I went myself and it was an okay exhibition, not fantastic, but, a bit overpriced, now, if they had live actors I would have been extremely impressed, plus, putting displays in glass cases makes it extremely difficult to get decent photographs, that white room was a huge let down, could have really done something impressive in there.

Have to admit, i want Universal as much as the next enthusiast, but I think the Gov thats been in office all of 5 seconds, during a cost of living crisis, after a suprrise snap election, probably does have bigger things to think about in this immediate second. I'll panic if theres no movements come year end. In terms of do I think it will happen? Still think very likely. But thats with the caveat that I wont be taking it as a given until theyve broken ground and I have said all along that if anything stops it, i suspect it will be to do with UK planning. So we shall see.

Either way it will take years to build and most older people will never get to visit it when the park eventually opens.

Well we recently just had a government change give it a tiny bit of time also if Labour want this to happen it will do also its a big plus going into the next election that labour got Universal done.

How Did It Got Delayed???

Even if it costs hundreads of millions of £ to build some roads and railway upgrades etc. That is still around 0.01% of their budget. The government doesn't want the tax payer paying for infrastructure that is only really for the benefit of the park, without the park those upgrades don't need to exist so the park should really foot the bill and its a drop in the ocean to their budget. I'm not seeing any evidence of delays though, since no deadline was ever really given to start with. Universal has made parks around the world they surely accounted for these situations. The last government not being able to agree on a financial support package could just be because there was no point given they knew an election was coming, so the government did not focus on it since anything they agree without could've been undone by the next government.

Should the title read “Delayed?”. As this is largely conjecture and how you read into it. The letter says the previous government couldn’t agree to a financial package. It doesn’t say communication or discussions broke down. I understand people feel the need to make content on this as it’s potentially so huge. But I think this is likely a non story. It’s simply that an election was called and the people that were dealing with this on the government side have since changed. Of course they couldn’t agree, the government changed. 😅

Well Universal did state that they'll come to a decision (possible approval towards the end of the year). The delay is due to the surprise election being called and the new labour govt being in place. The election threw a slight spanner in the works but luckily the local MP who was reelected seemed to be doing a good job trying to press forward with it. I suspect that most likely that Universal will likely agree to this at the earliest of September.

Great looking coaster but no health and safety in Germany anymore. Lifting crew wearing no ppe. No one wearing hi vis. No hard hats. No gloves. No safety shoes. All looks very chilled and cozy. Until someone gets injured

This is my home park, i live about 20 minutes away, may look at getting a job here in the future as other theme parks such as Alton Towers and Drayton Manor are around an 1hour and a half away. I would love to work at Thorpe Park but thats 3 hours away 😢

I'd love to take a walk around The Curse at Alton Manor with all of the house lights on, operate the ride and take in the ride from a whole new perspective while running up on the gantries that surround the ride above! Also, limited edition merch to commemorate it wouldn't go amiss either 🙂

Id love a VIP behind the scenes tour of The Curse at Alton Manor at Alton Towers Resort. I have fallen in love with this ride and i just think it is brilliant and i just have to ride it everytime i visit the park and i notice different little details everytime i ride. Been able to walk around this ride in a VIP tour with the lights on to see all the effects and cenory up close would be amazing and i would definatkey pay for this experience!

Behind the scenes of a big major dark ride. Like Curse at Alton Manor - or if I could go back In time the old Terror Tomb now Tomb Blast at Chessington. Just being able to appreciate the scenes from different angles see the full set pieces etc see a different side.of them with the lights on as well.

So if I did a VIP experience I would do Ghost Train at Thorpe Park because there is so much that goes into it and I think it would be really exciting to see that.

I would definitely go to a place like this. We don't even have a decent Renaissance Festival anymore. This would be amazing.

Disney could use a dark ride/coaster hybrid type of ride like revenge of the mummy at universal. This could fit the villains land or if they decided, a dr strange ride.

okay I am a pass holder and OBV don't pay for the entry and agree £10 is not to bad price however for a none pass holder it takes 2 hours of your day that many people have also paid £50+ to get in. Also people who don't like rides/have a park tickets should be able to pay the £10 and be collected from out side the resort to come in do the tour and then be taken back out at the end like Chessington offer with the tours they do. Glad you enjoyed it though ... will try it soon :~P - Just a quick add on - you mentioned that £10 is going to help with the "none graffiti aspect" ---- just because they are adding a tour does not mean they can not stop people going in to it so that COULD still happen" also the £ 10 you mentioned will "Just cover the staff wages" so wont go to the restoring of the vandalism unfortunately.
