hike a bike , 20% sounds like maybe a bit much , perhaps closer to 10%, and mostly climbs since the descents are rideable. If you travel light, and run a small chain ring 30 or less you may be able to clear more than we were able to. Overall a great experience, and highly recommended if you have the time to complete the trail
@@colpolka that's about what my estimate was. I have done the whole trail, but I've done some sections. Thanks!
Superb, thanks for sharing
Nice job guys…stunning vid
Epic ride guys! Great filming and fotografy, cheers!
Brings back memories - so good
Great video!! I've been working on my MTB skills and buying packing stuff and planning next summer to not do the whole trail at once but to start doing some overnighters to work on my bikepacking skills and to do a lot of out and back trips then someday when I can get a few weeks off from work or retire whichever comes first to do the whole trail. Great video quality! and love the drone footage!! It's a great way to see Colorado!! The Colorado which not everybody sees.
Beautiful
Wonderful edit. Great adventure. Especially liked the pictures at the end.
Fantastic video, guys! I will ride the CT soon and this video is great inspiration.
Thank you for sharing. I’ll be heading out this summer solo to tackle it, can’t waaaaait!
💪
If you have any questions about the CT, just let me know. Happy to share some of the pearls/pitfalls learned along the way
Great achievement and amazing video. Congratulations to you both. Thanks for sharing it.
Amazing video, greetings from Norway.
Norway! Hoping to explore that beauty of a country some day. Thanks for kind words, cheers!
Cool!! 🤘🏼
Lame ass music
Nicely done!!!
Playing electronica music which is the opposite of what this video promotes. Yo yo yo. Blehhh
Just WOW! Tough ride. Great video. Thank you!
Beautiful country & i love. Greetings from Timor Island-Indonesia 😇
👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾
Sorry if I missed it, but any chance of a full gear list video? Love the fact that you guys did this on mountain bikes...
Hi Rusty! That’s a good idea and I really wish I had done this before taking my bike down! I’ll plan on maybe putting a gear video together in the future to help out prospective bikepackers , as I certainly have some opinions on what worked and what didn’t. In the meantime if you have any gear questions feel free to message me . Cheers!
You would be severely under-biked if you tried this trail with a gravel bike (not that it couldn't be done, but it would be infinitely harder). Full-suspension mtb or hardtail mtb with front suspension is the way to go.
Excellent video. This is on my list to do.
Love your vlogs denver

Great video! Love the see our Top Cap Cage Mount and cages. Looks like a great trip, thanks for sharing!
great video for sure, but what ahbout the horrible annoying music, nah noise,,, that really sounded good to somebody
Proper cages gentlemen!
Great music.
Wow..great video amazing views..👍🏻
Great video! Brought me back. I did it in 14 days early July this year. Can’t wait to go back and do it again! So challenging and so rewarding
how did you choose a section? Have 7 days and hoping to plan a fun segment in the spring.
Hi John, we chose to ride all the segments , with exception of the few segments where bikes are prohibited. With only 7 days would be difficult to ride it all unless you are really determined and don’t mind riding at night. If you have only limited time, I’d recommend maybe riding half of it, and then you could complete the other half another time. If you are just out to ride some fun segments with limited camping then I’d recommend Silverton to Durango, very rideable and spectacular scenery. Other notable fun and scenic segments are Kenosha pass, Georgia pass, searle-Kokomo pass and monarch
Nice just finished in 11 days
Great video guys! You deserve many more subscribers. Would like to try the Colorado Trail sometime but have back issues, so need to be careful unfortunately. Hopefully you will do more videos 👍. Thanks for taking me with you on your journey. Looks like a great time.
great vid but either turn the tunes off or down to almost silent. No need for Tunes. Entertainment is the trip.
I loved the music and it's not my typical genre, just for a counter opinion...
The music killed me but great job on the CTR guys
Go to my channel no music. Just finished in 11 days solo and it changed my life
Nice tune,excellent snow,the best resort,great skiing,good video.tnxs
Poetic
Awesome Rob! Wish we could have flown together when I was up. I got one good day with majestic in between weather events. Looking forward to next year!
Thats not alta!!!
Sorry to spoil your conspiracy theory, but yes, that video is in fact filmed at Alta.
colpolka no i live in alta
That’s wildcat though? Right?
nice edit! hope to se you back one day..
So much open space...nice drone footage.
Im heading there in a month. Going to do the Raven AM trip. What tires did you end up running?
it was awesome. I'm not sure how you put a price tag on it. It was a once in a lifetime kind of thing. I road and saw things i will likely never see again.
fuck the east coast...
Seamus Breslin Michigan is horrible
everywhere but the rockies...and canada
Vermont has some amazing terrain, in fact Stowe and Killington Vermont both have much more vertical than alta.
Arin Gokdemir Vertical in my opinion vertical doesn't matter a whole bunch unless it's a decent amount. I mean in my opinion Utah snow is just legendary and just nothing can beat it. I skied Snowshoe and while it was very nice it was kind of icy and just compared to Utah skiing down those slopes, I just like Utah more. Plus, right next door at Snowbird you have 3200ft of vertical.
I guess the east coast has just gotten unlucky
Could you hire bikes from the company that took you
we do have 2017 scott geneus 27.5 in all sizes.
Beautiful video! I'm going there next summer. Question - I have to choose which of my two bikes to bring: full suspension 26er or hardtail 29er. Based on typical Iceland single track, which would be best?
Thanks. I would go with full suspension. Didn't see any hardtails while I was out there. The terrain is pretty variable, but in general more on the rocky side and I think well suited for FS riding. Most of the guys out there are riding a style that is closer to enduro than just XC. It's an amazing place, have fun!
full sus all the way if you are going for the highland trails not a question!
Nice!
Great video! I was also there last year, great race! Are you racing it again this year?
