I’m getting ready to pick up a 2014 tundra 5.7 with 139k on the clock, getting it for a price of 18.4. Is it a good buy? Should I look for something maybe a little newer?

I’m curious, what was the purpose of the chain? Why not just attach the 2x4 and lift on that?

Anyone been having rhe tensioner timing chain tick on start ?

Looking into a 13in electric weedeater and leaf blower combo kit from Lowes, I’m tired of using gas powered weedeaters, to much I’ve maintained over the yrs. Another tip: if you live in the rust belt youre absolutely screwed and that tiny little nub at the top of the shock hes using an adjustable wrench on (dont recommend) rounds off and eventually break, so then after busting your but for over an hour you get to spend almost $1k to go to a shop to do it anyway. Hope this helps! (2015 tundra 115k miles, new England)

Install tip: if you can’t torque the top nut just tighten until the bushing is compressed to the size of the washer

Did you ever replace the transmission fluid?

My first Tundra was 07. Bed rusted thru right behind wheel wells. Toyota replaced entire truck bed/fenders assembly plus painted, etc. made me a happy customer so I bought a ‘14 Platinum. Surely after 7 years of dealing with rusted out beds Toyota would have fixed that problem? Nope. This time they wouldn’t replace the rusted bed. At next trade-in time I opted for an aluminum truck. Sorry.

I have similar items. I divide them into modules within a backpack, toolbox, and a floor jack. Furthermore, I carry safety gear for the driver: a safety reflective vest and gloves, rubber gloves, and safety glasses. For driver and passengers I also have emergency blanket, emergency poncho, whistle, and mask. There is also a small bandage kit as well.

I believe the top mounting nut torque value is 15 ft/lbs not 66 ft/lbs.

You'll want to remove the tank and clean the area around the spark plugs (brake cleaner/compressed air), without this you are risking sending any crap that was around the spark plugs (like sand and dirt) down the engine ;)
