@@MiddleagedGrom looked like storm darragh gave the Welsh boys some good swell. Seen a funny video posted on the BBC facebook page about surfers out in the storm. Hope you have a good trip 🤟🤟🤟

Maybe waiting for the wide sets but yes I would be sitting on that main peak. Thanks for watching

Try it yourself. You will notice that some days taking off right at the peak dont give path for the wave. Its a very shifting point. That day its was 6ft and up i was tripping balls to make the drop on the sets at the back while guys were gettin barrelled at the inside. Its not an easy wave

Hello Clive, thanks for watching the video. Where did you stay when you visited? Sounds like you both had a good trip. Its been a good run of waves up there the past few months. We were on a surf charter called Pelagic. Did you see us up there?

Lol - from SA it's 43 hours of travel - I'd give my left nut to only fly 6 hours 😂

Thanks for watching the video. Yes a Mentawai boat trip is an expensive trip and surf travel to remote areas isn't for everyone. Personally I avoid the playgrounds region because of the crowds. Although some guests request to go there. Plenty of other areas are less crowded if your willing to explore. Sounds like you had a bad experience on your trip, did you already try a boat trip or did you visit a land camp. Cheers Luke 🤙🤙

​@photobossbali did 4 boat trips in early 2000s and built a holiday house near bankvaults in 2010 - and that's with needing to travel 46 hours from SA to get there and watching rising crowd numbers over the last 20 years. You can't moan about the ments 😂
