My favorite CO of the five I served with on Ranger. Worked for/with him on a daily basis. We all referred to him informally as “The Big Guy” - and for A DAMN GOOD REASON ! Highest respect from me, Edward T. Weeden

They don't make them like this anymore. These kids today are taught to hate this great country. It makes me sick how these kids can be protesting for terrorists of palestine and protesting against this country. We may have the worst president of all time. He's a traitor and America hater, but there are some of us still who know what it means to be a citizen of the greatest country in history and if we dont respect it best believe it will be taken away from us.
It's joy enjoy fully
LT Sharp's s story brought the tears welling up. AMAZING BRAVERY and PASSIONATE Inspiration!
WOW, THIS WAS INCREDIBLE!!!! I THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! This is the PATRIOTISM I felt while I served my 22 years in Naval Aviation. God Bless Y'all and your effects in these historic videos.
wow, so damn good
Their dedication to country is immeasurable. I'm humbled by their courage, and the stories told made me tear up and cry... Thank you a million for your service, sirs
As, a Marine Grunt from 68-69. That is Nam in a Nutshell. Same Bull shit never go in and extract the same way. However, was violated time and time again! G/2/5 An Hoa 68-69
Great video! Thanks!
"Greased anvil" did it for me 😂😂
Subbed. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist thats been a part of Naval Air to know that this is the real thing!
Being a Viet Nam era vet, Johnson and McNamara were extremely evil men. I’m in agreement with the hippies of the day. They got us involved in a war we shouldn’t have been in. But they wanted to make money selling weapons at the expense of the blood of our sons. Rotten Serpents! Literally!
Let me tell you something. There is absolutely nothing like Naval Air. Nothing! I wouldn’t trade a single day of being a part of it.
I proudly served on USS Independence until her decommissioning in 1998.
Pity the nation exalting R. Reagan as it's hero. There is another "hero" that literally shot the man whom he surrendered a min. ago...just disgusting and horrifying people. Cn't watch these cowards anymore.
General Patton was right about The Russians during WWII after they were once our Allies , but never trust one !!!!!!
What a great dicumentary... It captured the critical moments that took place, during these wars... What really hit home about this is when one of the men who was shot, down then captured on a small fishing vessel and had an opportunity to escape but had no choice, but to kill his captor (another young man) to do so... And the way he described it was intense... Both of them were armed , the enemy not knowing he was armed started to aim his rifle before being able to use it onto the man with the pistol , already sighted in... He described that both if them did not want to be pushed into that situation, that both of them could have been sitting at a bar viewing the pretty girls .. After he was forced to kill his captor, he said that he was sorry to have to have done that to him ... He still seemed to feel very bad about that... Let God decide - whether those who did their duties to preserve freedom and happiness back home, and for iur allies; are guilty or innocent of adverse situations that were actually forced upon them... We are Americans, and if we have to, we will FIGHT to preserve our freedom.. The majority of our adversaries, go to war - because they fear the totalitarion ways their leaders threaten their lives and their families lives... We fight to preserve peace... The leaders of totalitarion governments usually start wars to establish power & control over their people...
The Pacific Fleet was not destroyed; 18 of the 96 ships in harbor at the time were either damaged or sunk, all but 3 were raised and repaired and see action later in the war against Japanese!
When I was about 8 or 9 my mother and grandmother took me to see all the ships during fleet week in SF in 1978. I have a picture of my mother, grandmother and I in front of the numbers 61. uss ranger cv 61. April 3 1989. I trapped about the USS RANGER. Left her in on march 3 1993 v5 and v1 crash and salvage. Got work with an pilot call sign "BUG" THE coolest mfer on the planet. He past away open his third ejection. That man thought me so much about the navy and life in it.
You need to put the word “American” at the beginning of your documentary title. Otherwise how could you not have included the British naval aviator, Capt. Eric “Winkle” Brown who made more carrier landings and flew more types of aircraft than anyone has or ever will.
One word. AWESOME👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍👍🇺🇸
Brings me back to being a kid hiding and staying up listening to my dad and the other Naval Aviators talking about their experiences in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s. Real men talking about life, and other men no longer with them. Inspiration and dedication.
GODakes zero mistakes,period!
Your video is very beautiful. I like it a lot. I have been trying to talk to you for a long time. I am waiting for your response. Please give me a chance to talk to you❤️
А что эти педерасты забыли в чужой стране?

2 years in 6 days time goes on for us all as my eye well
"Hope we never have to use it, but if we do, they are in big big trouble". Never better said, thank you Commander! We look forward to your return.
I was there top gun 69’. On the ranger firs six months of 70. F4-J VF 21. Never forget that.
THANK YOU ❤😊 СПАСИБО
I will never forget the stories shared here. Thank you Rod Knutson, Irv Williams, Jack Ensch, and Dave Everett for sharing your experiences. Your fortitude, humor and optimism in fighting the war is inspiring! Welcome home.
great peanut M&M story
So good, I'll never forget it.
I'd like the whole two hours with the 100 year old veteran please !! Every morning before I am fully awake, there is a period of time when I think my dad is still alive, as he was in my dreams seconds beforehand. Is long as I am still very drowsy I consider new things to do with him this day. But by the time I am out of bed of course I know full well that I was half dreaming, that he is long gone, and it's quite hard to reconcile this every day. But it's worth having that short drowsy time to think he is still alive, and still capable.
I love hearing these stories, especially when Vets what to tell you how it was.
I had the distinct honor of RADM Box reelist me as an Air Traffic Controller 2nd Class back in 1993. We are related and love passing on this history to my family. Thank you for this! ACC(AW/SW/MTS) Jess Box (Retired)
salutes to all veterans, watching from philippines
If you don't drink it... you'll wear it
Very good,!

Vietnam war wasn’t to stop communism, look at them now. War is a Big Money scheme!
US Carrier fleet has been the dominant naval power since WWII. It was necessary to provide stability {freedom of religion) for the churches to finish their mission - I'll paraphrase - go ye and teach the nations and 'find my sheep'. Preceding centuries were mainly European naval powers. End of the church age was May 21, 1988. The 'great multitude' was saved during the latter rain (Sept 7, 1994 - May 21, 2011) and ALL of God's elect are now saved. May 21, 2011 ...was the beginning of judgement day on the world. { you were warned } And it shall come to pass in that day, a great tumult from the Lord shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbor, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbor. Zec 14;13 Tumult = disbelief & confusion Division is the result for the destruction of mankind. ...look around, have you read the news lately? DIVISION is rampant in religion, politics both nationally/internationally, science, news, medicine, sports, entertainment, even between the sexes... Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity, I will mock when your fear cometh; Pr 1; 24-26 Fear, and the pit, and the snare are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth. Isaiah 24;17 The biblical calendar of history has been known, published, and studied for over half a century now. There are 40 time-paths pointing to 2033 as the 'last day'. What role the US navy plays for the next/last decade ??? READ THE BOOK ! God is not a man that he should lie. incidentally, the first boat described in the bible had the door shut on the 17th day of the second month; which is 7000 years to the exact 17th day of the second month on May 21, 2011. [bible calendar is lunar] It took Noah and his sons 120 years to build the ark and it set sail seven days after the door was SHUT.
Mr.Sharpe you & him could of never been friends. They were going to turn you over to be most likely being beaten than killed. Its terrible the guilt many veterans carry. My father was a gunner on huey over there and he never really came home.
Awesome people every single one!
