I just sold 1 item which is a user account for for a game after selling once I got a policy violation, wtf is wrong with this shitty platform? Can’t even make 5 lousy euros , they robbed me with fees and almost leave you with nothing…. I’m fed up with this…

Ebay charges tax to those who buy and tax to sellers on tghe exact same item, so the government is collecting taxes going and coming. Double dipping. I am furious over it

how does eBay even *let* a buyer file a claim if the tracking info doesn't even show it's been delivered yet?

Ebay has definitely become pro-buyer and anti-seller, but they did make a couple of concessions to sellers; buyers now have to wait a few days before they can leave negative feedback giving sellers time to resolve issues and I’ve heard it’s now possible for sellers (with some persistence) to have negative feedback removed. This explains why there are so many sellers with 100% feedback, but eBay is only looking out for itself here since it benefits by appearing to be a more legitimate, safe place to shop. And yes they definitely hide listings to push you into their various promotional schemes which can easily push their 14% base fee to a ridiculous 25%. I’ve been on eBay since 1999 but use it very sparingly these days.

No idea why fools don't use Mercari. My sales on there are over 10x what eBay was after 22 years on there. After 1 year. Screw Whatnot,- they are trash.

eBay was really good, but I've done with it now I just seem to get scammed when I sell something people making claims when they had it and eBay selling costs and hiding listings unless you pay to promote is just bullshit. Andy UK.

There was no reason to take the shipping claim personally. Just reply with "the item was shipped june 30th" and post the tracking number. That's it, anything else he says or does, just ignore it, ebay would've sided with you if you had proof of shipping on the 30th.

Here in Europe Ebay has now a comeback, they are reasonable for private sellers. And it looks that my target audience (collectors of movie items) is fair enough. But i see the difference when you sell to normal people, they will take advantage. I think we all have to judge for ourself and our niche. There is just nothing, absolute nothing, as alternative in Europe/Germany.

Thats why I sell small stuff on ebay and sell expensive things on offer up

Don't get discourage on little incidents, not many buyers are like that. Learn from lesson and move on. My first time selling on eBay almost 20 years ago, I get a $1k sales of game cards, buyer want them digitally emailed and I did. Payment reversed due to unauthorized buyer, and I'm still on eBay.

The pay to play was one thing, but the bitchy customers and the shitty post office is what's doin' it for me

I was a buyer since 2001, 100% feedback,. Recently started selling my sport cards collection on there and they decided they will now withhold the funds of new sellers for 90 days. Yet, they take every fee immediately, leaving me to pay for supplies, shipping, everything, with absolutely ZERO payment. How the Fck can someone sell and pay all expenses, including every possible fee they can gouge me for, and despite my feedback I am still literally funding the whole thing, while they took their fees directly from my bank account. Unbelievable! Good luck maintaining your sellers running this circus. As soon a second I get paid for my listings, of which they now owe me almost 3 grande, kiss my arse goodbye!

I am as well as my sister Legacy Ebay high positive sellers too since the late 90's and you speak the absolute truth here and is why I am no longer using it much at all myself these days. They want to be another Walmart/Amazon copycat model website now. It's as if one day we woke up and were put onto an entirely different website and platform and the real Ebay no longer existed in this universe! As a matter of fact when I first started with Ebay I had been selling at the real Fleamarkets and Antique malls. But Ebay offered a great way to sell more for more and have fun in doing so. As of this last month, I went back to selling at real Fleamarkets and I have sold more in one month than I have sold on Ebay over the last 6 months with the exact same merchandise because I deleted those items off of Ebay and brought them to my real world Fleamarket as the actual proof in the pudding. They simply do not sell for you anymore as salesmen that they are actually supposed to be for you and have always been in the Legacy days. Plus they have more or less completely destroyed what made them in the first place AUCTIONS! Now they are focusing on destroying the sellers that made them what they are today as well! You said it and I'll say it too, Ebay Sucks!

I'm watching this a year after it was uploaded. I just started reselling. I watched A LOT of the videos on here, joined some reddits, long before I listed my first item. It sounds like the buyer ran a scam on those comics. They knew what they were doing, they took advantage of eBay's policies. When they stated that you were taking it personally, that was the tip off.

