The Lagos City Chorale rehearsing ‘I was glad when they said unto me’ just before a major concert in 2021. This piece is culled from Psalm 122: 1-3, 6-7 and composed by Hubert Parry (1848-1918), originally for the Coronation of Edward VII (1902).
This piece was recently sung at the coronation of King Charles III. by the Choir at Westminster Abbey.

‘Lord in Thee have I trusted’ is the final chorus in ‘Dettingen Te Deum’ composed by G. F. Handel and conducted by Sir Emeka Nwokedi. The Lagos City Chorale performed this at the Independence Anniversary Concert on October 3rd, 2021 at the Wesley Chapel, Lekki, Lagos, to commemorate Nigeria’s Annual Independence celebration on October 1.

I have watched this a million times. It's amazing to see my namesake Chima ringing his tenor so colorfully. Brings back memories of my singing with this lovely choir and traveling across the Nigerian states to perform. Sir, Emeka Nwokedi doing what he knows how to do best. 😊
