Yearend wrap up from Solid Performance About KTM
Evan talks to clients about the state of KTM corporate and what to expect in 2025.
Hey, everyone. Evan, for solid performance. Just wanted to take the time out to thank all of our clients for an amazing 2024.
For myself and all of our staff here. We work our butts off. And, a lot of that is in part to you, so thank you. Thank you very much.
Next thing I wanted to talk about the internet seems to be losing your mind over is the restructuring of KTM. corporate in Europe. I've had a lot of good conversations with all the executive team that I've been personally friends with for many, many years.
I've been involved with KTM since 2008 and a dealer since 2013. I'm not losing any sleep over some o...

    As you tension (preload) the steering nut and compress the bearing, I find the fork will slide UP in the clamp because the distance between the upper and lower triple plan decreases. Which means the fork height (set to second engraved line) will now be off - any advice on this? Does it make sense to tighten the UPPER clamp while tightening the steering bearings, so the fork simple slides DOWN in the lower clamp and doesn't screw up the height adjustment??

    Great video! Thanks for the great content. I use the same electronic torque wrenches and wanted to tell you about a cool feature. When you were torquing the oil drain bolt you put it at a 90 deg so it would not effect the torque those torque wrenches have a feature where you can measure the length from the middle of the 3/8 drive to the center of the tool (the dog bone you were using in this case) and set the “head length” and then it does all the math so you can use it straight if you need to

    How hoping to take from this video is this you’re gonna put it in the shop and it’s gonna sit there for months that would be fine if it’s somebody that only rides 200 miles a year on their bike which a lot of people do a lot of people don’t know they have issues because a lot of people only put 200 miles on their bike. I don’t wanna hear how much it’s gonna cost me to bring my warranty bike in for cam issues or to check the camps. I would like to know for a fact, they repaired the cams. That way we don’t have this issue that would be respectable. Thank you.

    • @sp-ktm
      @sp-ktm 4 месяца назад

      I think you are in the window for spring rates, maybe on the firmer end possibly. What sag are you aiming for currently? We find the new chassis PDS bikes like around 110mm +/-. Reducing the spring rates would help with initial plushness if you are on the lighter end as stated, and still be able to achieve proper sag numbers.

You may also find the one way starting bearing, pressed into the back side of the flywheel, is walking its way out - causing this pressure from the gear into the case (thus causing the aluminum shavings). In that event, you'll need to press it back in and tack weld with a Tig. This may require a shop to inspect / disassemble. At least you will need a flywheel puller to inspect fully.
