That was a sweet climb. I have seen this ice from rt8 , not sure where the state and private lands arewhere did you park and start your apprach from?
wow!! what a rush that must've been! Any idea how steep the slab was? I just finished Kilburn Headwall in the rain and thought this might be my next step forwards!
It's not that bad. So.e sections are pretty steep, but we also purposely looked for more difficult challenges. Alot of difficult scrambles can be avoided. It is a fun slide, but not super difficult
Fr
Great encounter .it amazes me how they make it in such cold climates.im sure there are many dens since there are alot of rocky areas. Reptiles sure are an amazing part of living on earth.cheers
when I visited lake George I'm GLAD I didn't see none( I didn't know they had rattle Snakes in UP North)Shit.....

Summer 2021 I spotted a Timber rattler on east dollar island. Them guys can swim for sure so if you’re camping on lake George islands keep that in mind
Timber not agkistrodon.!! Dr. G. Z.
Lake George where???????????????
He's not rattling at the moment so he's definitely a calm rattler
Timber Rattler
I kinda see the orange line running down its back
Hey Jim, thanks for sharing I actually live near assembly point and I know the tongue man range very well. I hunt that mountain. I’ve never seen a rattler though. But, I know they are around.
That kush looks tasty!
Beautiful 😍
“Oregano” 😂 love it
Galatians 1:4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:
Praise Jesus 🎊
Yes, that describes this snake perfectly. Well done. Jolly good...
Be gone christian
@@colinthereptileguy 👎 no, go back to the middle east
That's not a rattlesnake. It's a cottonmouth, aka a water moccasin.
Look at the tail. Hes got a rattle. Very common Lake George peaks especially noted in tongue range
Absolutely no Cottonmouths even close to Lake George.
Look down below the black and you'll see the dark stripes of the timber. I've never seen one that dark.
I am from upstate NY bout 10 miles from Lake George. We don't have cottonmouths up here. We do have rattlesnakes from time to time just not very often. Yes it is a rattler
I grew up in a small town right on lake george and that is without a doubt a rattlesnake.ive seen them on several of the islands and mountian ranges.there is alot more of them in the area than people think
He’s eating good. Nice and chunky. They look great in the dark phase.
That does look like salmon, possibly carp
Carp..... definitely carp
Love them!!
That looks scary as hell

Great job on the video. I love getting off the beaten trail like this. Thanks for sharing.
Wow! That's a special Adirondack time capsule! I'm like you guys, I'm really interested in what that must have looked like in 1948 -- can you imagine?! Awesome! Thanks for sharing the adventure!
One last hurrah for a lean-to that has had a long life ♡ I heard it was built around 1945.
Can't you hold the camera steady???
Nope
Nice trip. Been there many times in the past. In fact, the stretch of trail between Wolf Pond and Cage Lake is my favorite, perhaps the most wild in all the Adirondacks. Unfortunately, Sand Lake is not quite as remote as it seems. It is only about 4 miles to the southwest (via herd path and trail) to Bear Pond Road, a driveable dirt road that allows access to the Watsons East Triangle Wild Forest as well as both the Pepperbox and Five Ponds Wildernesses. A beautiful spot regardless, and one of my favorites.
Cool, Jim
Awesome performance!
