Battleship controls prototype in Godot
This is video of my Battleship game, one of several game projects I been working on, to explore what I can make, and to better learn Godot.
I'm fond of idea of being able to control the whole ship from top-down perspective, as well as being able to walk on the deck in FPS! Though I has no purpose at the time of recording, you can see it at the end of the video.
BG music is soundtrack of game Crystar, it just been in background while I was recording

Baking Normal Map from high-poly in under 1 minute

A short guide on baking details from high-poly mesh to a normal map to use with low-poly mesh. Blender version in video is 4.2.2. If you need, I could also make a video addressing common errors in baking normal maps. Or make a video about free plugin GrabDoc. Music used is Elmshore from the game Pillars of Eternity.

    Are you going to have it so AI fires the weapon systems you ain't controling at the moment (when you control the primary guns, AI controls secondary guns, torpedoes and AA guns)? And being able to set target proirity, so it doesn't fire topredoes on fast ships or when friendly ships are betwwen you and the enemy?

      That's among the things I want to test the most. I want to try being able to control all guns and tubes; but AA is most definitely would be AI (since I have no ideas on how to make controlling up to 30 guns not overwhelming). Controlling guns and tubes individually seems fine for small ships sometimes, and for larger maybe group them somehow? In later prototypes i tried binding individual guns to a pair of keys (num7, num8; num4, num5) to rotate individual guns, and to me it felt fine for medium sized destroyers such as Shiratsuyu class, but I'd like to also test it in a combat scenario. Perhaps there would be more things to think about besides rotating guns? Other things I wanted to test are switching between ships, and walking around the ship in first person. Thank you for feedback!! I use this project rather as a place to discover how feasible my conceits are, and there are several other projects I want to toy with, instead of sticking to and retrying this one. But the feedback is encouraging.
