We hit the lower Platte on Sunday around 10:30 a.m.. Upper Platte is pretty fast and some of the corners can be tricky. Very different from the lower section and WAY fewer people by far. We put in right at US 31 and took out on Main St in Honor near the poat office. My favorite up there is the Crystal River near Glen Arbor. You can see (many)videos of the Crystal and also the Betsie that I've posted as well. Happy Yakkin'!

Was there this Sept early. Only a few hundred at Weir. Water to warm this year they say.

atlantic salmon this is a harvesting weir on the lower Platte. They control the flow of the fish for harvest and counting but do allow the fish to continue for natural reproduction.

Local vacation home residents don't want all those dead fish on there beaches. Now they harvest eggs for hatchery up stream. Only allow 20K fish up to spawn. Keeping the millionaires happy.

Alex JONES no we didn't. This was July around the 4th so a little early for Salmon or Summer Steelhead (Skamania)

Raptorme Thanks...you can see views from the bow and underwater on my channel as well. They made the water "boil" with turbulence and smack into the cam repeatedly due to how thick they're stacked in there.

Should probably be leaving the fish alone. Injuring themselves running into each other to avoid the kayak

Fish Fray I took off from the Weir (which is actually state land) with the blessing of the operator. But I have flown the Platte Bay from Peterson Beach. I appreciate the heads up though and have seen on RUclips where the Park service went to someone's home and ticketed them based on video.

Why is it illegal
