Salvaged VHS and Betamax Tapes destined for the landfill have gone to create An Aladdin’s Cave of largely forgotten media.. This small hobby is all about the capturing, encoding and uploading of hidden and forgotten gems; from Tape Based Media, obsolete stuff and things that might be of some sort of interest; the sort of thing most people would throw straight into the recycling when cleaning out the garage; if this is the sort of thing you find interesting; a very warm welcome to you!
Only basic kit available; a lot of this stuff would usually be lost for good, so reminisce here!
No Copyright Infringements ever intended on this channel; and everything is for entertainment purposes only. Nothing here is monetised. If you spot any errors in my descriptions; feel free to point these out.
If your bag is old Ad Breaks, Training Videos, Forgotten Documentaries and anything else between; I think you will fit right in here!
Currently Wanted:
"Holiday Showdown"

BBC 1 - Weather with Partial News and continuity into Out of Sight TX: 25/08/2001 (Betamax)
A rather late Betamax Recording dating from late August 2001. It's the end of the news, with the weather and some continuity into "Out of Sight"; almost certainly the original user would have accidentally recorded this when capturing "Out of Sight".
The news seems to cover a huge win on the US Powerball at the time; plus instability in the Middle East. It's hard to think that this is all before 9/11!
Running Order as follows:
"BBC News" (Incomplete)
"BBC Weather"
"Murder Rooms - The Dark Beginnings of Sherlock Holmes"
BBC Balloon Globe Continuity into "Out of Sight"
Please feel free to add anything. No Infringements Intended.

RAC Car Care by Chris Goffey and Sue Baker - Car Maintenance Informational Video (1987)
Wonderful film and commentary - made in 1992. Quite a period piece now though it was up to date at the time (33 years ago) with the first Networker Turbo 165 being filmed on the line at the very end. Great to hear Bill Simpson's voice reading his own script. The dates quoted show that the Oxford to Bicester Town part was closed for 19½ years - from the end of 1967 to May 1987. The expansionist policy of Chris Green's Network SouthEast brought it back. The connection to the Joint Line at Bicester and introduction of the Oxford-Marylebone Chjiltern Railways service was another 20 years. The line was closed to passengers for 19 years and has now been open again for 38 years (1987-2025). Quite striking.

God I need more Holiday Showdown, found it through your channel and I’m obsessed- how can we help with the hunt ?
@@fanyt1894 I’m Desperately seeking it too! Maybe we need to find people via Facebook who appeared on the show and ask them if they still have their copy? Is this your first discovery of holiday showdown? That’s pretty cool!
@ How do we find people who have been on the show if we don’t know the episodes- is there a list of synopsis with full names ? Yes, I will help in anyway I can to see more
@ all the synopsis are online. The entire episode guides I think
@ I’ve written this up, maybe you could use it when getting in touch Subject: Request Regarding “Holiday Showdown” Appearances Dear [Family Name], I hope this message finds you well. I’m reaching out as a huge fan of the ITV reality show Holiday Showdown, in which your family participated. Over the years, the show has grown in popularity on RUclips, and its fan base continues to expand. Unfortunately, the available episodes online are few and scattered, leaving many fans, including myself, longing for more content. We were wondering if you happen to still have any copies or recordings of your family’s appearance on the show. If so, would you be open to sharing them and allowing us to upload them to RUclips for the wider fan community to enjoy? It would mean a lot to both new and long-time fans to relive those classic episodes. I greatly appreciate your consideration and look forward to hearing from you. Best regards, [Your Name]
@ that’s absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much. I’m currently away in Australia for a month on a fantastic holiday actually! So I’ll get on with the nitty gritty when I’m home 😁
Miss those slides they used to do, and especially those promos they would do with a rundown of the night's schedule with the menu at the end. I wonder why they stopped doing them, as they would make you want to tune into the night's viewing more. Credit squeeze promos just don't cut it.
Peter Offer is announcing.

Thank you so much for uploading this to RUclips The Injest Department. This is brilliant and one of my favorite recordings. I absolutely love watching old recordings of CITV especially the links and adverts around the pre-school shows. This recording was taped on Friday 10th September 1993 during the first week when pre-school programmes were incorporated into the start of CITV and aired for the first 20 minutes. Back then CITV showed Tots TV four days a week on Monday Tuesday Thursday and Friday afternoons. Wizadora was shown on Monday and Wednesday afternoons. The Riddlers was shown on Tuesday and Thursday and Alphabet Castle on Wednesday and Friday.
