I definitely agree that Volk is the featherweight goat but I do think that you could argue that Jose Aldo would be above Max. I would say that Max is the better fighter at 145 and if they fought again Max would win again but I think Jose Aldo was the stronger champion because he still did have good defenses, Chad Mendez twice, Frankie Edgar twice, Uriah Faber, the Korean Zombie, and Kenny Florian as well as some wins over… questionable talent.