On my account, 1052 transactions, as a buyer / seller, only 55 items sold. 100% positive feedbacks, buyers don’t give a S@$& about leaving a nice review, after selling for a couple months Im done with eBay. It’s like swimming against the waves. I really understand your frustration bud.

I have been with Ebay for 24 years, - I have a feedback of 800 and a rating of 99 % because some turkey claims he did not get a $25 item after I definitely sent it. So I lose the item, my $25 and my "top rating" is knocked back to "below standard." I spoke to Ebay, they said "so what". I closed my shop and I would think that their sales commission is about 20

I'm sad that sellers aren't being treated right on ebay. A buyer shouldn't be able to scam a seller like that, that's disgusting sinful behavior and it's sinful that ebay allows it.

I'm at this point - today - right now. I'm full time and my 30 day total is now HALF what it was 2 years ago. I'll probably put $500 in my pocket this month. It's a joke at this point. Everything I buy is more and more expensive and Ebay is just saturated with everything I list. Got a negative today from a buyer that never even bothered to contact me on a new in packaging, vintage item. At this point I'm ready to punch a clock, do what I'm told for 40 hrs and be done with it.

Don't know whether to laugh or cry. A 60 year-old man whining like a little... Big time sellers and many small sellers know how to manipulate the algos. By far, the most important skill to have as a reseller.

I started selling regularly on eBay for the last 6 months. I have discovered you can't grow a small business. Their 80% reduced fees don't work. It's a con, I'm winding down and giving it up!

eBay turned 5 of my buy it now to auctions which I absolutely did not do myself. With no reserve. Just got off the phone with India. Trying to remove fees I shouldn’t have. Something is definitely up w eBay.

I was selling on eBay and I still do but now I don't care what my feedback score is and I am only selling to clear some stuff out i won't be held hostage by scamming buyers and eBay has enabled buyers to steal my stuff by saying they didn't receive it even though postage says was delivered and then just giving them a full refund from my account. Ebay is so greedy they are the only ones that make any money and the post office the seller makes nothing and gets robbed by the buyers with the help of eBay. EBay is a company of greedy selfish losers that can not be contacted and because they are so greedy they have opened a nice big hole in the market for a new platform to get a foothold hopefully someone is working on that now.

As a Comic Book Collector, As soon as I seen The Label and tape on The Box I cringed. That person is an idiot who mailed that to you. I feel like now if I Buy any sort of Collectible I have to message the Buyer and instruct them how to package it.

Just a rant: I'M DONE BUYING ON EBAY. They fraudulently represented wrong wheel bearings for my car that I didn't know were wrong until over a year later when I was finally able to do the work, (due to another car issue and having to delay the work). $200 they screwed me for has just cost them $618.96 in returns and the loss of my business of hundreds of dollars a month. I'm going to cut down my time here on their RUclips platform also. I hate Google and everything they do. They are all idiots.

Ebay only has itself to blame for the massive downturn in sales. Ebay was working fine until they imposed extortionate fees. No one's going to want to sell at a loss. Plus no one negotiates on ebay anymore and your best offers for your items are ignored. You'd be better selling your items to cash converters or a second hand shop.

BIG SCAMMERS !! After been an Amazon seller for 7+ years with 0 problems. I desired to give it a try to this scammer I open my store after bean a buyer for over 9 years. Sold 58 Items in 2 weeks After paid promo fees and more. now they are holding my $$$ for 6 months With a total of $3600+ dollars. Big companies scamming minority who are also they buyer and support they company for so many years. What a shame ! Please note that They suspend my account and request all my personal info. After I send all the info requested to them and more they reinstall my account and 20 minutes later was block again. Now I have my money on hold for 6 months after $ invested, time, supplies etc. how is possible for a company in USA TO DO WHAT EVER THEY WANT WITH THE CONSUMERS ? I'm an Amazon for over 7 years and never had a single problem. Lots of other platforms. Amazon is great for books. Amazon might be great & I think Google just started a platform. Lots of other ebay folks are complaining.

I retired from flipping 8 years ago. I just got back into the game the week before Christmas. At this point, I have pulled everything off of eBay. They are an unflushable turd circling the bowl now. I'm in the middle of packing and moving. I've donated about half of my inventory. Once I get to where I'm going I will use an app that I came across that will let me list once and it will cross-list on 4-5 platforms. EBay will NOT be one of them.
