An update to my first morning routine video from a couple months ago, which was shot while still a corporate employee and before I committed to learning more about shooting and editing video. This was my first attempt at shooting in log and color grading. Nothing groundbreaking here but a necessary step for me to take in my development.
I resonate so much with the feelings of guilt & shame you share in this video. In high school, I wanted to be an author, a fantasy writer. I would write everyday, and felt so passionate and confident in myself. Then college & post-college work years happened (too much work grind, too little life enjoyment) and those skills I had developed atrophied. I find myself at a point in my life now where I've made a major move and I'm not working -- the perfect opportunity to jump back in, right? I thought so, but... I battle everyday to overcome perfectionism, to not compare my skills to what they used to be and to what I want them to be, and to simply just write. All to say -- thank you for sharing your journey with your craft. Your videos have a rawness and realness that make folks feel seen.
