I like the fact that it is europe for once but i agree they should just do these things world wide. and making the oppertunity for every country. I live in the netherlands and this in not a promo in our country. no challenge here and no disney exclusives like spiehl or disney store stuff 😢

I have a few thoughts on this: 1) I feel like this was done strategically to get more players in regions where lorcana maybe hasn't seen the growth they were hoping for 2) I can't wait for US promos if they do plan on going regionally (Toy Story???) 3) I also agree that going global would be much better overall, but if there will he regional promos, it will also make them more exclusive and better long term holds for collectors as they are not as easy to get access to

There will be a lot of these everywhere, as Moana 2 is a huge movie with lots of locations. Don't FOMO in. Imagine working at ODEON as a teen, and you just grab a stack of these. 20 dollars USD at most IMO.

Huge missed opportunity for sure. I'm surprised Disney itself didn't push RB more for this worldwide, considering the box office potential. Hope they learn from this mistake.

Really unimpressed with regional promos. There’s no reason they need to region lock these at all. All it does it enrich scalpers. Release the promo globally.

do you have any tips on selling individual boxes to limit swapping contents and refund scams? as the boxes didn't have any plastic wrap I recon it can be subject to those kinds of factors when liquidating.

You’re back! I was beginning to think the cardboard kingdom had fallen! Personally had a big collection milestone yesterday. Elsa enchanted is now mine. Got an LP copy for a great deal at an LGS. Thrilled with it.

What would you say is the next best set after The First Chapter that you assume will go up a lot?

At the end of the day.. it’s the hobby I didn’t know I needed! Disney Lorcana > Pokémon! Don’t be agnostic! Dont FOMO in! Collect what you like! I’m in so deep. it’s still a Buyers market right now. We’re about one year in, and people don’t see 5 years down the line how good Chapter 1 is. With that being said.. one of the best parts about Lorcana is making new friends in the community playing at LGSs, deck crafting and collecting your favorite cards. Lorcana has a great future ahead, Azurite Sea looks like it’ll be good, and I like how with each new set it integrates older set cards. They definitely plan several sets ahead to see how cards will interact with each other. Some cards that are out of meta relevance will come back into the meta, and we can see that the enchanteds that have high playability drive the value in the market. Majority of folks don’t put a $150+ enchanted card in their deck but some do. The actual game mechanics is what makes the game really fun. The artist do a phenomenal job and the game pulls from the best of Magic, Yugioh, Hearthstone etc. If it didn’t have the IP it wouldn’t be nearly as successful. for us adults that grew up with old school Disney, it really hits the nostalgia. At the end of the day it’s less about the value & potential money investments and more about the love of the hobby, enjoying it with friends & family. With that being said, it seems like they’re doing a great job hosting these big tournaments around the world, making it in Japanese, and keeping their eyes on future sets. every saturday I’ve been attending LGS set championships and it’s very competitive yet fun to meet new people. Our LGSs here host specific days out of the week where we get to practice and hangout. Perhaps their biggest win is getting Pixar into the mix 2026. That’s huge. people 5-10 years from now will look back and say, dang look how cheap these enchanteds were back in 2024. People will always be wanting to rip and pull the chasers. And supply will dry up like you predicted. Some enchanted cards only have like 20 listings on tcgplayer.. sure it’s not as popular as pokémon.. but more and more folks are just getting into it. i put some money on lorcana for fun to see if they sell on tcgplayer. its bin a ghost town not a single sale im thinking there's no utility only the big hits will sell mids and low level stuff seems to be junk ill probably try a few more before i stop buying

Congrats, I def wouldn’t mind a base set 2, it’s hard playing competitively while just getting into things. Cards in the Meta are pricey.

Just remember that we are about to enter the winter with no dlcs and no set champs. Prices will be coming down on singles, except for maybe prize cards that are over. And stopnsaying there will not be a reprint. There definitely will be reprints based on all the conversations Michelle has had on the Discord. Ravensburger will make sure that new players can afford 1st chapter staples for DLCs next year.

I just got smoked at my lgs. They all drop hundreds of dollars into a single deck. That’s just not in my budget. But I’ll keep trying to get creative. I’m working on an Agro Dalmatian deck and it’s actually getting pretty good. I just added Perdita, I’d like to get three more of her.

Are you able to share where you’re getting expected value numbers for the sets?

its my first tcg but i been trading markets for a while. I try to buy cheap foils when they around 5-10 cent. bought a load at start of FC and im up more than 5x. Cheap carda have more upside as its easy for them to double or triple in price

Patience is the number 1 attribute of any successful collector. Sometimes it takes some mistakes, call it an entry fee, before you learn it.

Do not, I repeat DO NOT, buy a single blister pack from Barnes and Noble. Or a trove. Seriously… every single other option is better

I bought my first second and third chapter cases 6-9 months ago and I’m holding these for a minimum of 5 years, some I will probably keep for more than a decade. I truly believe In tcgs and when one is in a bull market they typically all follow!

Hey Mike, What should be done is release something called “chapters 2, 3 and so on”. Following exactly the same successful model as of the MTG core sets, done exclusively with reprinted cards from all editions. Each new “chapter” would provide players access to staples relevant in the meta game as well new art cards to collectors alike. There is no need to reprint the first chapter at all and flood the market. The market will be flooded with Japanese and Chinese cards very soon, players will have access to more than enough cards. Here in Europe there is like over 1000 booster boxen of ROTF avaliable starting at less then 100$ same for the cases, there is like over 100 avaliable starting from less then 400$ a case... hook me up so I can sell them in the USA for a nice profit :)

If they do reprints I do hope they have different art or something to show that their not original cards. Like mtg does or some pokemon cards (less sure of those though since I dont play it) etc.

For competitive play what you should do is print cards with similar abilities and leave the old ones to gather value for the collectors
