@@Satwik_magi ah! The menthol is cooling and combats odour. It works.
Walking the trails and parkways of Singapore is one of my favourites activities when I'm in town. These ribbons of civility are a glorious way to get your 10,000 steps in each day. Best indulged in first thing in the morning before the sauna really fires up, I suggest finding a coffee shop for a hit of caffeine with the locals before you start. M
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences. Enjoy your walks and hikes in Singapore, and thanks for watching.
Consequence of Govt 6 million population policy, next going to 8 million and then 10 million. They just keep quiet about population projection now cos they know people not happy. Forest chop down, next more high rise building, more crowded, animals like monkeys, snakes, birds have no place to live force to come into housing estate, people complain, other issues like late night coffee shop noise, more car accidents, etc. If you think carefully many of the issues now surface due to overpopulation. I rather have less people, more peace and earn less money. Heavy Price paid for rapid economic growth.
Thanks for your comments. It's all very sad but true.
Once gone, never to return. I had a shock last month as I rode my mountain bike deep into the forest towards Ikusa river here in the Hakodate peninsular , often extremely quiet with the odd rustle of thick vegetation to conjure up images of bears, I encountered a field of depressing devastation. Trees had been cut down, the path ahead been completely churned into mud from logging trucks, and the river was a stagnant pond. In early summer this was my favourite track, away from people and with the possibility of encountering bears made the whole ride so exciting. In September it was ruined. The trees will grow back but not in my lifetime. At least there are no plans to builds houses because the population around here is declining anyway. So now I must venture even further into the mountains. I guess as we grow older we value the beautiful nature around us and realize, like ourselves, once gone it will never return.
Sg going to be all high rise buildings no forested area soon. Feels overwhelming for people like me who prefers more natural and greenery. If I was richer would have immigrated. I stay at Jurong is the same here. Ever since they started to develop Jurong into 2nd economic hub, so many forrested land cleared and make way for buildings. Now there is construction sites everywhere seriously is a bit disgusting to me. The old rustic and peace is gone forever.
Thanks, Michael, for your comments. Like you, I'm (now) very much aware of my changing surroundings on my outdoors adventures. I'm also clear about my conviction to leave nothing behind in nature except my footprints. I admire very much the efforts of the conservationalists but their voices are drowned out by naysayers and so-called progressives. We/I can and should do more!

Yes of course it is, of course you’re probably looking at 15 mins a side, but if you’ve no power what else you gonna do? Oh and butter or oil each side or it will stick to the pan 😂😂😂
I heard that China's CCP is good at this

Thank you so much. I am 74 and booked a trip to the Camino del Norte. Being scared to death by going by myself and at my age, you have given me hope.

One of my dreams to walk this Camino walk. Thank you for this insightful posting. Hopefully ..hopefully can do it in the near future. Better spring or summer toward fallen ? Kindly advise
@@widyaniswar thanks for watching and taking the time to write a comment. Spanish summers are hot. I'd go in spring or the fall but the infrastructure (Albergues, restaurants) may be limited.
I have watched so many videos on the Camino, but this is the first that I have watched from start to end. I feel that it shows what it is really like walking mile after mile on an average day. Very insightful, thanks Phillip.
@@rpeffers69 oh, thanks, so much. That was my intention exactly. I want to convey my experience beyond the travelogue approach.
Good stuff! So many things about everybody's Camino are the same, yet everybody's Camino is completely different! ¡Buen Camino!
Thanks! It was an adventure, for sure.

Your camino is what got me interested. Watching from Ethiopia 🇪🇹
Hello. Thanks for watching and taking the time to write a comment. I'm working on a project connecting walking, hiking and self-improvement. This video is a part of that.
Best way to know if the garment you buy will withstand your expectations is to check the label and water resistancy measured in mm as a reader has previously conmented. 10000mm-20000mm should cover you for a couple of hours in the pouring rain,a decathlon poncho you were wearing won't and they get very humid a wet on the inside.Great bomb proof (waterproof)trousers you can get are Patagonia with zips on the side for ventilation and easy to put on even with boots on but not cheap, nevertheless well worth the money spent.
Thank you Phillip for the wonderful memories 2023, at 70 I was the slowest hiking with my Hospital 'Clutches' for support and 95 % of the time I was alone and lost the way several times, my longest was from Baamomdo to Sobrado 40 kms took around 12 hrs (no rush) expect that I ran out of water you take care and keep on Hiking and enjoy the Nature and sound of the Birds, thanks Filipo
Thanks for watching and taking the time to write a wonderful comment. Congratulations on your achievement.

Thanks. The secret (I now know) is in the water you use to soak the beans. Tap water isn't the best.

Hey, thanks!
Looks amazing! Hope you enjoyed it!!
It was!
Great video! Can I ask which entrance did you enter from?
Well done. Good effort. It looks a lot more built up than the more popular French route? I’ve lived here in Spain for 20 years and still considering walking a camino….perhaps I’m too old at 73…..
Thanks for your comment. As they say, age is just a number and only you know (as far as you can) what your limits are. You might want to try a short section (3-5 days) to see how you feel physically and MENTALLY.
Many congratulations, Phillip. You have completed a very impressive journey, showing immense fortitude throughout. Now, what's your next challenge? Go well, and God bless.
Thanks, so much!
Excellent effort, Phillip.

Thanks, it wasn't bad.
