Getting all bands for your Radtel/baofeng Radio - upgrade your radios firmware for more!!
Просмотров 2322 месяца назад
The radio you buy does not come with the update installed even though it’s capable of receiving all bands they do not come that way out of the box. Using an amazon Radtel cable and going to Radtel for the software and firmware, this is how you update your radio to be able to utilize more of the frequency bands……..

Pulling seized Volvo 122s caliper piston

Could not get a seized caliper piston removed from 1965 Volvo amazon, so I tried (and it worked), but I welded a 3/8-16x1.5” bolt across the piston and used a small puller and tools for support pulling bracing and gas able to pull it out so that the caliper can be rebuilt!

New-80v Powersmart snowblower failed again!
Great !
Can u listen to police??
considering the use case is for when you don't have access to power, this is pretty niche issue
Agreed, but inconvenient if you want to charge items during the day, but don’t want to loose day light charging of the power supply. But yes they are handy
Yeah well you shouldn't be even having anything on gmrs without a valid FCC license read the damn packaging that comes in those boxes that these radios come in especially those stupid gmrs FRS blister pack radios that people think they can just turn on channel 15 through 22 without a license well guess what I have caught several people on channel 15 through 22 who are not licensed and I told them they need to get a valid FCC license or face dire consequences
Is it possible to put the cb?
I believe you just have to update the firmware first, I put a brief video today.
How did you put the 027 frecuency? I have bought one but I dont know how tu put it.
If I remember correctly, I was able to do it after updating the software via the computer using the Radtel or baofeng cable
I do think this radio is fairly easy to program, manually. It seems very logical and easy. Set up the VFO frequency as you want to use it, then save it to an empty channel slot. After that you can assign an alpha-numeric name to that channel, with 12 or 13 characters. I have also used both the Radtel & Chip programs. I found Chirp much easier to use. It allows Cut and Paste of entire lines of programming, you have saved from another file. So you can easily load up your new radio.
How switch between VFO and Channel mode? Tell pls
You press the button with the arrow on it "<". Its to the right of the #3 button.
@@chrissewell1608 I really appreciate it 👍

Bonjour, Votre vidéo semble très intéressante. Vous serait il possible de transmettre un lien pouvant trouver la notice en français, voir éventuellement en faire la traduction en fichier pdf?. Merci à vous
Has anyone else used the Radtel Programining cable from Amazon, and have your computer not recognize the Port #? Or be able to read / write to the radio?
It’s very clunky….half the time It leaves you wondering if you even doing anything….lol
Turn dam beep off
Don't be a hater! 😅
Some users managed to unlock the TX in the airband by pressing PPT + key 8 when starting the radio. I tried, it shows "expand" after the restart, but still no TX in the airband. have you tried it?
I have not tried this but will have too see if it does anything
@@HeyOgre Might be also a firmware thing; I am currently on V2.13A
Please tell me, how are you on 27mhz? Does installing the official full band firmware unlocks it for cb? And does it actually receive it? Or is this a custom firmware?
@@ExploringWithJason Airband isn’t 27Mhz; it is 108 - 136 Mhz.
@@neighborsgoat I know, but your screen says 027mhz, that's a cb channel, was curious if that's the official firmware and if it can actually receive CB

I myself listen to the local airport….so yes
Any secret unlock button entries?
Honestly don’t know any yet
Turn the annoying beep off!
Thanks. I want to know how to enter a repeater channel
Do you know your repeater channel number? This baofang article should help you get the corresponding frequency based on channel so you can program into your radio……www.baofengradio.com/blogs/news/difference-between-simplex-and-repeater-channels
Thanks for the video. The stupid manual is not worth a crap!!
You are correct! 😂
It does leave many details out. I was able to fill in the blanks & gaps, only because I already own a Baofeng radio, made by Radtel. Some of the features and functions are similar.
So many options...so few buttons. The firmware is primitive compared to the Baofeng firmware, but the battery and power settings are powerful. I'm not a big VFO fan, but this is the most powerful HT I have. I have two meters and three radios. The power settings are as follows: Frequency HIGH MED LOW ---------------------- 140.000 13.75W 7.36W 5.75W 142.725 13.30W 8.71W 3.69W 143.500 13.55W 8.67W 3.89W 144.000 13.61W 7.40W 5.92W 146.355 14.45W 7.31W 3.54W 440.525 10.93W 5.03W 1.86W 442.000 11.36W 5.17W 1.89W 446.252 11.34W 5.24W 2.00W The radio, at MEDIUM setting, is a bit more powerful than most other radios, which run about 4.62W-8W. You most likely won't need the HIGH setting (11W-14W), but it's nice to have in case. The LOW setting fluctuates depending on frequency. Great radio. With a cross band repeater, this thing would be awesome. But you can't have everything. (That's why I like the TYT TH-UV8000 radio the best.) The TH-UV8000's power are: Frequency HIGH LOW ------------------ 140.000 9.22W 6.03W 142.725 9.84W 6.03W 143.500 9.98W 6.05W 146.355 10.40W 6.23W 440.525 10.50W 5.73W 442.000 9.86W 5.68W 446.252 9.57W 5.58W
Thanks for the info!
Es malo mucha potencia? Porque la tyt 8000, no tiene mucha
My power readings were taken with three radios with two meters. They are as follows: Frequency HIGH MED LOW ---------------------- 140.000 13.75W 7.36W 5.75W 142.725 13.30W 8.71W 3.69W 143.500 13.55W 8.67W 3.89W 144.000 13.61W 7.40W 5.92W 146.355 14.45W 7.31W 3.54W 440.525 10.93W 5.03W 1.86W 442.000 11.36W 5.17W 1.89W 446.252 11.34W 5.24W 2.00W The color display is beautiful, but the actual software settings were somewhat basic. It's the most powerful HT I have and, at 3600mAh, the battery is the second most potent battery (the Baofeng UV-5R 3800mAh battery being the most powerful). Keep the antenna away from your head with this thing. My favorite radio is the TYT TH-UV8000 10W because of the cross band repeater, the RT-470 being my second favorite. The third favorite is my Tidradio TD-H6.
Thanks for the work!
Hello , why keep the antena away from the head ?
Thanks for showing this, the passage in the Haynes manual on removal is quite breezy: "This is a straight-forward operation and will present no problems" lololol. OTOH the Autopress book is candid about the challenge presented by the little copper pipe.
Glad it was helpful! Sometimes the repair manuals are very basic about stuff for sure. I am trying to post videos about things that I’m not seeing in regards to this car, to hopefully help others as I chug along with going through it fixing, cleaning and bringing it back from being forgotten.
@@HeyOgre good luck with your project! I have had a '68 for years now and I finally couldn't put off taking care of the heater box any longer, it's full of mulch and dumping water into the interior. Oops!
Based on how mine was I can totally see that happening! Hopefully it goes good for you, might need a new rubber drain pipe as well. mine was rotted away
Hello..does the programming cable for the boafeng work for the radtel?
I believe so from what I’ve seen….here is list of radios they work with from Radtel on Amazon……RT-490 RT-470 RT-470X, UV-K5 RT-590, Compatible RT12 RT-890 RT-830 8800 Plus UV9D AR-869 jc-8629
From what I’ve seen, it seems most of the China made radios use a cable that plugs into the mic and speaker plug….radtel does just like boafeng
Just like my Baofeng
@@HeyOgre Yes, the cable works. The software is different..
I enjoy seeing someone working with basic tools, not in a shop environment. But enjoying my junkyard 122 for 10 years now.❤
