THATPAIN is an up and coming South Asian - Canadian Artist. Originally from Lahore in Pakistan, they would relocate to Alexandra Park (Vanauley Walk) in the downtown Toronto core.

Coming to Canada at the age of 5, the rapper did not know English and would have to attend ESL classes. He was one of the few South Asians who lived in Alexandra Park thus he had to always prove himself due to racism being prevalent at the time. Growing up in Alexandra Park, he witnessed a lot of adversity such as gun violence, drug overdoses, racial profiling, and teenage birth.

THATPAIN is inspired by a wide-range of music from French Montana, Meek Mill, Drake, Kanye West and Speakerknockerz to Lil Durk, M Honcho, Lil Baby, and NoCap. He also pulls inspiration from Punjabi and Bollywood music, listening to artists such as Imran Khan, Sidhu Moosewala, and Jazzy B which helped him work on melodies and mixing English, Punjabi and Urdu words together.
