Holy moly
I've had good luck with GE glass led bulbs. They look just like incandescent and have super good drivers on them
@@Warp2090 I like the serviceability of these "snow cone" bulbs. It's why I prefer them. Really wish we'd separated the driver and LEDs similar to the old fluorescent fixtures.

how come mp3 playback is affected? is the "os" that unoptimized?
@@the2323guy The MP3 hardware acceleration is tied (through the SOC's PLL) directly to that 24Mhz crystal. Touch that crystal, and MP3's get decoded at different speeds.
Estaría bien una computadora dentro como zx spectrum o amstrad por ejemplo o aprender a reparar está computadora
I suppose?
I've done this with batteries. I just put one halfway out, but make sure to keep it connected. I just tap the battery or the front of the unit, and I might get some cool glitches.
7-8 mins just to tell us it needs an app!
I... Guess so....
In general if glitching a chip causes it to lock up, it's probably microcontroller based. Something that's ASIC based (eg, a 4 function calculator) is a finite state machine (well, technically ALL computers are finite sta... You get the point) and as such, don't execute code. It's all hard coded logic. Glitching can cause these devices to enter weird states (garbage data being on the screen, or the ball on a Game and Watch clone disappearing) but they usually continue to respond to input. But something that's microcontroller based can have critical registers (like the program counter) get corrupted, resulting in the thing to stop executing code correctly, thus hanging. Some stuff, like the TI-7 Math Mate, are a weird hybrid of the two. That calculator doesn't have any ram, but does have a program rom! Everything happens in it's (really large) specialized registers. It also doesn't implement a stack (or even a subroutine return register if I'm remembering correctly), so it can't <i>really</i> be crashed. Glitching will cause it to jump around, and then eventually crawl back to the main function.
can it run linux
@@PTTEntertainment Eh..... Not sure about that, maybe ucLinux. If you could magically tweebulate the mask rom. Not bog standard Linux though.
Also, make it run doom and I’ll nominate you for a Nobel Prize
This type of engineering is like black magic to me
Thats really cool! Wonder what OS/program its running!
@@leontechtalks It'll just be "bare metal". It's essentially the same as an Arduino program. It doesn't have an OS.
Now it's ready for doom.
you won the recomended roulette

Interesting. I have one of these. Is it possible to copy the content from the Flashback Blast using UART?
@@kjetilfrugard8395 Not that i think so sadly.
@@qwertykeyboard5901 To bad. Thought you might be onto something since you managed to view the data. I know it's possible on other mini retro consoles at least.
This calc is actually only one of 2 or 3 that actually has DOUBLE precision... if you do the Calc forensic test on it.. it returns more digits that ANY other scientific calc, from TI, HP, Casio, Sharp
I'm not sure if my clone had that much effort put into it. The STAT variables don't work on mine for example.
Could you type it in the comments because i cant see it in the video
It's in the pinned comment. Although, with the calculator now in a "proper" glitching setup it's much easier to get into these weird menus.
Certanly proof that designs foor poor repairability isnt a just a recent problem for sure
@@MalikDepthside Oh yeah, certainly!
Hello Kevin
Can you do 2nd, 0, 2nd, Pi and show the version it gives? I’m trying to figure out which versions correspond to which manufacturers and motherboards. Also some fun self test stuff in there :) (the self test stuff only works on some calcs but all show version)
@@dylanstech4311 I'll have to do that! Last I remember it responds with "TI 99/4A".
@@qwertykeyboard5901 I don’t think a calculator responds with the model of a home computer
@@dylanstech4311 I miss remembered, it's "T453 11/99".

Not all paper caps are junk depends on the quality. Good paper capacitor can last 15-20 years sometimes longer. I have heard Solar Sealtite were the best paper capacitor back in the day. Also most Russian pio capacitors are good quality and test good no leakage to very little. I reed on radio museum website that you can take a nos paper capacitor soak it in parrafrin wax process fix them. Problem is the wax air gets in them. Hayseed can custom make electrylictic capacitors.

I've had many old iPhones before, I think you just have full storage or opened up every single app in existence?
@@PlexarLol No, it just spontaneously did this until I restarted the phone. Also, the storage was only ~50% full at that time, which is plenty of space for the NAND to do wear leveling, and I'm fairly aggressive with closing stuff out via multitasking. I'm pretty sure it's the battery.
@@qwertykeyboard5901 oh ok, hope you got the issue fixed

i don't really get what seems to be the problem here, is it because it's slow ?
@@fanaticmoose5833 Yes, it was being slow.

@@_eldar6694 Vaguely ominous, but ok.
Years ago, I was surprised to find my barbed wire fence was perfectly tuned to pick up my neighbors baby monitor.
One of my family members has a metal fence in their yard that can inductively couple to the AM bar antenna inside my pocket radio, increasing reception. But only the fence that's on a certain direction. The others arn't as strong.
Never seen a signal tracer quite like that.
