No Expectations (Rolling Stones cover)
Charlie Bedford dropped by with his $100 baritone ukelele - so we had to record a song with it! We spent a couple of hours from rehearsal through mixing, used two SM57 mics on everything, bar the vocals, for which we used an OPR U47 FET. Performed, recorded, mixed and mastered at my place: Guffland Studios. The drone footage is of the fire tower on Mt Tarrengower in Maldon, Victoria.

An original instrumental tune, inspired by the guitar riff that had a latin vibe, ended up taking me to a 1970s Italian Western-type thing. It was played on a borrowed late-70s Telecaster with a humbucker pickup - noice! The disco-esque beat gave me the rest of the title. Hi @djakosh! I haven't used the Arturia - but the M32 works great for me. Compact size, solid feeling keyboard that integrates well with my DAW, etc.

It's a little north of Melbourne in Australia. It was part of a branch line that was closed in the 1950s when the bridge needed updates that couldn't be justified. Still standing seventy years later - though a couple of good floods look to be all that is required now. Glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
