Dear Truth: Interview With the Artists - Part 1
Jens S. Jensen (May 25, 1946 - July 1, 2015) was a Swedish photographer that documented the everyday life and people in Hammarkullen during 40 years. To do that, Jens moved to and lived in Hammarkullen for long periods of time. The Hasselblad Foundation published this RUclips-video on March 20 in 2015, just some month before his death. A “must be seen”, 10 minutes long interview. One of Jens' photos, Boy on the Wall, Hammarkullen, Gothenburg, 1973 was exhibited at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York City, in 2012. That photo was meeting the visitors to MoMA as they entered the exhibition Century of the Child: Growing by Design, 1900-2000. I myself met Jens in person at the University of Gothenburg in the fall of 1981. I was writing an essay on manual labor and Jens stood for visualizing the blue-collar workers and their work at Volvo Torslanda by his photos. I remember Jens as a very warm, generous, sympathic and nice human being. [ www.diaforum.se/hammarkullen/#jens ]
Impressive attention behind the lenses
Deeply, deeply pleased for you Ingrid! I hope I get an invite to the party in Gothenburg. Only a few hours away from where I live in Sweden!
🎉🎉
striking that a phone call seems unreal .. until the email arrives. awards are at first doubted congrats 🎉
Black female won because she's a black female, not because she's better or more original than the rest. When will handing out the trophies to people because of their race, sex, and sexual orientation stop? Because, you know, these trophies don't mean anything anymore.
Exactly my thoughts too
Thanks so much for this. He is an amazing person.
vackert
One of the Most intriguing photographers and humans I’ve come by.
Why don't you show us at the end of this interview some photos from her ?
Does anyone know the title of the book he's flicking through at the beginning of the video?
I would go to the bookstore (what's that?) frequently to look through this book back when I was a punk rocker. It was too difficult to steal back then, so maybe now I can find a copy to buy. Or to steal.
最後に言っている「写真を出して人が見た瞬間からその写真は人の見方によって変化していく」といえ言葉はまさに表現者ならば念頭においておくべき概念であり悟りだと思います。 森山大道さんブラボー。最高です。
how can one watch the film: The Ballad of Sexual Dependency? I have searched and found no streaming access. I also looked for it at my local library to no avail. thanks
The Ballad of Sexual Dependency is a slide show exhibition and an artist's book. The new documentary All the Beauty and the Bloodshed is now in cinemas.
Congratulations Dayanita mam for winning Hasselblad's prestigious award of $200,000 prize 🎉💐🤩
what beautiful words

Selamat pagi..
Selamat siang pak daido moriyama, karakter atau sifat saya pemalu
Selamat pagi, apakah bisa ekpresi diperlihatkan dengan sengaja jika pemikiran saya sebelum berekpresi adalah merasa terlebih dahulu
Great opportunity to hear some wisdom from one of the masters of photography. I wish he come visit South America one day.
He is not an idol. Just buy a book of him and learn
Because of Moriyama and photographers like him I've created my own photobooks, for myself and others. Such a incredible influence, far beyond any so-called "influencer" on social media today.
I want to thank the Hasselblad Foundation and kindly ask if you could add English subtitles to the video? I would highly appreciate to understand the speakers. Thanks in advance!
Well said, "Africa did not exist" with over 54 countries in it. It is time for all that to change for the better.
Daido Moriyama has forever freed photographers from the “slavery” of equipment and the utopia of the perfect shot, in technical terms. I would never have taken up photography, if it was not his mantra “walk, get inspired, shoot”, that clicked in me to grab a cheap, point-and-shoot camera and go out.
Great 🎉 inspirational work 🙏
Inspiring💯💙
So glad to hear the jubilant message.Congratulations on your excellent work and achievement which has been rightfully blessed and well deserved. Our best wishes and prayers are for you as always.Continue to be a blessing to others 👍
What an articulate person, amazing
Fantastic!
Congratulations!
Avery good artist👏
Congratulations 🙌
Brother, good luck with your channel video
You take a photograph which you really like. You show your photo to ten other people, and they don't like it - for, perhaps, ten different reasons. Must you then decide that your favorite photo is no good? Mr. Moriyama doesn't discuss what makes a photograph "good."
Interesting insight into his approach. Sadly, the questions flashed up and then disappeared so fast I didn't have time to read them.
My Spiritual Teacher.
spiritual ? interesting, but how do you understand word "spiritual" ? his photos are good, from a certain point of view, but the core of his photography is darkness, is this what you call spiritual ?
@@maxvortex3494 its how he views the world
Boycott Munoz
amazing.
amazing!
Happy to hear that you liked it!
ein guter Mann und ein guter Fotograf.
I don't remember where I was when I first saw some of the images from TBOSD in 1992 but I can still recall the feeling, the epiphanetic moment when I realized how intimate images could be about... well, intimacy. Nan, how cool to see you are up to lots of no-good-ness. Keep it going!
so good thanks for this
He’s such a master of his craft, it’s hard to put my admiration for him in words.

well i never heard about this prize but i wish get to know more and this video reminds me concepts are told by Joan Fontcuberta about fotography reality then all this seems like another man has alredy said. what I mean it´s filosophal thinkings like Descartes and Kant.
Completely agree with his assesment of Moriyama. A great vindication for the history of photography.
He really inspired me to shoot more freely and in a more expressive style rather than adhere to rigid sets of rules, after all Daido does what he wants! I love that.
Is this the shortest video on Yotube?
