My name is Jack. Welcome to my channel. I make videos mostly about trains and sometimes other random stuff! Here, you’ll mostly find NJT, Amtrak, CSX, Norfolk Southern, and sometimes other trains like the MBTA, Metro North or the Subway whenever I visit those areas.
A Nice Day at Union, NJ 10/4/24
Last Friday, I decided to head over to Union to see the action. I stayed for about 8 and 1/2 hours and got quite a bit of action. 24X had an SD70ICC that was cool to see and it was my first time ever seeing one! I also saw an X410 that was cool to see as well. Anyway, this was a nice railfanning day!

On Thursday, I took the train from Hackettstown to Summit to go home for the weekend. Since I was already there, I decided to watch a few trains. These are the trains I saw in Hackettstown this week. There was some good stuff last week as I saw GP40s and PL42ACs last week and I surprisingly didn’t see any ALPs. On Sunday, my mom and I decided to go to the Historical Railroad Society Museum in Boonton for the event they were having. On Saturday, I decided to head over to Clark for a bit to see if anything would come. I only stayed for like an hour as it was raining. l got to see three trains. What voltage is in that overhead, seems bonkers that one pantograph can power such a big train ... ?
It’s overhead wires. This line is both diesel and electric. The wires are what give the locomotive power which powers the train set
25kV, 60Hz is the voltage

What’s the spot at Newport exactly?
It’s at Oliver Township Park in Newport. And it’s at Milepost 131 on the Pittsburgh Line just north of Duncannon.
CSX are rerouting? NS Bayview to CSX Bayview to join the Philly Sub at that point. If i go to Wyomissing, I need to figure out which csx trains might be coming?
Yup! I heard about this too. I’m planning to go to the Harrisburg line next year when they start to reroute the CSX trains.

Thanks! No it isn’t. The NS oil trains normally always take the Port Reading Secondary.

Looks like the NS morale is much higher than CSX…the crews seem much more railfan friendly at least

Guessing the train after the third got cancelled. That would be the only reason it would make all local stops if the train ahead wasn’t cancelled.
I don’t think it was cancelled. The third one was 5737 that just came late. The one after was 5439 which I didn’t stay for.
