is this the same method for the FRH sister guitar? except it has a piezo in the bridge...
You don't want a perfectly flat neck. It's best to have a bit of relief
Nice video :O!!!!. Mine TOD10N have a crazy action when it arrived
which tools do i need to do this?
My understanding is that the action is pretty similar to what one would see on a classical guitar. At the very least, mine shipped with similar action, about 3 mm on the low E and high E
@Heavy Blur and anyone else with this guitar you must try Hannabach Silver Special 815's (red package Super High Tension) even if you think you have a good set of strings on just believe me and try them. So many sets that say "extra hard tension" if you dig enough and find the individual string tensions of the set they almost never have 14.5+ lbs on the G string and some other strings too. You need 14.5 lbs minimum to get a good action without string buzz on this guitar. Tim does NOT use those horrible EJ45's the promote by the way and those have like 11 lbs on the G which is a joke. Also, you get way better volume/tone with these strings it's really night and day. I tried about 20 sets and the only other set that could compete with these did not have the clarity on the treble because they were carbon but they were okay, the other 18 sets were as horrible as the EJ45's.
Isn’t high tension strings what caused peoples’ bridges to rip off though? I heard you don’t want too much tension on nylon guitars
Also how does it affect intonation?
@@Shpoonman no, peoples bridges were ripping off because of incorrect glue used and they remedied that. The guitar can take far more tension than what an extra couple pounds is on proper strings.
So what's the lowest you can take it then 2.0mm at the 12th right? I took mine to 2.1mm before seeing this video coincidentally but it's nice to see someone else talking about this besides me on reddit lmao
Another guitar tech said 1.75mm but stopped at 2.0 bc he didnt want to overshoot and it felt ok to him at 2.0
hey what’s the allen key size for this truss rod ??
wondering the same thing as mine did not come with one, did you find out?
I really want to do this to mine…
Dam I was thinking about getting either this or the normal Tod10 but have been hearing that they have way to many qc issues
Yup i just got mine off ebay, crossing my fingers 🤞
you should react to some mateus asato, his solo on (Drown - polyphia), (mateus asato paul davids solo) or (kyoto jam) they're all great
This is the most specialized guitar channel on youtube. Hella tight.
Kept hearing about this issue and was kind of worried about it. Got my TOD10N a week ago from Sweetwater and I have no issue with the action. Super playable right out of the box. And I'm coming from electric, specifically an RG550 Genesis with a wizard neck and super low action.
That's because Sweetwater inspects all the guitars and setup it up before shipping so it is playable right out the box. How is the guitar feeling so far?
@@alwaysalive3 can't say enough about the Sweetwater experience. They set a high standard. As for the guitar it's lightweight, a joy to play, especially with the archetype Tim Henson amp plug-in. But it's got those issues that all nylon string guitars have, have to retune often (comes with a built in tuner that works decently enough), and the higher action but honestly it doesn't take much pressure to fret the notes and chords so it's a non-issue for me. For the price I don't think you can do much better
Thank you very much! Can you share the action measurement at the 12th fret on high E and low E (after filling) Thanks!
I can’t wait to get mines🔥🎸
What’s that Allen key size for the truss rod in the beginning?
4mm Parts catalog: cs.hoshinogakki.co.jp/pcw.nsf/item.xsp?documentId=9BF036FBC9AF34CA4925892C007A9F66&strItemKey=TOD10N_TKF_5B_01&curSuffix=5B01&curFromYMTX=2022/09&curToYMTX=&strMode=newpage
do you actually play anything?
Most annoying or best for mathcore dudes?? Would love some how to do xyz riff vids. Show me a tasty riff and break down how to play it.
