Hey all! This is a channel where I post video game-related content, mainly videos centred around the Elder Scrolls series for now. I'm rather new to this whole thing, so I'd love some feedback about my content and what the future of this channel should hold!
[OLD] Modding Oblivion THE EASY WAY - Part 2 | Remastering Oblivion
Welcome back, one and all, to Modding Oblivion the Easy Way, Part 2, where I’m going to help you vastly improve the graphics of this wonderful game to make it look like it could’ve been released today. If you haven’t yet watched Part 1, I would highly recommend doing so before proceeding, as I will not be going back over anything from the first video.

[OLD] Modding Oblivion THE EASY WAY - Part 1 | The Basics
Просмотров 249 тыс.4 года назад
So, you want to mod Oblivion? Maybe you’ve dabbled into modding here and there, but you just can’t seem to get the hang of it, or maybe it’s your first time playing and you’re put off by the outdated graphics. Well, no matter the case, this guide will teach you not only how to install basically any mod made for this game, but I’ll also be showing you how to visually overhaul Oblivion to make it...
This is still the best video for reference. I always come looking for this video if I have any problems. Thanks for making this easy
Everything went smoothly, until OCO broke the game. Gotta reinstall it now 😓 love you Bethesda games…
Even though there is a newer method I always come back to this one as it's tried and true and simple for anyone to follow, eternally grateful for you keeping these videos up for future gamers to enjoy
Amazing work! when Part 3?
my man sound like an elf from tamriel breaking 4th wall to help us experience his world
Still, this is the best instruction video out there even in 2024 together with part 2. Few things are different as I used MO2 but it worked all well at the end. Appart from realistic leveling that one i had to install with OMOD. Thank you
Hello! I'm kind of new to modding, and I just have a quick question. I have modded other games like Skyrim and Fallout 4 with Vortex, but I know that modding Morrowind and Oblivion can be a bit more complicated. My goal for each game is to retain the vanilla graphics and mechanics, but I just want to make sure that any bugs in the games are squished. So here's my question (for Oblivion in particular): Are the only mods that I really need to download for Oblivion the unofficial patch and the OBSE? And if so, should I install them manually, or with Wrye Bash? It's difficult to find any information on these things that isn't more than 3 or 4 years old. Any help is much appreciated!
you just ruined it after i install all it didn't work anymore fuck u
bro u tweakin, this is my 3rd attempt to download it all, spent whole day and game has better graphics than modern games. U should be more patient or get more computer related knowledge. Dont be ashamed of YOUR failure.
@@SKRT_QiQ all i got is a god damn blue screen even if i uninstall the mod 😑😑
@@Hiruroku1 blue screen? Maybe thats just problem with our computer?
No hesi might require latest version of windows libraries, direct x etc.
@@SKRT_QiQ you mean like windows 11? bruhh
I'm having an issue where Realistic Leveling, installed through Wrye Bash, doesn't have an .ini file. I have no idea where this .ini is supposed to go, nor were it even is. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Never mind, I fixed it by installing it through OBMM as an OMOD instead
I JUST WANT FUCKING CONTROLLER SUPPORT BUT NORTHERNUI BREAKS EVERY TIME
the leveling mods conflict with Darnified UI? The leveling ones and qarls texture pack just will not install in mo2.
you didn't even show how to install OCO when i put it into wrye bash it's not an archive
Wrye Bash could not find a game to manage. didnt work with gog version only works on real game
I'm having the worst time trying to get Blockhead and the character model overhaul to work. "INSTALL BLOCKHEAD" is on NPCs faces and I can't figure out where I went wrong when installing it
please do more
Excellent video. Helped me get my start to modding as I've had trouble modding oblivion in the past
Hi there I have an issue with installing mod manager. Tried installing to my game location but keeps saying it must be installed to my installation directory.
Dude thank you soo much for these 2 videos, the only actual videos on youtube explaining everything about modding step by step everything works perfectly, hope you make a part 3 video soon you are the Goat Man :)
For those who are having trouble installing Combat Stance Reanimation. Go to Wyre Bash, and under the Installers tab, click where Combat Stance Reanimation is, to the right you'll see a little section that says "Sub-Packages" check those two boxes that are in there, then right click on Combat Stance Reanimation and install it once those two boxes are clicked, I ran BOSS afterwards too just in case that was an issue, but I ran the game afterwards and it worked on my end. Kinda wish he explained it though, otherwise everything else was golden. Again, Hopefully it helped. And too whoever is having trouble with Realistic Leveling, just install it through Oblivion Mod Manager, there is a download for Realistic Leveling that actually has one download exclusively for OMM.
