in 1881, Charles Guiteau shot President James Garfield twice in the back, at a railroad station in Baltimore. the first bullet grazed his arm, the second punched through a vertebra, somehow missing the spinal cord, and settled right up against his spleen.

The idea that shooting a tank in the rear will do the most damage is mostly a myth. Yes, the armor is thinnest there, but the shells would most likely get stopped by the engine block, leaving the crew compartment intact. Most tanks also have a manual turret drive, so although it would be slow, the loss of the engine would not stop the rotation of the turret. The only acceptations is if the round is a extremely high penetration round and goes through the engine block, or it starts a fire.

so the sources I could find only listed what they called "The Big 5", and I felt like a partial list would be more frustrating than no list at all.
Apologies and such are handeled very differently per country, with Germany being continually shamed because its population still bears shame. In Japan I feel like its the total opposite. With Germany portraying any kind of nationalism/patriotism in a bad way, such that national flags are super rare to find. Fixing its diplomatic issues while having an identity crisis. Or Japan not even recognizing the horrible amount of death and s assaults that took place, causing tensions with countries around them. I feel both are unhealthy options, and I am glad to see such effects fade and the approach become more common sense like anyone would expect. I am Dutch(some German family), with family on both sides of the conflict, its easy to hate, till you realize they were all just people, and conscription is a thing. Also heard large parts of my Dutch(neutral) family got bombed by allied air raids, which even more so shows you cannot do anything but learn and understand, war will bring harm to anyone even if you are on the sidelines. My girlfriend is Filipina, with a great grandparent from Japan, after what Japan did there, I guess those must have been some interesting family dynamics. Just know we are all people, I am glad we have such a nice coalition of friendship now, Japanese are slowling getting reasonable, and I see the same in Germany, people realizing its not all bad and there is really some beautiful traditions worth remembering. With in Japans case recognizing other countries have such traditions to value too!
