Great video but is the 'seed sensor' part of the actuator assembly? My washer will agitate but faults after 2-3 seconds into the spin mode BUT the basket is spinning!! It is not a balance issue because I held the basket assembly stable when spin begins. Any advice would be appreciated. It is a ROPER VMW washer that I've owned for about 7 years; No problems til now.

A stripped drive basket hub will also cause the F7 E1 error code

If you look at the technician service manual you can see that the cause can be one of several things. While this video is probably the most likely cause it could be other things. Would be nice to see a video on how technicians diagnose possible causes within a specific error code.

Same issue if you enter diagnostic mode you're supposed to be able to hold the third button to clear theerror but it does not, there seems to be a consensus that this is a poor design in the lid lock is completely exposed to all of the moisture of the wash cycle, I have briefly considered dipping my switch in a bucket of conformal coating

It's not mentioned in this video but I had the same code and it turned out to be the run capacitor.

If your washer is the same as the one in the video, make sure to start on the knob above drain and spin. My washer is the same but I have “super wash” above drain and spin, and it worked flawlessly.

Found it was the capacitor with the E7E1 code.

My one year old Maytag washer has code F7E1, so it is for sure the shifter senor Fault ??😊

So i tried the tach test and it passed, but tried replacing the tach anyway and it didn't work for me, and the lid lock test works too, so after reading the comments I might try to replace the capacitor... but that seems weird that is causing it not to "sense the basket speed" because it does spin and does agitate, it just won't unlock the lid after it moves the drum...

I did this process earlier. I am still getting the error code and I still have the same problem: the washer won't start a cycle after sensing.

I wanted to fix mine but I only got a 10 in 1 screwdriver, thanks anyways

Finally

I left my old washer and dryer in the garage of my last apartment that came with a washer and dryer. The issue was I didn’t know that I should leave my doors open when storing them. 3 years later I’m moving into my partially renovated home I’ve spent a year on and my washer outer drum is covered in a green mold, that looks kind of like soap scum. I’ll be buying a nut wrench tomorrow so I can maintenance my washer, next I need to figure out what’s wrong with my dryer. Thanks for the simple video.

I have that exact code and washer. I replaced the actuator to no avail. What else could cause no spin/agitation? Splutch?
