I remember when the "What the fuck is that?" video made its rounds on Twitter and Jay got a lot of hate for that. I didn't watch the whole video at first, so I thought Jay was the one raising up his legs and loads of people called him disrespectful. I had mixed feelings. On one hand a part of me was thinking "I understand why some see this as disrespectful, like you just don't do that to someone you're not really close with." On the other hand, a part of me was thinking "I think he's just joking around. The other guys were laughing too. I think people are just blowing this out of proportion." But when I finally watch the video and learned he simply just said "What the fuck is that?" I was a bit surprised and a bit mad and I was thinking to myself "I get that some people don't like it when others curse, but holy shit, people are taking this way too far. He doesn't look like he's being disrespectful, though. The guys look like they don't even have an issue with it, because it's a joke, and if Jay cussed in a different language, people would've laughed their ass off instead of sending unnecessary hate." The double standards of English speaking idols.