Well this was a huge waste of my time... Might just be me but your explanation was extremely lackluster on how to install mods after installing Wrye Bash. Your example on the first mod you installed to Wrye Bash doesn't apply to the leveling mod - there are a few folders and files, tried copying all of them like you did before and that didn't work... Tried using the Readme for the mod, which also happened to be poorly worded and unclear... I would really appreciate any help, I have been trying to install a leveling mod for a few hours now.
Leveling Mod worked when I used Oblivion Mod Manager. I wish it was a little more clearer but there is an OMM version you can grab of that mod that will work.
@@AnythingisBetterThanStarfield thank you but I don't know what OMM is... I'm sorry but I have no experience in this
yep the leveling mods and qarls texture pack just will not install
Thank you
if anyone has their game crashing after installing the unofficial patches, delete BOSS and use LOOT instead.
also, if someone has a problem with the settings of the game not saving, it might be because of the windows ransomware protection. check its history and enable everything Oblivion could use (wrye, loot, bose, the game itself, etc.)
Did nexusmods die?
Nope. Vortex is dead, don't use that mess of an application.
The Wizard101 music in the background at the beginning really caught me of guard but in a good way
The old graphics look fine from a 17 year old's pov. The weird purple shaders you applied to it look horrible lmao.
Most npc don't have dialogues anymore, why?
The link in the description for the QTP3 UOP32 PATCH goes to Unofficial Oblivion Patches!
I've just been using MO2. Is there any reason I should be using WryeBash instead?
no
I got an error running mod manager. Something along the lines of it needing to be installed in the base directory, and the oblivion_default.ini. Anyways, don't delete that. I restored it and the error went away.
do you need more than one drive to not install in program 86
My Game crashes instant in the Start Up pleas Help
Thanks again for the 2nd part. Absolutely amazing work. I did not pmlz rediscover Oblivion again but with all the mods it feels like a whole new game.
Thanks a lot, I found it extremely helpful and so perfect I found your videos right now, redisvoering Oblivion after more than 15 years. YOu are amazing.
OH FUCK YEAH YOU HAD ME IN THE FIRST MINUTE WITH THAT WIZARD 101 TUNE FUCK YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
This has been the most helpful and useful tutorial on youtube. Thanks
MY MAN this helped a ton. Thank you so much!
Broo you know how to fix this, i have some npc whit no voices
@@joacogodoyydo you have the character overhaul mod
waste of time
nice video, but now I can't open the game ...
Bro you know how to fix this? i have some npc whit no voices
Thanks for this great video. Makes me want to play Oblivion again. Just one question. The unofficial patched need the official patch apparently (or so says Nexus when downloading the UOP). I don't hear you mentioning that. Any reason why?
Can't I just use MO2?
Yes forget WyreBash, it's boomer tech
Have you ever had BOSS come up and then instantly shut down? I also tried reinstalling BOSS directly into Wrye bash's root and it still does the same thing. It pops up the "Updating the latest masterlist" for literally like one second and shuts off.
I followed every step to a T twice now bc I think I fucked up somehow the first time so I uninstalled everything and tried again, I have a GOG version of the game, my in game screen is very blurry but my menu screens, the map and everything look great I know this is very old but can someone guide me lol I feel like this has been such a waste of so many hours

does this guide still work in 2023?
has anyone had an issue with realistic leveling the ini file says i need to do something in OBMM
cant find the eyelash mod havent loaded game yet but i hope theres no bug lol
Right click the INSTALLERS tab in Wrye Bash and click on 'enable' or nothing will happen. Phew..........
The leveling system is not garbage, it's just too complicated to be fun...😋
I can't seem to get realistic leveling to work, something to do with an "ini" file I believe. Any suggestions, anyone?
Dw, I fixed the problem with downloading this mod with MO2. I'll copy and post the guide from the Nexus user "GregR" here: I got the same error with MO2. The RealisticLevel.ini file is place in the correct spot, but the default file does not have values set in 3 spots. You need to edit the file to set values there. On the right of MO2, click on the Data tab and find RealisticLeveling.ini. Right click-> Open to open it in Notepad. Then find the following 3 lines at different spots in the file: set aaRealisticLeveling.mode to <mode>; default = 3 set aaRealisticLeveling.levelMax to <levelMax>; default = 65 setGS iTrainingSkills <iTrainingSkills>; default = 5 Replace the < > part on each of those lines with a value. Use the default if you like or set it to whatever you want. I.e.: set aaRealisticLeveling.mode to 3; default = 3 set aaRealisticLeveling.levelMax to 65; default = 65 setGS iTrainingSkills 5; default = 5 Save the file, and it should work now.
@@calcifiedinnerbaldur didn't work. For me its conflicting with the UI mod
Followed everything exactly and the game doesn't recognise Realistic Levelling. This is my third attempt at trying to mod this rubbish from clean install. Fucked.
