KTM TPI Problem + Easy Fix
Просмотров 26 тыс.4 года назад
My 2020 KTM 300 XC-W TPI began running really poorly quite suddenly. After pulling my hair out for weeks, I discovered a pretty simple fix. Before you spend a few hundred bucks at the dealership, try this out and see if it helps.

Dude I need to know your wheel spacers you have for the back
Bike is currently for sale if anybody’s interested. Bought it from him
SWM SM 500 R Vatm. Ready to ride, raw supermoto based on a husqvarna TE510 endine and frame. Excellent bike, really cheap, good components, 52HP.
😎👍
banger
What’s the reason for taking a non Cush drive wheel?
Did u hv to trim the fork covers?
30hrs aint bad. I did my first top end at 620😂 still had good compression but the piston was slapping
How often do you do top end
Looks amazing, well done 👌🏼
how did you get the mirror on like that?
Neat little project! Couple of things: for that scallop operation, use a ballnose or a bullnose endmill with a small radius. Makes for a much nicer surface with steps 5 times larger. On that adaptive on op 1, leave about 0.05mm of axial stock to leave, then clear it up with a flat toolpath using about 70% stepovers. That way the deflection of your tool doesn't leave those marks. From an aesthetics perspective that obviously doesn't matter too much with the red dot sitting on top, but if you zoom in the optic is now resting on a bunch of ridges instead of a flat surface due to that deflection. Lastly, I'd split op 2 into two separate setups, where you zero off of the excess parts for op 2 and then just do the facing down to the milled surfaces, so that x and y aren't that critical. Then touch off again on the milled faces for op 3.
Nico full the is motorcele

What are the measurements of the wheels front and back please help me
Maybe if you gave us real data showing the actual percentage of failures compared to several people on You Tube that have had problems it would be of value. Anecdotal data is emotion based and should not be used in making any kind of decision.
@user-fz8fy4zl1c Are you saying KTM or TPI is junk?
Why not rip off the oil injection and just mix gas? I really don't see what the big deal with mixing gas is.
Amazing build. What size chain ring and sprocket are you running? I'm doing a similar '22 TE 300i RE supermoto build...
what are those mirrors?
All right im sold, buying one
11:07 what was spacer issue
pls do a 150 build
Great job!! 👍
awesome video buddy. been struggling with my 2022 exc 300. Have done everything to solve it. So hope this works. super star 🙂
Never trust any dealer to fix anything.
Ohhh man, that SPETools endmill packaging is WAY too familiar. You use their 3 flute 1/4" ?? I've beaten that to hell and back, enough that I damaged my CNC router, but it's still working GREAT
I ride my 2022 300xcw TPI on the street as well. I’ve never tried to adjust the power valve and I thought that might be the problem but there is like no cruising. Either I’m on the pipe or not and when I’m not it feels broken up and choppy. Another problem is it seems like it doesn’t like to rev out. When it gets high in the band I feel like it breaks up. The bike has less than 50 hours on it. I’m going to try to mess with the power valve to see if that changes anything but after seeing this I think I might buy a sensor just to have it on hand in case the valve doesn’t fix the problem. Any opinions on the bike not reving out?
Sounds like a 1900s issue trying to listen to cassettes
Keep the name it’s iconic
Dana white?!?!
Do you recall about how long the cycle time was on that one part? I know it was a year ago, just comparatively curious.
buy some gloves
adds too much weight
@@SUPERMOTIVE 😂
do you use paid f360 software? or free?
Paid, however the hobbyist license retains pretty much all of the functionality I used in this video
Looks good. One note: 3D adaptive isn’t meant for finishing. Leave 0.01 or so and then (for this kind of part) use horizontal to finish.
I had one of these a loong time ago. 2008 300 EXC, almost new. Powerfull and nimble bikes. That has always been what why I like ridin' motorcyles so much. I've ridden a 900 touring the last 5 - 6 years now, but I always look back from time to time, and dreaming of having a second nimble + powerfull bike with an eargasm sound. And the 250/300 fits that role perfect. Bad negatives sides with these bikes are fuel economy, not the cheapest bikes to buy or maintain so it's the smart choise.. But.. It's the fun choice! Whitout a doubt😀😍
Nice, I own one and will be following along. 👍
Bro what’s the link for the graphics
Custom from Rival Ink Design
Sweet build man! What did you do to your suspension??? I have a 2015 fe501s. Cranking down the preload on the shock helps. Trying to figure out what can be done to the front. Thinking stiffer spring, heavier oil, and dropping the triples a bit. What do ya think???
omg it looked so cool stock.
Terrific video!
That's was awesome man! Beautiful build. Now can you build one for me?
200hrs on my 300xc tpi. Original ccps and oil pump. Did my 1st top end and spark plug at 165hrs.
I have a TPI supermoto like the guy in this video, no problems at all with power delivery so far, however, over the last couple of rides the exhaust note has changed and makes a terrible metallic sound. Any idea what that could be? Bike has very low hours and I ride it carefully
Probably a bad CCPS. Check out my other video on how to fix a faulty CCPS
Sickkkk!! This video deserves more views!
That’s badass 🔥
Cool. Im from indonesia
Hey man, haha I am actually a car guy. Got me a R32 Skyline with a fully forged RB25/30 so happy to see you come into the scene. But if you thought TPI was bad, you are entering a rabbit hole with JDMs. Pure money pit! Hence why I got into bikes. Anyways, I am so bummed for you. Those problems with TPI scare me. But I might just buy a used with low hours and upgrade those parts to something more reliable. Keen to see your journey
Just realised that you cut the suspension guard to clear that small section of the tyre. What about when the shocks move up and down?
The guard moves with the shocks. It’s mounted to the fork bottoms
@@SUPERMOTIVE That makes more sense! I am going from riding a CBR 650R to a KTM 300 EXC 2019 (soon to be super Moto). Was is worth it? I am having some doubts because I ride often and I know ill rack up heaps of hours and miles
@@MrHardbodies I ride an FE501 now, I did really enjoy this bike though. I think it’s worth it, I have another video on my channel where I did a review on the bike after 40 hours of supermoto use
@@SUPERMOTIVE I’ll watch it for sure. I have just one more silly question. Does 40 hours of riding feel like a long time? I feel like I can do that in one month? 😅
you're vids are great quality. keep up the good work.
Sick build man, how much did everything cost?
