    I just got into spinning yarn and this was so helpful to see what to look for in a spindle! I've just been using a DIY, CD-on-a-stick situation haha 😂

      That sounds like a cool spindle, I have seen some on the internet, I could only imagine how they spin with all the colors of the rainbow 🌈 happy spinning

    11:55 that would be really cute if you single crochet around the neck and front and do little loops-buttonholes and put a bunch of tiny green-pearly buttons 😙👌(it already looks cute, just a suggestion) 💗💗💗 with love from Greece 💞

    I feel you. When I start learning how to crochet, I did some stuff just because the process of making it seem interesting, I ended up never using them and had to unravel a lot of stuff.🤦‍♀ When I got to knit, I started to think more about if it would fit my style and the weather where I live. PS: I feel like it is common that the girls who like to knit, sew (or similar handcraft/diy work) have green as a favorite or one of our favorite colors. I love that.

    Unraveling projects is so much fun for me too, and I also like the challenge to unravel store-bought sweaters that no longer fit me and then I wash the yarn and knit or crochet with it, most recently I crocheted a Chevron blanket of 2 kg with mostly reclaimed yarns

      I usually knit for a very long time, using continental knitting and usually fingering weight patterns, I only really get sore if I'm knitting worsted+ projects, and need to stretch lots. I think because the project weight gets too heavy (?)

    What a lovely chatty double drive wheel, it could have great conversations with mine. I found when I made the cycling sweater that sport weight was in the end too thick to make it fit me; and I had to go for laceweight in the end (18 WPI instead of the recommended 12). Of course this was only evident after I finished the entire sweater...

      This is what I am thinking too sport weight sounds too thick to work, I think the weight of yarn that I have is perfect to make the cycling sweater ✨ thank you for the tip; I think so too two spinning wheels would have a wonderful conversation with your one 😊 thanks for tuning in Mijn, I am a big fan of you and your videos. You got very pretty colours 🤍🤎💙 I ordered a few of that 100% bamboo too yesterday in tan, creamy beige colours and blues... bamboo is supposed to be very soft normally, so I am hoping that it will soften up after washing as well the garments. Did you work with it and tried washing after did it soften up? 😊 I also got their Venera yarns to try out :)

    • @elziboba
      @elziboba 7 месяцев назад

      Hello, thank you I know the colors are so pretty. I haven’t done anything with them yet, but I’m planning to switch to crocheting with bamboo in spring/summer time as now I am more focused on knitting with wool. Not a fan of knitting with wool in summer so bamboo will be perfect candidate for my projects. I think so too that maybe the dyes that were used are making bamboo not soft, as I have couple of other bamboo yarn and it’s very soft✨ I am so happy you got yourself from the same yarns they are so pretty 🤩 and I think after washing should soften a lot more ❤️ I haven’t had the chance to check their Venera yarns but tell me if they are nice when you have tried them out, what fiber content are they?

I will be interested to see how the Olive Oyl Jumper turns out, that is such an unusual sleeve design. A lot of the people I watch use mostly neutrals - bluey grey and brown - it is a nice change to see someone using colour. The baby set is very nice and I do like the addition of the embroidery. I have been knitting 60 years, and I think you are doing very well.

    Nice first podcast; your baby set is so cute. I guess the good thing about knitting for babies is you can complete it very quickly. I have heard that to make frogging mohair easier, pop in the freezer for about 30 minutes. This helps reduce the stickiness which I also think will minimize the fluff. Good to see the pandemic mask is useful in other ways. By the way, I think Olive Oyl was in reference to the character from Popeye, the cartoon.😉
